  1. You should wear your Olt Marlins jersey. or my 2013 Greinke Brewers jersey
  2. I got tix for Sundays game. Gonna sport my Greinke jersey.
  3. Most teams are backing away from trading for Greinke as it seems a lock that the Brewers will sign him in the offseason. Reports are that his teammates said he likes Milwaukee, and that since Braun signed a long term discounted deal, Greinke will probably do the same. That, and the Brewers will defintely contend down the road, far more than the Angels, Rangers, or Braves, that's for certain.
  4. That is what most people are arguing with me. I wouldn't keep pushing the obvious facts if they weren't. Not a contender in the future = Braun only big star on team long term + weak farm system (as of now) + small/mid-market payroll team. At the begining of this season the Brewers had a rotation of Greinke/Gallardo/Marcum/Wolf/Narv. Even with less of a batting lineup (I.E. no Prince) they still were contenders in a weak division with their strong rotation. The bullpen however single handedly took them out of contention. Next year, the Brewer rotation will not even have a true ace in it. MLB is a pitchers league now. Combine a average rotation with a average batting lineup and I don't see how they contend now or anytime soon.
  5. "Greinke likes it here" oh please If Greinke likes it here so much why didn't he sign that $115M offer? Comparing Braun and Greinke is a joke. Braun has been a Brewer since day 1 in his MLB career and he choose he wanted to finish a Brewer, and by doing so, took probably way less money than he could have made going elsewhere had he waited till FA like Prince. He also could have gone to a repeat contender but choose not too. Who knows his reasons. Fact is, he screwed himself out of $$$ and more chances to contend for a title by making the decision he did. Greinke has been a brewer for 1.5 years. He wanted off the Royals cause he wanted to win. He still wants to win. When lining up contenders, and who will contend for the forseeable future, the Brewers are hardly on the map.
  6. How bout this... Who can name the last big time FA that didn't sign for max $$$? Greinke would not only have to sign for less than max $$$ he could get, but also pass up WS contending teams while doing so. ^ if that seems like a legit possibility to anyone, I don't even know what to say.
  7. Those are my exact words. This years rotation: Greinke/Gallardo/Marcum/Wolf/Narv Narv and Marcum hurt, sub in Estrada and Fiers and rotation still is good shape. Next year, no Greinke, no Marcum (arguably) = not looking good to contend. Bring back Marcum, still not looking good.
  8. Why don't the brewers look anything like contenders in the near future? Because there's 2 other teams in the division that look better, and 6 other teams in the NL that look better.
  9. There is -550% chance of it happening Brewers payroll will be around $80M next year (2013), by season's end (2013) probably $87-$90M assuming they add pieces as the season goes. Doug said the $96M payroll this year is way over budget and was not intended (KRod accepting arb, panic signing or Aramis cause thought was Braun was missing 50 games, etc). Can you tell me why Zack would be interested in playing for the Brewers vs. a contending big money team? I'd really love to hear it...
  10. 1) The Brewers can't make a competitive offer. They do not have the payroll to devote almost a 3rd of their payroll to one person. 2) In his last two interviews regarding where Zack would like to go, all Zack said was he wanted to win. He even said he didn't care how he pitched, as long as the team wins. The Brewers look nothing like contenders in the near future. Even with Zack back, it's arguable. Greinke is going to go to a big money contender. He'll get something comparable to Hamels, maybe even more (as ridiculous as it sounds) because he'll hit the FA waters, unlike Hamels.
  11. "I wouldn't be suprised if Grienke comes back" I cannot, I don't even, I... GREINKE WILL NOT BE BACK IN MILWAUKEE GUYZ Seriously, I don't know if you guys are being sarcastic or not. I'm hoping you are. There is as much chance of Greinke resigning with the Brewers as there is Lebron James asking to be traded to the Bucks.
  12. Are you really comparing the two situations? Phillies = WS contender (at the time) and big money market. The offer the Yankees made to Lee did end up being less than what the Phillies gave him when it was all said and done as well. Brewers = not a WS contender, not a big money team.
  13. The last two posts should be in blue as well. If any of you truly think Greinke will sign with Milwaukee in the offseason, I have a bridge to sell you.
  14. Go about 7-8 pages back. That article is talked about a lot. I was one of the emails they read on WSSP this morning on the topic.
  15. Keep Ax and Parra. Take the others out back behind the shed and put them down.
  16. I asked days ago for this to be done. Problem is/was that the same Greinke arguments/debates were being repeated in both threads. Good job moot. I have tix to Sunday's game. I realize Greinke won't pitch (he better not), but I still may wear my Greinke jersey.
  17. His numbers are similar (as bad) to what Livan's were when the crew grabbed him.
  18. scroll back. 2nd round pick, who's been exceptional at the AA and AAA levels. That's why their are frustrations over sending him down and not giving him more of a chance than 11AB's.
  19. George will make a better male stripper anyways
  20. the Bianchi to AAA makes sense if the Andrus rumor is legi
  21. I didn't think there was a lick of this being true till I read the following... If Oldcity is right, then it makes plenty of sense for the Rangers to do this.
  22. and like others have mentioned, Doug can still trade Kotteras. Had to make the roster move to make room for LUcROY
  23. Depending on what lists you look at (admittedly, there's hundreds of different prospect lists), Segura and Perez aren't even top 50 prospects, so I'd assume those guys would be part of a package. Delgado as well.
  24. It's not that Wolf loved Kotteras, it's that he didn't get a long with LucrOy in how he called the games or something. Wolf doesn't need Kotteras, he just couldn't get a long with LucRoy so Ron choose Wolf to be the pitcher in the rotation where LucroY got his day off.
  25. Let's sober up and assume Profar is off the table, as the Brewers would have to throw in a lot more for him. Who is the next best option? Teheren?
