  1. Maybe Stearns and Counsell shouldn’t of ran out Villar, a 162 game, 4-WAR player.
  2. The doubt STARTS to creep in a little bit? Did you read last weeks game vs Philly? Our team is awful! Rodgers is only 16th in the league in one of the most wildly mis-leading stats(4th quarter comebacks) we can't stop anyone...I don't know, a litany of other things as well. The Cowboys are pretty loaded when healthy. I think Dak's vastly overrated, but they've got a vastly improved defense, Byron Jones has taken off, LVE is a Urlacher type LB'er and Jaylon Smith has been good for them. I just want to see what Pettine does to try and fix the run D. We've got a good enough DL that we shouldn't be getting gashed like that. It looked more like the DL was trying to get up-field instead of eat up blockers for the backers and safety's to come in. If they make changes and still can't slow down the run game a bit, maybe go out and sign Mike Pennel. Bring that monster of a human being back to Green Bay. Throw him out there with Clark and Lowry on running downs. Wouldn't cost you much and he was a really good run defender with the Jets. Especially if you plan on moving Clark around on the line. Fine, play Clark at the 5. Plug Pennel in as a guy to just occupy the center and the guard and keep them off our LB'ers. I don't think it's wise to judge opinions based on an IGT. Those are usually too emotional of reactions. I know you are pretty excited about this team and the direction of it but I think you have to understand that not everyone sees it that way. We have really struggled in a lot of ways this season and that 3-1 record could very well be a mirage for what's to come. OR, as you have said, we are plugging away and will continue to improve as we go. Areas I'm concerned about are with the offensive line and lack of WR/TE talent. I think these two areas could keep our offense from really taking off. Another area that seems to rear its ugly head is our rush defense. If that doesn't improve, it will really affect this season. We've taken a beating on our D-line.
  3. I’d rather go with Burnes or Peralta over Nelson.
  4. Plenty of playing time for Grisham between Braun and Cain. They’ll both need days off.
  5. That isn't perfect but Seager's value according to them is a bit lower.
  6. Go get Seager, sign Moose and Grandal, take on Thames option and wowzers... 1. (L) Seager- SS 2. (S) Grandal- C 3. (L) Yelich- RF 4. ® Hiura- 2B 5. (L) Moose- 3B 6. ® Braun- LF 7. (L) Thames- 1B 8. ® Cain- CF Bench: (L) Grisham- OF, (L) Shaw- 2B/3B, ® Arcia- 2B/SS, ® Pina- C Your window would be until 2022 offensively.
  7. Brewers: Hader- 66.5 Dodgers: Seager- 45.5, Gray- 11.5 = 57.0 According to that site, you would have room to add on.
  8. I like that scenario but I'll keep Arica if it means upgrading pitching.
  9. Brewers: Hader- 66.5 Dodgers: May- 54.7, Gray- 11.5 = 66.2 According to that site, it is about as even as you get.
  10. A better way might be to go after not so young controllable players. Garrett Cooper turns 29 in December, so it's highly questionable if Miami sees him as a core player of their rebuild, but he'd be a nice fit on this Brewer team as a RH bat with ability to play 1B and corner OF. With having Trent Grisham, I'd do a Gamel for Cooper swap in a heartbeat if they would do it. Although Cooper seems like a player that should be getting everyday at bats and with Braun/Thames for 1B, just not sure it would be a fit.
  11. On that trade simulator site Hader has a value of 65.5 while Lux is at 86.6
  12. I didn't get very upset when it happened the other night. I came into the playoffs knowing this team had just so many warts that it wasn't an ideal roster to do much. Now, that isn't saying that they could not beat the other playoff teams but just that it wasn't a high probability of happening. Really cool that they put on a show in September and got themselves into the one-game situation though. A stepping stone for this franchise to hopefully continue having sustained success. More times you get in, the more chances you have to win it all.
  13. Win this game and a lot of people on the fence about this team become believers. Lose and the doubt starts to creep in a bit.
  14. I think we do add Gavin Lux to this discussion. If Hader is a guy that could be moved, Lux should be apart of that deal. I love Thames but I would get Dominic Smith in a heartbeat. If you could pull off trades for Smith and Lux, you would have prime young bats at 1B, 2B, and SS for your infield. All young and controllable with the cost being very little. You couple that with having Yelich, possibly resigning Moose, a never aging Braun, a resurgent Cain, and you may just have something pretty great. Toss in Grandal because we are greedy fans and whoa.
  15. If you are trading Hader for a guy like Gavin Lux who is MLB ready, then it makes a bit more sense. But you better be signing Pomeranz+ in that case.
  16. I thought the whining was bad when Hader blew it but I can't even imagine who would come out of the woodwork if he had stuck Lyles in there and he gave up the lead.
  17. What about Chirinos from Houston? He might be a guy that it only takes a one year deal. Steady and solid production for the last 3 season.
  18. If we are talking about moving a player like Hader right now then try to move them all and just rebuild. Can’t do a half ass job doing that process and hope to succeed.
  19. Woody Wheeler/Odorizzi Anderson Lyles Davies Hader Pomeranz Claudio Knebel Peralta Houser Black Wahl
  20. Cain has already aged enough where people should really see that signing a 30+ year old catcher for the next 3-years is a bad idea.
  21. Who is there out there to target in this category? If we want to keep having sustained success we either need 1-year deals to fall into our lap or we need to get back on the young & controllable train. Figured this would be a good place as any to start throwing out names that would be good targets. Who we got?!?
  22. This is exactly where I am at. If they find a nice 1B catcher to Pina, the production will be just fine there. Use those resources elsewhere.
  23. If you don't spend on Grandal and/or Moose, I could see them trying to go this route. But not if they have to spend much of their resources on other positions. There are a lot of holes to fill.
  24. Yes, El Cheapo will be at it again this season. I can't believe he doesn't want to fork out $200+ million to 30+ year olds.
  25. I'd counter by saying that this team has arguably never had a reliever as talented as Josh Hader. Like I said, we'll see. And that Hader didn't look like "garbage". That is also a false narrative in this. And a very silly one.
