  1. The pressure man, wow. But yes, would be pretty cool.
  2. Since you guys are talking about the timing.
  3. No. But if you’re going to fire a HC midseason then why is Thompson still working in your player personnel and being tossed in the HOF as a rush job?
  4. But you didn't like when Stearns admitted he made a mistake with Schoop. Which way do you want it? Edit: To be clear my intention isn't to be disrespectful, you're allowed your opinion, I just found the contrast curious. Calling out one single player is petty as a GM of a ball team. It was unnecessary as I’ve stated in the other thread. The front office has never admitted their mistakes, especially with Thompson. Instead they’re pushing him to the GB HOF as the team he put together absolutely stinks. Been three SB winning coaches in Packers history and only one of them gets treated like trash.
  5. Chicken poop front office. Bunch of cowards that will never take the blame they fully deserve.
  6. Might as well just sign Moustakas. Seager isn't good.
  7. Crosby: Miss against Minnesota for a win, the Lions fiasco, and then this miss today against Arizona. Might as well go find a younger, cheaper kicker while we are at it with firing people.
  8. Rodgers continues to be short on throws late in games. It is just so odd.
  9. [sarcasm]Check in with your scout and get back to us on this one.[/sarcasm]
  10. Amazing that both sides cannot be discussed on this topic. Truly amazing so many get offended when they disagree with this GM. No matter if it what he says, or trades, or signs... people can disagree and the world will still turn. Ridiculous is right wallrus, just in the opposite direction of what you deem ridiculous.
  11. Oh I disagree. We would have a very poor offense with this lineup, especially with Arcia at SS.
  12. I’ll just end my comments on this to say I don’t think it is a huge deal either. I just didn’t think the comment was necessary. The rest of the quote by Nieves makes it a bit better for me but again, it’s just ones opinion
  13. I don't believe it was a "comment" though - I believe it was an answer to a question from a reporter. It wasn't in a press release or any official statement, it was something that he said to a reporter who likely asked a question. Tomayto, tomahto. It was something he did not have to say to a reporter. The entire baseball world realizes his mistake. Him taking a shot at the parting player (to me) does nothing. People rally around this taking accountability thing. He can take accountability by just realizing it was a bad trade, non-tendering him, and finding us an actual infielder that will help us win games. That is what I would like to see out of the GM.
  14. This is more strange than anything he said.
  15. I think it's a good statement about his character to come out and tell us that he made a mistake. Players respect that, his coaches respect that, fans respect that. I have a very hard time seeing how making a statement holding himself accountable for a rare bad move is in any way a negative thing. If he had dragged Schoop through the mud with his comments I could see that perspective but he doesn't come off that way at all IMO. It’s all opinion but not all might respect that sort of comment. I certainly don’t. It don’t think it’s a necessary comment to say it is a bad trade. Just not necessary since everyone can put it together if you cut a guy a few months after trading three players for.
  16. I don’t get these type of condescending remarks. Fiers pitched well a season ago, has had a solid career, and will help someone’s staff. Will it be the Brewers? Meh, probably not worth a thread but there are plenty of worse options out there.
  17. I’m not a fan of the comments by Stearns. For me, it’s fine to realize and think those things. Don’t see a need to make the comment. Just do your job better.
  18. Didn’t he cry when he was told he was traded to us?
  19. The part we don't mention much is that Arcia was basically trash last season until the last month or so. My guess is that this played a role in acquiring Schoop as well. If Arcia had been doing his job all year, we might not have been so desperate to make this move.
  20. back-pat... Thanks? Wasn't my intended reason for the post. Was more so just a realization of how screwed that franchise really is right now because they didn't take the proper steps to using their resources that they have had. And now, more than likely, they will end up paying for it.
  21. It was two seasons ago now (I think) that I told my buddy, who is a huge Giants fan, that the Giants are making a mistake not selling off everyone and beginning anew. They are a wreck. They won't be forever because they have resources but they are in a bad situation with their roster because their GM did not realize that the window was closing (is closed) on that group of ballplayers. Huge whiff out in SF not capitalizing on some really great players and re-stocking the farm when they had the opportunity to do so. Now they will either stand pat and stink or sell off, get peanuts for their return and stink.
  22. If we give him the money, he'll stink. If we waive him, he'll go play all-star ball for someone else. We already know how this is going to play out guys.
  23. It is my favorite of the three (Med, Fire, PD). It's a pretty great thing when they all flow together.
  24. I kind of wish the bowl committee wouldn't give in to giving the Badgers better than they deserve this year. Time and time again we end up getting a better bowl game because our fan base travels. Punish us for the putrid season we put together this season for once.
  25. Yes, I had beer spilt all over me and many high fives with that homer. Great memory.
