  1. He's trying too hard. Hardly seeing strikes these days. That's on Shaw, Braun, etc. Oh come on.
  2. Trading for him and Wheeler would be somewhat funny considering how many wanted deGrom and Thor.
  3. Doesn’t seem like the Marlins want to move him. Thought I saw some talks about trying to extend him this winter. It is a bummer because that would be a fun bat and backstop to have.
  4. He's been fine. No complaints here. Exactly as advertised as a solid #3-4. Unfortunately, the whole rotation is solid #3-4's. Personally, I'm kinda sick of seeing the Brewers only connected to pitching. Pitching isn't the problem. Gotta get at least one bat. If they are truly waiting for Dozier to get a curtain call from the Twins fan base, I’ll be pretty ticked.
  5. Yeah, I gotta eat crow on Chacin. I was very skeptical. Throw enough darts... Stearns seems to do pretty well at this. I mean I know you don’t like Miley but it’s not like he’s out there not giving this team a chance to win (he will probably blow up now.)
  6. Chacin? He's been better than expected. Solid innings eater. Not a difference maker. Oh I’d say he’s made a difference for the Brewers. We have all been through this.. there weren’t many SP’s that have actually planned out. Chacin has been the best or one of the best ones. Ya know, if you go by those pesky stats.
  7. Uhhh... he’s been okay as a Brewer so far. Might wanna hold off until he actually, ya know, sucks it up a bit longer than one inning.
  8. For me I’m at the point to have them just replace BA. Either you’re with us or......
  9. Helps to be rich but sometimes it gets teams into very foolish deals. Their starting rotation is a perfect example of that.
  10. If it’s Saladino they don’t believe in his hot start because over the last month he has been a bad hitter and played terrible defense.
  11. This wouldn’t be an issue if Pina didn’t take a total dump this season. Kratz could be the backup and we could complain about him one time a week. After seeing Pina’s at bats lately, I’ll roll with Kratz.
  12. Very happy with this move. Hopefully he can continue his hot hitting ways.
  13. Brewers will be fine payroll wise. Enough young talent coming in that is cheap. And they have room to expand payroll as it has been discussed in the past. If Soria is lights out, we will probably try to keep him.
  14. Yeah this is another one I want to stay away from.
  15. Right. Let a deep pockets team spend that kind of money on a reliever. That's not were the Brewers should be spending that kind of money and I believe Moneyball thinking also states not to spend a lot on relievers. Unfortunately that makes the deal Kodi+ for a straight up reliever rental which is less than enthralling. I was okay giving up Cordell for one last year, I'm a lot less enthused about giving up a pitcher with the upside of Medeiros. Especially with how barren we now are on the farm for lefty arms. There is just nothing now. Not that I think the return is unfair but I would have rather given up someone like Diplan, Ponce or Brown. I get the lefty thing but if Stearns and Co. are higher on Diplan, Prince and Brown I am good with parting with Medeiros. Or maybe the White Sox wanted Kodi and didn’t want those other guys.
  16. If the Brewers are to have any chance, don't they have to get more than 1 1/2 years of a major league relief pitcher out of a first round? They passed on Trea Turner, Justus Sheffield, Matt Chapman, Jack Flaherty and Sean Newcomb to get Kodi. If Turang or Huira turn out to only be pieces that are flipped for a mid-30s reliever, I would say they were busts, too. But the story isn’t over. He will now get a real opportunity if he continues to pitch well for the Sox. Maybe his value isn’t what you would want it to be from a former first rounder today, but the story isn’t nealy over. So bust just doesn’t make sense to me really. But to answer question. My answer is no. The Brewers are doing a very nice job building a major league team ready to compete this year and upcoming years as well as stock some very nice talent in the minor league system. Major league talent comes from a lot of different avenues, first round selections being only one of them.
  17. Easy way to get him to want to be here next season. Win.
  18. I agree. To me, "bust" means a high draft pick that amounts to no value whatsoever. Brewers have had plenty of those over the years. Clint Coulter is on his way there currently. Is it disappointing that Medieros is never going to be that dominant lefty starter in the Brewers' rotation? Yeah, maybe. But calling him a bust because he's never going to do that is perhaps the wrong word to use. Right. I mean the Brewers will not break him through but he very well could as a White Sox player. He has a great opportunity now to actually push through to a major league career if he continues to do what he’s been doing. That’s not a bust it’s just using your resources. He wasn’t going to get that opportunity here. Too many in front of him.
  19. Another move I’m good with not being apart of.
  20. I’m not sure why I keep reading on here the Medeiros is a bust but I think it’s completely wrong.
  21. How true this is.
  22. Tough not to see the positive in this trade. Really going to add to our bullpen, especially if we ever figure out how to get leads again.
