  1. That approach is likely to be more successful when you have a roster full of major league players to plug in when you give someone a day off, and several productive hitters in your everyday lineup. This team has neither of those things. It’s tough when your pitchers have to shut down one of the best scoring teams in the league just to have a chance and, as we saw last night, even that may not be good enough. Agreed. This is a bummer of a lineup. Will stink to get swept by the Reds as they are surging. You guys should probably go look at that 2018 roster and see how many plate appearances came from below average hitters. Your memories are failing you.
  2. I've never really thought that coaching matters much in the NBA. Maybe it does but it just seems like whoever has the best player(s), wins. And they basically do what they want out there.
  3. One of the best things I like about CC is that he never seems to panic and I think that helps our club. He continues to stay with what he believes is the best for the long-term of this season and keeps his entire roster engaged. I know a lot of fans get frustrated with this but it sure seems to be working the last few seasons. I think back to 2018 when we overtook Chicago and how well we played down the stretch.
  4. Jace has a great at-bat every once in a while but overall, he just isn't very good. He just can't find the consistency to make it at the MLB level. I wish we could find a suitable replacement but those guys are hard to find these days it seems.
  5. Doesn’t look woefully short or embarrassing to me.
  6. This is just so damn dramatic. The Brewers are in a tie for first place and probably have had one of the most injured teams in the league. Has there been some struggles offensively? Sure. But there a lot of teams that can say that. Are there some areas we can target to improve? Also true. But my god man, step off the ledge a bit.
  7. I’d be willing to go out on a limb and say that is pretty common for a lot of franchises like the Brewers. The economics almost force situations like that list above.
  8. The expense part, I don’t really care about. It takes money to sign people and it’s already spent. I do care that he’s basically pitcher bad in our lineup. If we cut him, someone would pick him up I’m sure. And maybe he’d hit well enough to then decline the option next season. Or maybe he will still turn it around and actually still help this team because Cain sure isn’t going to much.
  9. I didn’t want to lose this discussion with a game thread ending. Are we at a point in the season of no return? I mean, we at mid-June with no signs of life here. He has to be mentally fried with his season and lack of success. Can we cut bait? Is that even an option?
  10. Giannis hasn’t helped his case for those that say he’s overrated. We can say Bud isn’t a playoff coach but it doesn’t look like Giannis is a playoff player either.
  11. I just don’t care. If he’s back in the fall, cool. If he’s not, okay with that too. The older I’ve got, the less I pay attention to the off-season. Heck, even during the season, I don’t watch as much of the NFL as I used to. I suppose if he came out against the organization or against Gute, I’d be in the group of wanting to move on. If he’s quiet and they figure stuff out and plays, well then we have ourselves another window to win a super bowl.
  12. Very nice. Got us through 5 giving up no more damage. Let’s go offense. Steal one.
  13. Do you think the Brewers can score 10? That might (or might not) be enough. I guess we will find out.
  14. The Brewers just have to score one more run than the Reds. That’s all that it takes to win.
  15. Regarding Jeffress.
  16. Turns out, Braun was training for his home run derby he just competed in. Hit 11 dingers on 12 swings. He’s ready…
  17. If he’s pitches well and is a good guy while here, great addition. Who cares what happened between him and Harper.
  18. The Brewers are 18-11 against teams above .500 It might just be time for some fans to think more of this group.
