  1. Just checked into the game score. Man, it's like clockwork with these guys. It's not the loss as much as how the game was played.
  2. Well considering our great history, maybe the email has more merit than you're giving it.
  3. If Counsell starts Garza, and it costs them a playoff spot in the long run, Counsell should lose his job!! Garza should not pitch again this year unless it is mop up innings one way or the other. He NEEDS to be done! Any managerial decision to start Matt Garza should cost that manager his job. What if Garza starts and has a good outing? Does Counsell still lose his job or does he get to keep it? Just trying to keep track of all this. I'm guessing players will lose all respect for CC if he names Garza starter, and he'll be fired. Then Garza has a good outing, players respect CC again and he is re-hired. Garza gets a 2nd start, gets rocked. Now CC, Stearns, Uecker, and Hank the Dog are all fired. Players lose respect for Ed Sedar and Jerry Augustine, but they keep their jobs. Finally, players DO respect the Italian Racing Sausage, but he's fired anyhow. Man are you a disrespectful person. Do you feel better about yourself now? Exactly the type of posts that cloud up these threads and make this place absolute crap. Either give your opinion or don't. But don't be a turd to others in the process. I'm not sure why that is such a hard thing for people these days.
  4. Have you seen what Woodruff has done so far this season?
  5. Thames 2017 vs RHP .251/.239/.530/.899 Even with his down times, Thames is still sporting a .853 OPS, nearly 200 points higher than Villar. It doesn't seem painfully obvious to me why you would regularly take his bat out of the lineup. How much of that OPS has been bumped due to his stats in May? He has a .708 OPS in Sept. and had a .691 in August. Not only that but he has been abysmal with RISP so far so I can see why people want to see less of him. He has been very frustrating as he seemed dinged up just about all year long. Maybe he needs to stay out of the weight room for a bit and hit a yoga class.
  6. I would think they are trying to keep it as close to the vest as possible. Less time to prepare for whoever they choose.
  7. Having opinions is great. Telling someone that theirs shouldn't be shared is ridiculous. You do? Not saying you are wrong but I feel like you are. I was in favor of adding a pitcher if the price was right. I don't think I ever spoke on what you are referring to. Relief pitching, on the other hand, I've had quite a bit to say about it and the mishaps there.
  8. *Perez is 0-8 lifetime against Brault and Broxtons is 3 for 4 with three doubles so maybe my lineup could include Broxton in CF and Walker (0 for 0) or Villar (1 for 5 with a double) at 2B.
  9. Isn't that exactly what you are doing but on the other side of the argument? Of course, it is opinion, as is yours. And this is a message board, where opinions are okay to have. Unless that's a new board rule that we are not aware of. We give opinions basically in everything that we post. Done with the pissing match but please refrain from trying to curb my opinions, while giving your own on the message boards, please. Thanks.
  10. You should have kept it to the speaking for yourself part. By all accounts Garza is highly respected among the players, so they're not going to lose the players trust by starting Garza. During the course of a 162 games season there are many instances where players for any team may not agree with a decision that is made. Would take a lot more that starting Garza to lose the players trust. With all that said, please no more Garza. I'm guessing that not all 30+ players(I wonder if Sogard has "great respect" for him?) on that team want to see the ball handed to a guy that can't get out of the 3rd inning. You can have great respect for someone and still not want to see them get the ball every 5 days. If it costs them in a big spot, it will have a definite effect on how they view management. And it should. There is just no reason to put Garza out there right now. Either he is hurt or he is finished as a pitcher. A a semi-supporter, I hope it's that he's hurt because it's sad when a player falls off a cliff.
  11. If they start Garza and it blows up again and costs them a playoff spot, both Stearns and Counsell will lose these players trust. At least if I was on the team and it happened, I wouldn't trust a damn thing they did if that scenario were to play itself out.
  12. vs. Lefty: 2017- (OBP/OPS) Santana- RF (.381/.872) Perez- 2B (.371/.877) Braun- LF (.361/.840) Shaw- 3B (.317/.787) **Move down a spot? Aguilar- 1B (.374/.896) **Move up a spot? Pina- C (.356/.758) Phillips- CF (.385/.983) **Col Springs stats Arica- SS (.336/.663) *If not Perez, I would do Villar and hope he's hot. Walker has struggled vs. LHP good pinch hitter to have late in game.
  13. I just don't know why some want to continue to put him here. He's not a great candidate for a leadoff role. While he would be an upgrade over lets say, Perez... that is not saying much. His OBP is .319 on the season and just a tad over .300 for his short career. He needs to evolve still and that's not saying he won't but he is just not a lead off hitter yet. Giving more at bats to mediocre hitters. Makes no sense. Phillips would be fine to start out there even if it is a lefty. It is not like we are getting much out of our CF position anyways so see if he can get hot for 20 games.
  14. Shouldn't it be someone like Freddy Peralta? If he is added, he would then be playoff eligible. He currently is not because he wasn't on the 40 man on Aug. 31st. You could always add a Jungmann if you wanted to after that but it would great to have more options for that playoff spot and Freddy needs to be added after the season anyways.
  15. Yep. This is what it should be for the majority of games but for some reason if Villar plays, Sogard has to as well. People complain about Villar leading off but he's a better option there than Perez, Thames or Sogard.
  16. He has three more starts this year (4 if they go on short rest at times), he still has an opportunity to be a 20 game winner and it may just take that for the Brewers to do this. This should be fun!
  17. Watching the game I just kept thinking the entire game that the Packers were the superior team. Sure there were plays that could have went Seattle's way but I truly feel the more talented team is GB and I'm not sure it is that close. Just need to play up to it and stay healthy and this team has a really good shot at adding the 5th trophy at Lambeau.
  18. I think we can see the importance of Cobb with this offense.
  19. With Thames struggling, Walker could play 1B and Villar at 2B. Perez had a blunder in RF today, so I guess we should never see him again.
  20. With Thames struggling, Walker could play 1B and Villar at 2B.
  21. The handling of Villar has been questionable at best.
  22. Don't run so hard to first Davies. Can't take another injury. Blue?
