  1. I apologize, but your demeanor here turns off a lot of posters... Yup, I shouldn't have gone there. So now you speak for a lot of posters? Give me a break. This board is getting into a very bad habit of tearing down anyone who has a differing opinion. My thoughts didn't attack anyone individually. It only pointed out that some players get butchered, sometimes for little things, while a guy like Knebel blows a game (3BS) and not a peep about him. I've seen others say it's because Villar just makes so many mistakes and all that and I accept their opinion and would've easily moved on. You just decided to be not to nice to me for really no reason other than we disagree.
  2. Lol, Oh man. Keep the personal attacks coming. This place is showing it's true colors. My comments have nothing to do with a like or dislike for Villar. Just that he gets treated very differently. Sorry that triggers you into a post like this.
  3. I'm not even advocating removing Knebel but at what point is it not okay for him to cost us games? What's your breaking point on a closer? I guess we'll never know how many Feliz would have racked up but he did come through 8 of 9 times.
  4. A bit harsh mate! You are new here, stick around, and you'll understand. Still not acceptable for how you spoke to me. I didn't attack you personally at all. Sharing my opinion on how some of us treat certain players on here is all and you don't care for it. Doesn't give you any right to make that remark.
  5. If your job is to be the board dick, you deserve a raise... People on here burned Feliz at the stake and he was 8 of 9'in save situations. I'm all for Knebel but he's 4 of 7. It ain't good man.
  6. You know the answer to this. Not sure why you're asking. Just pointing out that some players get a lot harsher attitudes towards than others. Eventually Knebel just has to start being better at save opportunities or all the peripheral stats in the world won't mean a can of beans.
  7. Knebel is gonna drop to 4 of 7 in save opportunities. Where is the uproar?
  8. yup, the love will come back pretty quickly if he actually starts helping the team win games. There wasn't a ton of love a year ago when he was raking. People have poked a part his game since he has been here.
  9. I don't think anyone hates the guy, but he needs to give us a reason to like him again. It;'s been a miserable, disappointing season, and it isn't like it is the 2nd week of the season, he has sucked since day one. Forgive us for expecting our 2B to make plays that 100% of all other MLB 2B would make. It is becoming habitual, and tiring. Celebrating him making the next routine play is a bit funny imo. Chase Utley booted an easy ball a half inning before. It happens. And there is hatred. The guy could play well for a month and make a base running error and the pitch forks would come right back out. It's craziness.
  10. You guys are comical. Those two balls were scourchers. The first one hopped up him. Play that could for sure be made but the hate just runs way too strong here for this guy. And just like that he makes the very next play. It's like he has made love to all your wives or something. So happy for Jimmy to get outta there. Tack on here and send out Knebel and get game one!
  11. Nelson will be lucky to get out of the 8th the way this one is setting up. Damn.
  12. A dream opportunity would be to face Kershaw once. Dude is amazing.
  13. This thread I try to stay away from reading because it is flat out depressing the lack of quality that we have had as a franchise.
  14. Getting the run in with two outs and a man on third means scoring a run vs not scoring a run. How can scoring a run vs not scoring a run not correlate with winning games? Take a look at the most of the teams at the list. Not much correlation between being great in this department and winning more games than not. San Diego, Miami, SFG are all in the top 5. How they doing this year?
  15. The ranking is a bit misleading. The league average is 50% and we are 47%. Not only that but looking through the stats there isn't much correlation between being overly successful in this department and winning games.
  16. It was terrible. Racking up a pitch count is pretty meaningless when it is a reliever. And all he needed was to put a ball in play, if there's a runner at 3rd with less than two outs and you strike out, its a terrible at bat, doesn't matter how many pitches it goes. If it was that easy to put the ball in play it'd happen every time. I love when people act as though this game is easy. Pure ignorance to how tough this skill really is against the best in the world.
  17. Working a 10 pitch at bat is not terrible. Not always going to come through in those spots. Last I checked they are major league pitchers out there too.
  18. Franklin has to play at some point. Part of the reason he's not producing is because of the lack of at bats he's getting. He's still been a pretty solid pinch hitter off the bench.
  19. I think we should just let Counsell do his thing. Right now he's managing a 1st place ball club and we have armchair GM's who feel they can do better. Enjoy the run.
  20. Some weren't giving him much hope to returning to what he was a year ago. Hope this continues.
