  1. Shoot. Well thanks for the link I missed that one.
  2. Plenty of other places to discuss the Brewers possible rotation guys. Keep this on the optimism stuff please. It's about the only place on the boards we stay outta the muck.
  3. Brinson didn't play either of the games in their double header yesterday. Is he hurt or possible callup today?
  4. I wouldn't say they have a lot of work to do, although they obviously will need to continually re-build their pitching staff. Their position player group is set up extremely well for the next 5 years. I would. People throw around the word dynasty way too much. They've won a single World Series. While they have a lot of young talent on their roster it guarantees them absolutely nothing. They have a lot of work to do.
  5. The Cubs are nowhere near a borderline dynasty. Come on man. Lots of work left to do for them.
  6. 50 games into the season and we find ourselves in first place so far. The next 50 games will tell us a lot about what we should expect come the end of July. If we are in a similar spot, I don't expect a huge buy at the deadline but I also don't expect to sell off the farm either. I actually think if we are in a similar spot, there are the Jerry Harrison's of the world that can't help push this team towards a run at the playoffs come August and September.
  7. I think Drake might be the guy leaving shortly. His stat line is pretty terrible.
  8. Villar with two hits today. Gonna need him to heat up. I agree on Santana. He is overlooked by many because of the guys in the minors. If he can learn to play average defense out in right, look out.
  9. Pina answering Bandy's shot from yesterday. We gotta think of a great nickname for that catching duo. Just awesome.
  10. It's more than likely that it just becomes $20m more spent than it ever does $20m we can't spend. It's Marks money. He knew the risk before ever signing Braun. I'm sure he has seen his return.
  11. Because none of the guys that will be in the lineup come 2019-2020 will be making any significant amount of money. Along with that, it is a pipe dream that the Brewers go sign a TOR type pitcher, let alone two. This rebuild bodes well for cheap, young players into the 2020's and if Braun is still here, it won't stop them from getting a free agent or two down the line. Why is it s pipe dream? Maybe MA and DS won't go there, but Mark A. has been known in the past to be very aggressive with TOR pitching with the Sabathia and Greinke trades. He tried to extend Sabathia, too. If the Brewers are a contender in 2019 and 2020 and he's got money to spend I think it's possible he at least tests the waters on a top tier starter if he thinks it's a good fit and the market isn't too ridiculous. I'm not saying it'll happen, but I don't think it's totally outside the realm of possibility. Because not only will it cost the Brewers $30m+ per year, it will also be for about 5-7 seasons. Cannot see the Brewers ever going down that road. Maybe a trade for one on the back end of their deal but to go out and strike a deal for a pitcher that will demand that type of salary just doesn't seem realistic for the Brewers to do.

  13. Actually, we have 2 counting CC Sabathia's error game, which should have been a no hitter. Almost forgot. Yes, you are completely right.
  14. I'm for it. He's not young either so we might as well treat him like he's a 130 gamer anyways. I agree that Phillips should be called up and Aguilar should be playing 1B pretty much daily.
  15. Houston and Texas play out west a lot and being even closer to his home are two factors that could intrigue him if that team is running away with it. Never know.
  16. We finally won again!!! Three games over!!! With a Cubs loss tonight, we'll be back in 1st place a top the NL Central where we belong!
  17. That is Brewers baseball for ya. Because we lack a quality history, we have to build up no hitters that reach the 8th inning. They'll probably have Bandy and Anderson on for a 25 year anniversary special of this game.
  18. You may be right but you're probably going to have to deal with him for a little while longer. Not even June 1st yet.
