  1. Every time I see Anderson speak, I always feel he is going to be Australian.
  2. He was paid $5m for his services. Most likely he will get every opportunity to stick with this club and turn it around. Just the economics of it.
  3. IMO We are not signing one, let alone two TOR pitchers. It just ain't happening. No matter of Braun is on the books or not you'll be really lucky to get one of the right situation falls to us.
  4. Please let this day be the day that they have to retire Rock from talking about the only no hitter in our history.
  5. That last hit by Santana has me smiling. Shows his progression as a young guy. He had a horrendous at bat with bases loaded pulling off three straight sliders away. This at bat he waits back and smacks one into right to extend the lead. Fun to watch these guys grow.
  6. You have one no hitter in team history. Please let Anderson throw as many pitches as it takes to get this one.
  7. Velocity is measured with Statcast this year, as opposed to PITCHF/X in the past. Main difference is that the old system only recorded velocity at one point, something like 50-60 feet away. Statcast tracks it the entire way, and gives the highest number which will be right after the ball leaves the hand. Overall it's ~1mph higher than before. I think I actually remember them discussing that on the TV now that you wrote that. They had Anderson up to 97 at one point today. Just doesn't feel like he is tossing it 97 or ever could toss it 97. That being said, if he can keep his pitch count in control he may K 15 today.
  8. I don't know if he's just trying too hard lately or what, because it looks like he is at times, but he's 3 for his last 29 with no extra base hits. Really struggling. I hope he can heat up again. I actually think he might be a good trade candidate. Reasonable contract and can play 1B/LF. I wouldn't mind giving Cooper and Aguilar August and September to figure out if we have something there.
  9. I'm not sure I believe these radar guns anymore. Anderson has been clocked around 95-96 multiple times today. I just don't remember him throwing that hard. If he does. Bring up Woodruff or Lopez and put him in the pen too.
  10. 1/3rd of our payroll isn't a mole hill, $80M isn't a mole hill, and I think I've adequately explained why it isn't. That would be true with any player whether i liked him or not. But by all means go with the 'I'm going to attack that opinion since I don't share it' approach. I'm just sharing my opinion and I believe it's a valid one. My opinion is that your negativity is mainly led by a dislike of Braun. People can tell you that the contract won't really effect much going forward with the rebuild. You'll continue to toss around the figures like you have insight into MA and Stearns minds. You don't, I don't. We can each share an opinion. You don't have to always snap back.
  11. I have only been to Busch Stadium, the Metrodome, Miller Park and County Stadium. I actually went to County Stadium to see the Packers play the Eagles when I was pretty young with my parents.
  12. The fact that Thames still has an OPS of 1.000+ is amazing. Can't remember the last good day at the plate he's had.
  13. More negative speculation just to hate on Braun because of dislike for him. We sure love to make mountains out of mole hills.
  14. Always love walking the leadoff guy. But to one up that, walk the first two of the game. Inexcusable.
  15. Rodney's stat line looks a lot like our ex closer. Interesting
  16. Sorry, this makes no sense. You won't jump on Wily because he's been good out of the pen until tonight, which has been 2 outings? But put it all on Knebel because he didn't get it done when we needed even though he's been much better out of the pen for much longer? Knebel was bound to give one up at some point. He's been outstanding. Knebel has been great. I have no complaints with him. He just didn't get the job done. Should've never got to Wily tonight. Too many guys on these boards pick out the same guys to destroy anytime something doesn't go right. It's okay to say Knebel didn't get the job done when this team badly needed a win and be pissed about it.
  17. I'm not going to jump on Wily tonight. He's been good out of the pen until tonight. Knebel didn't get the job done when we needed him too. This one falls on him.
  18. I don't get not trying to steal Broxton there. I would rather that than bunt. Use the speed dangit.
