Really nice at bat for Pina right there. I try to keep reminding myself of the bright spots so I don't go insane over this season and he and Bandy have been a huge bright spot.
Hughes is a joke. Very fortunate it isn't 9-2. Thought that one was off the CF scoreboard. Not that 6-2 or 9-2 makes a bit of difference at this point. It will when this team rallies for 2-3 runs and we lose 6-4 or 6-5 lol
When I was at Miller Park yesterday I over heard many saying stuff like where are we, St. Louis? Where are the people of Milwaukee? Etc... I have to agree with them. Very small crowd for a Saturday night (even though there was a Bucks game in the afternoon) and there were a lot of Cardinals fans in the house. Pretty sad stuff. Never really thought of Wisconsin people as fair weather.
Now that Aguilar's hot streak is over and he only can play first base, can we move him down and bring up someone with more flexibility and possibly give us a bit more with the bat? Good spring training story and it was fun the first week but there's really no reason to keep him around now.
Jimmy set himself up a possibility of getting through six innings now if Counsell wants. I think I would let him start the inning and if walks a guy, take him out.
Is his range out there in LF really that bad, or was he just playing way too deep for some reason? Can't believe how long that ball hung up there without being caught. Jam shot on a homer run hack. Very easy to get a bad jump on it because you're taking a step back. His range is fine as he made a diver last night on a tougher ball.
Look at Bonds, who was the king of walks. Thats why I am saying Thames isnt just good, he is Bonds good, at least so far. So there is a connection between PED's and having a good eye at the plate?
I do agree that they should be cooking brats on a grill somewhere in the stadium for those that want that. Should be out in the outfield somewhere. But yes, the concession area is awesome. Top notch indeed. Had the beef nachos last night and the beef was very good.
I didn't know PEDs help your patience at the plate. Dude has a tremendous eye right now. His swings were awful yesterday but still walked three times. Now that's impressive.
Being concerned is one thing. Overreacting is another. There's just no reason to mess with Villar at this point. If we are mid May, headed into June and he still stinks, maybe start reacting.
This is not at all what it's about. Other players and coaches should keep their yappers shut unless they have some proof. What bush league comments and about a guy for all they know may have just simply busted his ass back to where he is now. Tired of the witch hunts.
Anyone know when we pass the Super 2 status for Brinson? How about Hader and Woodruff? Three guys that could help this team if they can figure out a way to stay around .500
So you cared that Broxton didn't play every single game but a more highly thought of prospect in Phillips who is a lot younger than Broxton is okay to have sit on the bench most days?
I'm not sure I read anywhere in this thread about pulling the plug on Broxton in April. A bunch mentioned, including myself, that if his poor play continues and Brinson is playing well that you make the switch. And many mentioned that it must be after the Super 2 status.
