  1. Is there a SS or RP worth sending Hart over for? Let Gamel play first, Aoki RF. I like Hart but his contract is almost up, could maybe get something for him now. Unless we play to resign him again and I would only do that as a first basemen
  2. Anabal Sanchez is a guy that intrigues me.
  3. Ya Scooter is an interesting player. What do we do with him? Weeks isn't going anywhere.
  4. I want him lights out so we can't send him down. Fiers & Thornburg in the rotation from here on out!
  5. No one gives Gonzalez a chance to comeback? Is there any FA to be at that position?
  6. No way Wolf is around next season. Not good enough to pay $10 mil.
  7. Roughly $50 million is going to be spent on our lineup and bench next season. What can we do with another $50 million(if Mark will allow us to be at $100 million again) on our pitching staff? Our pitching staff really only accounts for $9 million because most guys are free agents next season. ($7.75 to Gallardo) If you toss in $20-25 million to Greinke, can they fill out their rotation and bullpen (along with signing Axford) and still keep it at or below $100 million? I think it's possible if they are creative in going about it.
  8. So to go off of the post topic about "Wasting Money" I wanted to create a thread about salaries and how they affect the Brewers going forward. I hope this is in the correct category. (I don't want to make anyone mad) I love looking at how the team breaks down contracts and what they possibly can afford and what not. Here is the players under contract for next season (2013). Starting Lineup Salary 2013: Ryan Braun- LF ($8.5M) Norichka Aoki- CF/RF ($1.25M) Corey Hart- RF/1B ($10M) Rickie Weeks- 2B ($10M) Aramis Ramirez- 3B ($10M) Jonathan Lucroy- C ($1.9M) Alex Gonzalez- SS ($4M) TOTAL(7 players): $45.65 Million The Rest: Mat Gamel- 1B ($480K) Taylor Green IFUtil ($480K) Martin Maldonado- C ($480K) TOTAL: $1.44M Other Missing Players: CF: Schaffer- $480K, Gomez- $2M+(arby) SS/Util: League minimum guy or minor league guy- $480K TOTAL: $960K GRAND TOTAL FOR 12 Players for 2013: $48.05 Million
  9. Vargas > Dillard and can give you more than one ****** inning when we are getting blown out.
  10. If Lawrie was at 3B, then no, ARam would not be signed. And just because a guy is an "RBI machine" isn't saying much. RBI are more indicative of opportunity, i.e. where someone bats in the order and whether guys are on base in front of him. I like ARam but saying he's an RBI machine doesn't carry much weight. Man, you love to argue don't ya? This guy drives in runs. That's been his job his whole career and for the most part has done it very successfully and on some not so great teams too.
  11. Wolfy battles. Not a ton of stuff just real smart and battles his guts out each start. Gotta respect that and his long career.
  12. In some ways I wish Lawrie could have been kept. Would've done some real damage in Milwaukee but I understand the idea of getting Marcum too. We aren't in the playoffs last year without him most likely. I'm glad we have Ramirez though. He's a proven RBI machine. Does he not get signed if we still have Lawrie? Lotta things to question.
  13. Two outs, you drag the throw away from home to score the run. You watch to make sure Braun scores and if he doesn't you stop to get him home before the out.
  14. LET GET IT DONE TODAY BOYS!! Man I hope they sign Greinke. Cy Young pitcher to go along with our MVP player in Braun. Can't beat that. Build around those two!
  15. JUST PUT GOMEZ IN CF AND LEAVE HIM THERE!!! He catches that ball probably and if not, Doumit is held to a single at least. Damnit. Is Morgan giving us anything more with his bat? NO! Stop it RR and play your best players. (I get that they may be trying to showcase Morgan but people know what he brings to the table. He's a headache that should not of been asked back)
  16. Agree to disagree. I like Rock. But he has very stupid comments, each and every game.
  17. Talk about timing. (see post below yours) OK I wasnt hearing things. But at least it was only Rock's opinion and not what might happen.
  18. Could someone tell me if they heard earlier that Estrada will start when he is off the DL? I thought I had heard that he was guaranteed to be a starter but maybe I've just had too many beers already! If this is true, what a shame. Estrada is a great long relief pitcher and keeps us in a lot of games when our starter struggles. Would hate to lose that bridge to our 6-9 inning guys.
  19. Very understandable, but Rock said something like this... "The Brewers better score a bunch of runs so that doesn't become an issue" Well the only way it could have been an issue is if Weeks did not score. Well Aoki had already singled to score TWO runs. Hence, Rock is a moron. Likeable guy, but a moron.
  20. He's getting worse and worse each season. Just one random stupid comment after another outta him. For a guy that played the game, and played catcher of all positions, he sure sounds like a fool at times.
  21. Not to get too far ahead but if this team, this injury plagued team with a bunch of no name backups playing while guys like Weeks, Morgan, Hart, Wolf, Gallardo, Krod are underachieving, GETS to .500 before this All-Star break... well I don't know what I'll do but I'll love every minute of it!
