  1. 3TO with a K, a HR, and a BB. The world is at peace.
  2. That is the epitome of "Clogging up the Basepaths."
  3. Baaaaaarf...On the bright side I did not choose to attend this game.
  4. Rluz had the exact right idea about taking McClung out of the after he completed his second round through the order.
  5. To a certain extent, yes. I do not believe that Kapler's hit is going to springboard the Brewers to great things for the rest of the season. After all, even the Mariners and Royals will have inspirational moments. But if you take a look at what Kapler's hit did for the devoted Brewer fan then you might get a different answer. In the immediate sense it was Kapler's hit that brought a little more happiness to my Memorial Day. In a more long-term sense the hit temporarily delayed the moment in which I swear of baseball forever.
  6. It seems as if the Brewers make a silly out on the bases in pretty much every game they play. Does anybody know how many they've made in relation to the rest of the league?
  7. Barf. I'm officially jealous of the Nationals offense.
  8. My expectations are pretty modest. Give me something meaningful to watch for 100+ games. The 2008 Brewers have failed in meeting even that goal. It's hard for me to justify the financial and emotion investment I make on this team every year when being out of it in May is the rule, not the exception. That is exactly how I feel, and that's exactly why I look back at the 2005 season so fondly. That team finished the season very strong and gave me reason to feel nervous about the outcome of a late-September baseball game. All I want is a decently competitive team. Is 81-81 really too much to ask for?
  9. I have taken comfort in the fact that the Milwaukee Brewers are not alone in their under-achieving. I believe it will be therapeutic for the rest of Brewerfan.net to take a look at how some other "playoff contenders" are performing: Detroit Tigers, 5th place, 17-27 Offensive vitals: .257/.334/.404 Pitching vitals: 4.98 ERA, 1.51 WHIP Seattle Mariners, 4th place, 18-27 Offensive vitals: .248/.307/.380 Pitching vitals: 4.31 ERA, 1.47 WHIP Colorado Rockies, 3rd place, 18-27 Offensive vitals: .258/.329/.392 Pitching vitals: 4.59 ERA, 1.49 WHIP San Diego Padres: 5th place, 16-30 Offensive vitals: .235/.303/.348 Pitching vitals: 4.31 ERA, 1.38 WHIP
  10. This is an example of an article from The Onion being too life-like. I thought it was real until I clicked on the link...it's nice to see the writers at The Onion making another quality Wisconsin reference. Good for them.
  11. If Zambrano hates him then he has to be doing something right!
  12. The schedule becomes a lot more favorable after the Boston series!
  13. I can live with a big inning, but when that big inning is caused in large part by Gary Bennett I have to draw the line.
  14. I have a hard time watching anything past season 8 of The Simpsons. In my opinion seasons 3-7 are about as good as anything you will ever see. After that, not so much. As for Family Guy, I feel pretty much the same way as Trey Parker and Matt Stone do, but still watch Family Guy from time to time.
  15. The Milwaukee Brewers are proof that God hates us and wants us to be miserable.
  16. Wasn't Sheets' contract essentially the same thing? If I remember correctly, Sheets completed his 4th season in 2004 and signed a 4-year, $38.5 million deal in the off-season, which bought out two free agent seasons.
  17. I second that. And we still don't know the ultimate fate of Riske.
  18. I would be sick to my stomach as well if I didn't think there was a good chance this would happen...I am encouraged by the past two starts by Parra, however.
  19. Bill Hall Career vs. Lefties: .274/.354/.495/.849 Russell Branyan vs. Righties: .231/.332/.479/.811 Bill Hall Career vs. Righties: .256/.304/.453/.757 3TO Career vs. Lefties: .215/.297/.469/.766 Granted, Branyan is 32 and probably won't be getting any better. That said, a Branyan/Hall Platoon would be exceptional, and a return to the super-sub role for Hall is at the very least worth a shot. DFA McClung, recall Branyan, return to first place. Simple as that.
  20. At the very least I get to feel happy for the next 17 hours! I still can't believe that just happened! WOOOOOOOOO!!! For those of you scoring at home, that's BS #5 for Izzy in 16 chances.
  21. I'd bet $53.86 that the majority of posters on this website, given one week of training, would be better at picking balls out of the dirt than Prince Fielder.
  22. Rememer the scene in 'Terminator 2' when Sarah Connor tossed a set of keys to a security guard and then hit him in the guy with a billy club when he tried to catch them? That clip reminded me of that scene, which, like the rest of the movie was perfect in every possible way. Also! A 22-inning scoreless streak for the Mariners? That sounds to me like a team that used to call Seattle home...
  23. According to baseball-reference.com, Clark has earned $9,171,500 between 2002 and 2007. He never has to work another day in his life. Brady Clark was one of the few gritty battlers that deserved the title. He always got on base at a decent clip and could be counted on for a good at bat. And let's not forget his catch in Colorado during the 2003 season. Perhaps the most spectacular in I've seen anyone in a Brewers uniform make.
  24. That HR made my stomach churn. On the bright side, you can count on Yo to keep his composure.
  25. Atta Boy, Prince! Now let's get some insurance! P.S. Anyone know how far that ball flew?
