  1. Olson is really falling apart here.
  2. It's not like he was breaking any sort of cardinal rule or anything.
  3. I'm seriously beginning to wonder just how good James really is. He was awful for the second half of last season and he has been terrible in these camps. I think we'll find out for sure this season, if he comes back, that is.
  4. Where in the minors was Villanueva when we got him for Franklin? What kind of prospect was he?
  5. I guess what worries me about the Cubs is what would happen if they got actual bullpen help. If that happens they could become a very serious threat.
  6. Obie has shown the ability to dominate once in a blue moon, but what really concerns me is offense of the Marlins. Vargas is going to have to be on top of his game.
  7. Seeing that the Cubs are our #1 rival/contender I think that it makes sense to keep tabs on what they might be doing to improve over the course of the season. What rumors have been floating out there?
  8. At first I thought you were talking about this tidy 3-12 slump.
  9. I didn't think it was possible, but this team is in danger of falling below .500.
  10. If this team makes the collapse of the '04 Brewers look like a hiccup then we have a really, really, really, really big problem on our hands.
  11. You beat me to it, Mr Tuba.
  12. Wayne Franklin was traded for Carlos Villanueva, think Melvin could work his magic with Mench?
  13. I don't know what Hardy has to do to get a hit. He's ben hitting the ball very well, but just been unlucky. On the bright side, the Cubs are down 2-0 and the Bucco's lost, so the Brewers may have an opportunity to pick up a game.
  14. I love to see Gross get more playing time. That guy is an OBP machine. I would like to get rid of Mench, move Hall to catcher, and Gross to CF. You read that right.
  15. I agree with Brett. Bush has proven over the course of his career that he does not suck. His 6.13 ERA is the combination of bad luck, poor pitching, and perhaps a dead arm. Carlos Zambrano has been just as bad, yet, like Bush, I doubt he'll continue to struggle for the rest of his career.
  16. And the Dodgers have tied the Cubs!!! And the bases are loaded with no outs!!! And now the Dodgers have the lead, 9-8! Juan Pierre made an out, but it was productive!!!
  17. The Brewers are 4-11 in their last 15 games for a .267 win percentage. Although that is not going to continue for the rest of the season, until it stops I am going to keep on being frustrated.
  18. Dave Bush is a lot better than his current 6.13 ERA would indicate. Not including tonight he has a 4.42 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and .262 BAA in 500.2 IP. At worst he is an average Major League starter, which would make him a very valuable commodity. I do believe that he will come around, the question, however, is whether or not the Brewers can wait for that to happen.
  19. Tony Graffinino OPS: 501 Barry Bonds OBP: 503 Advantage: Bonds
  20. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the largest lead the Brewers have had in the division is 8 games. Assuming they lose tonight they will have dropped 4 consecutive series and 10 of their last 14. However, with the Cubs losing and the Astros down 6-1 with 4 outs to work with, the Brewers will have only lost 1.5 games on their lead. Is that right?
  21. The Brewers have had their chances to get back into the game, but they seem hell-bent on losing tonight.
  22. The Cubs and Astros are certainly doing their best to keep the Brewers in first place.
  23. This outfield is a bit of a mess. There has to be a way we can trade Gross and Capellan to the Nationals for Chad Cordero, and then place Graffy on waivers and bring up Braun. That would be nice.
