  1. I was looking over some stats at Baseballprospectus.com and I noticed that some of the baseballers on the Milwaukee Brewers are really, really bad on defense. Here's what I found using FRAA (fielding runs about average, on the left) and FRAR (fielding runs about replacement, on the right): Prince Fielder: -13, -5 Rickie Weeks: -3, 9 Ryan Braun: -15, -8 Bill Hall: -12, 0 Kevin Mench: -4, 0 Johnny Estrada: -4, 12 Total: -51, 8 Jenkins, Counsellino, Hardy, Miller, and Hart are all at least average. If my calculations are correct, the Brewers would be about 5 wins better right now if the top group played average defense. I'm sure that will in no way haunt the club for the rest of the season.
  2. We don't have to worry about the Brewers blowing 5-run leads in the playoffs!
  3. Why do I even bother with this team? In order to finish above .500 they're going to have to go 20-21 the rest of the way. I do not believe that they are capable of doing that.
  4. 9) I told them that Ben Sheets isn't injury prone, but his back injury was one injury that spanned late one year and into the next and no injury would occur. Yeah, I got burned by that one as well.
  5. The recent roadtrip was the sweat-shop scandal. http://www.impawards.com/1998/posters/baseketball.jpg
  6. I saw that. I know that he was dressed as Rubin Farr from 'Rubin and Ed,' so it's possible he was not on acid. I cannot confirm that because 'Rubin and Ed' is not available on DVD.
  7. There's something about this guy that has me intrigued. I loved him as George McFly in the first Back to the Future, I thought he was great as Willard, and I even enjoy Clowny Clown Clown. So, are there any other Crispin Glover fans out there?
  8. Today I was overcome with so much fury that I threw my shoe against the wall as hard as I could. I am not having fun.
  9. The Brewers at should have won 4 more games than they did. They can't keep on blowing games in horrific fashion...can they?
  10. The high road has it's perks, that is, if everything works out in your favor. I went to the UW-Iowa game in Iowa City last season and the friend I was with brought along a fellow that was most obnoxious. After every Iowa score/UW turnover/UW punt he would get in my face and scream "High five!" I just sat there and did nothing. After UW clinched the game and the fellow was leaving the stadium I tapped his shoulder and pointed to the scoreboard. It was my finest hour.
  11. It is fine! Everything is fine.
  12. I'd tell them to (expletive) off, or at least explain to them that true fans aren't total jerks. True fans understand how frustrated Brewer fans are and would refrain from taunting them because they know what we're going through and would not appreciate it being rubbing their face.
  13. Somehow that lyric became my celebration song. Don't ask me how.
  14. Good work Brian. Also, can anyone post a Google won't save you?
  15. Big Money goes around the world!
  16. Let's look a little deeper. After the 24-10 start the Brewers had a 10-20 slump, bringing their record to 34-30. Since then the Brewers have gone 22-15, pending today's game. Here's the thing: The Brewers lead in the division has been slowly slipping away over the past month. They struggle on the road and recently they have had a hard time crossing home plate. Even worse is that the Cubs have been playing like a team possessed. There is reason to be worried for this season, but I think it's more important to look at THE BIG PICTURE. This team is built for the long haul and should contend for the next 3-5 seasons. If it doesn't happen this year we can look forward to 2008. As Crispin Glover said, Big Problem Does Not Equal the Solution. The Solution = Let It Be.
  17. Annnnd I think it's time to pull Bush.
  18. It would have been nicer if that HR gave us the lead. I hate these 2-out rallies.
  19. How many times have the Brewers suffered after getting 2 quick outs?
  20. 'Tis a fine question. A used this title because I am not sure if you need some sort of permission to start a "Google Won't Save You" thread. I think that this is a fun game, but I don't want to step on anyone's toes.
  21. That is incorrect.
