  1. I would keep Turang at second for the long term and see what they can do about an extension that might be a win-win. He’s perfect for our philosophy as an organization. They want a shortstop caliber glove at second, i.e., a plus defender and athlete on both offense and defense. I’d also look at Frelick similarly.
  2. Ricky Moneys is like a combo of two of the all time great Brewer names, Ricky Bones and Don Money. But seriously, three of the top 50 looks like a good haul. I love how we approach it. Spread out the lottery tickets rather than skewing the budget all at the super top guys. At age 16-17, it’s so early to tell which of these guys turn into Made or Chourio and which ones become Gilbert Lara. Regarding Moneys, his profile sounds legit. Love to hear about his potential pop and competitiveness. Maybe he ends up in right. Who knows, at this point. Frontada also sounds very intriguing. Love his frame for a SS. I like a bit of a lankier frame at the position for range etc. He’s got the defense and hit tool you like to see. With the international market, the US draft system, player development, pitching lab, it’s so nice to be able to trust the process here because it is an understatement to say Milwaukee is excelling in these respects. From 2017 to now, we are consistently going to the playoffs while we have stealthily rebuilt the bulk of the roster. To keep winning rather than having to start over at the bottom with financial constraints is a testament to the organization’s process.
  3. Good grief, what a win. Hard to believe what these guys do. Durbin and Mona with the dagger baby. Grit. Mona sporting an OPS over .800
  4. Priester Uribe Durbin Turang Collins Ashby Frelick Even Blake Perkins. Without even getting into more brand name players like Peralta, Yelich, Chourio, Contreras, Woody, or even the hyped Miz, this org has a type and it’s seen in how they have been identifying guys with grit, who are team oriented, and make the little plays to win. I bet they targeted Lockridge and Siegler similarly. Pitchers like Henderson and Gasser. Synergy and chemistry over buying every star they can a la the Dodgers.
  5. Happy to see so much baseball activity here while there’s an NFL game going on. I like both sports but wish baseball could generate more interest across the board.
  6. Totally, especially for the playoffs. You’d love to have Mis, Ashby, Uribe and Megill as major factors.
  7. They found a great role and fit for him. He’s got talent and can be a weapon in this role.
  8. Two guys there I’d look hard at trying to extend early.
  9. Vaughn has talent with the bat or else he wouldn’t have been the 3rd overall pick. You’d love to see him become a Schwarber. He’s got physical ability but it’s the inconsistency and inability to weather slumps that has been a killer. If he could ever get over that, you could have a Schwarber type.
  10. I thought he was on track to be a week or so away but others could correct me.
  11. Who had Turang as being on the verge of .290, 20 HR and 80 RBI with a plus .800 ops? With his speed and defense?
  12. Man Priester was an incredible acquisition (so far, and knock on wood). Fingers crossed he’s got lasting power. More data on Chris Hook’s brilliance and organizational know-how.

  14. I couldn’t be happier with this team and the way the organization is going. This what I was waiting for, for years. Playoff baseball will be about the right things clicking at the right time. Whether that happens, I don’t know. So I’m cautious about it. But on May 15, I couldn’t have computed the synergies that have come together. If you plugged in our roster, the data, etc., I don’t think any human or AI could have calculated where we are. In the concern category, I’m probably worried about some of the arms being overtaxed. A guy like Uribe is an example. Can they all be fresh enough at playoff time? Either way, I’m happy with this organization. I’m process-oriented and our process sets us apart.
  15. I’m still patient in my view of Siegler. There’s some flexibility there that’s really appealing. Sample size is tiny so far and to me he doesn’t seem overmatched. I’m still hoping he can be a solid bench piece this year and potentially beyond considering he’s under control.
  16. Small sample size but Lockridge has a chance to be a solid role player and fits Murphy’s mold. Siegler has a chance to be another of these guys off the bench. There’s a lot of controllable time with these guys.
  17. I’m in the camp that he’s at least 12 months away, and that’s if he continues improving. You’ve got to love him physically and on defense. He’s also incredibly young. I think his bat isn’t advanced enough yet. Lot of meat left on that bone to improve first.
  18. It’s funny things don’t bother you when he’s your guy but Rea seems to work incredibly slowly. Annoying to watch as the game has changed. It’s not the Mike Hargrove era anymore.
  19. Great stuff. One of my favorite topics. Nice to see good info this early.
