It’s a big year on the development side to see if we can start getting some young arms ready for ‘26 and beyond.
Gasser - will he recover from injury and adjust to a full time starting role
Hall - can he take a step forward with consistency and reliability
Ashby - has been better in relief so can improve in a starting role
Mis - command
Henderson - not electric but knows how to pitch
KC Hunt - can he continue his ascent
Wichrowski - great arm but how long will his development take
So out of those seven guys, it’s a huge year to show the development needed to have at least a couple jump up and enter the rotation in ‘26.
When Burnes, Woody, and Freddy came up, they all had ups and downs for awhile and they were all high upside guys. They took their lumps. It’s natural to expect our young pitchers to need MLB adjustment similarly.
