  1. My feeling is not that it's his arm. He's got a knee brace and is coming off the injury. Legs are a big part of your power.
  2. Thanks! He loves watching the Brewers game replays in the middle of the night. Haha I've got a little guy too. I'm in Chicago so when the time comes I hope he picks the Brewers and *gasp* not the Cubs (if he even likes baseball).
  3. Lol great post. You're not kidding. My wife is tired of humoring me on this. My wife got so annoyed with me telling her about the Lucroy trade, but she did find the veto situation interesting. Now the trade deadline is interfering with my work and going to the park to Pokemon it up with my kids. My wife didn't seem to mind me up all night as she didn't have to get up to feed the child. Congratulations on the baby.
  4. Lol great post. You're not kidding. My wife is tired of humoring me on this.
  5. Speaking only for myself, I'm not worried about Gallo and to some extent Brinson. I would take them, but if that were available, I'd guess we could have already pulled the trigger. I'd like a pitcher with upside. Two other guys I'd like are 1b Ronald Guzman and 17 year old outfielder Leody Tavares. Guzman was a bonus baby and then took awhile to develop. He seems to have turned the corner and jumped big time in the organization prospect rankings (from the 20s to top 10 if I recall correctly). As for catcher, we just drafted a couple of nice prospects and next year's draft has two big time prospects in KJ Harrison and JJ Schwarz.
  6. MadThinker and Ohiocat, thank you for your excellent contributions to this board. It was certainly a whirlwind and ended rather bizarrely. Best wishes to your team.
  7. It's all about Meija. I know we are all disappointed but we know Stearns did all he could do. The market and hoped for bidding war didn't happen. It's surprising but it's not like Stearns did anything wrong. Stearns tried to get a big return. If Meija doesn't work out, I don't think we will look back fondly on this deal. Greg Allen is nice but he's another speed guy who can compete with Collymore, Ty Taylor, Harrison, Stomes, and Ray. Teams aren't giving up elite arms. That's why you have to draft them high when the opportunity arises.
  8. I'd look at someone like Clint Coulter or Tyrone Taylor to make this deal happen. I'd be all for it.
  9. A number of teams, most notably Boston, SF, and the Mets, are all looking for relievers even if Cleveland, Washington and the Cubs already made their moves. Let's hope something pops in our favor.
  10. I agree with the compliments to the mods but also the posters are smart, well informed, express well and provide good analysis. I'd say through the sharing of info and analysi the members are well prepared for any eventuality with trading season.
  11. Stop it now. The poster was correct. If stars hurt feelings or are offensive ban me now then. I go on here to talk baseball and listen to other Brewers fan's opinions not for someone or myself to police mine or someone else's language especially when it isn't even seen. I'm fired up about a Lucroy deal sorry for being too excited. You bring good value to the board, but keep in mind there are children that lurk at the site. It's a good reason to set a good example.
  12. I'd love to get Lucroy done so we can then shift our focus to some other deals, particularly Guerra, Thorny, Jeffress and/or Nelson. You know parameters are out there on these guys already. SF, Texas, etc. There is a lot of meat on the bones for good returns with those guys.
  13. Austin you may be right but no for me, way a deal gets done with Clevelan without Zimmer/Frazier as the headliner. Mckenzie and Mejia should be in as well. Like I have posted earlier, a Lucroy and Smith for Zimmer, Bradley, McKenzie and Mejia seems right to me. I like your thinking WTP and would be ecstatic with that. But, the tea leaves I'm reading is Cleveland wouldn't do that. My sense is Milwaukee asked for the moon, Cleveland low balled, and now they're meeting in the middle.
  14. Well if some teams are out, that means they aren't willing to match something on the table. So that could be a good sign. #fingers crossed. I hope something pops soon, I am taking family out to dinner lol
  15. Rosenthal is good. Probably the best out there. I'm crossing my fingers for Mejia, McKenzie, Hillman and maybe a lower guy like Greg Allen for Luc and Will Smith. I don't see how that's not fair and logical both ways. I'd take Chang over Allen but maybe that's just me. It sure beats the crap out of the Mets pathetic offer.
  16. How about Guerra to Texas for Leody Tavares and Ariel Jurado? That would be a larger return than Cashner's. Maybe Thorny comes in and they add 1b Ronald Guzman.
  17. Reds beat writer @m_sheldon Source says Mets "very involved" in pursuing Jay Bruce. Unlike Lucroy for Brewers, Bruce is in #reds lineup tonight.
  18. @Bnightengale There's a strong sense from #Brewers folks that Jonathan Lucroy has played their last game for them
  19. Nimmo doesn't do anything for me. TDA is an injury prone stopgap without youth or long control. I want young upside, including a pitcher. I want nothing to do with the Mets. If it were Rosario and Sypacki plus something else, we'd be on the right track. Short of that, pound sand. Keep Lucroy, I'm serious as can be.
  20. The media is NYC-centric and the Mets are leaking like crazy to their media stooges. One of the national guys, Jon Heyman from Fanrag, just claimed there are five teams in the chase, yet the media focus is on the Mets. Let's hope the Mets hype is just slanted because of their media manipulations. I really hope we don't deal with the Mets. I'd keep Lucroy and extend him over a crap offer like that. Here's Heyman's latest piece http://www.todaysknuckleball.com/inside-baseball-with-jon-heyman/heyman-mets-upgrade-offer-lucroy-nimmo/
  21. 1. Corbin Burnes may have been a steal. Don't make fun of me for sample size. I'm not basing it on sample size. We have too many posters whose sole mission is to put you in your place and disrupt the flow of discussion. I also like that the MLB folks listed him pretty high. 2. Isan Diaz is going to be extremely high on my top 25 list. An electric bat like that at second can really provide a big delta over the opponent who typically won't have so much pop there. Love the kid and I feel like he will give us an advantage. 3. Wang is not dominant but he's been steady and based on my expectations I'm pleased. His long term role is puzzling but IMO he's functioning pretty well relative to his potential. I say puzzling because I don't know that his stuff translates to the modern bullpen and I just don't know how good of a MLB starter he can be. We can just watch his development and see. 4. I'd like to see Suter in Milwaukee in good time this season. 5. It'd be great to see Clark get on a roll. His injury as well as Harrison's were unfortunate progress stoppers.
  22. Charlie Greene has been mentioned quite a bit by the front office as an outstanding catching instructor.
  23. This is off topic but funny. From Jonah Keri on Twitter. "fave story of night: doug melvin once texted theo on trade deadline - hardy for buchholz/bard...theo's reply: 'lol' "
