  1. Or I guess use that 7th rd pick on Dupre? I'm a fan. Sure they have a lot of extra RBs now, but I think maybe you're taking a different route with Special Teams. An extra RB over Linebacker type. I don't like seeing Montgomery or Cobb or players who are 1st team Offense returning punts/Kicks. Exerting energy and maybe taking a hit that suddenly changes your 1st team offense on the fly. Cobb used to be a game-changer his early years with the ball, but he's nowhere near that now. Find 1 of the 3 RBs to work as a RB, 2 if you replace Michael. Get 1 or 2 of the WRs/RBs to be your Special Teams.
  2. Our answers for the Bullpen are the SPs being turned in to Bullpen and calling up the trio of Hader, Woodruff, and Lopez. We have the 7years of team control at this point. Super 2 status can be damned, as the trio show any better signs of producing than the likes of Nelson, Peralta, Davies, you put them on track for an extension. If they don't produce better than the trio, you tried Super 2 isn't a matter since they aren't worth much. How many more games do we need to lose when scoring 6+ runs?
  3. Gotta move forward and make some changes. Time to call up Josh Hader and Woodruff then bring in Jorge Lopez for the bullpen. Send down Nelson, Davies and release Milone. Give them some chance and make adjustments as needed. Peralta gets sent down next. I'd let Nelson experience 3 starts in AAA, same with Davies, if no changes, move them to bullpen. If one improves there's your return with sending back down Hader or Woodruff if needed or thats Wily replacement. These guys aren't starters right now and the bullpen is a joke. Make the sacrifices. Nelson and Peralta's performance remind me of Mat Latos who was better at one point than these two both. Teams dropped him. You can't produce with 1.5 Whips. These two are obviously never going to be anything but below average #5s
  4. There is nothing random in 3 tests in 10days. I'd love all the Brewers on the 25man to jump up and state the amount of tests they've done this whole season. Braun has to be helping Thames with handling the tests, giving him a preview of how many he was given after his tainted test. At this rate MLB has decided Thames is Guilty until proven Guilty.
  5. That is just such a joke considering how the process works for the June Draft and the limitations on money for those players drafted. a #1 pick who may be a 21year old college kid, caps around 8/9? mil. An international kid who defects from his country meanwhile is about to make 25 or more million. I am glad they've changed the rules but to let this kid go available to sign in the '16 period vs. waiting til this July's Signing beginning is terrible. I don't get why there isn't an uproar from teams like Milwaukee on the situation. You changed the rules on the signing period and now after it, you let a kid qualify for the previous signing period? And look what's about to happen. Any of the teams who exploded their limits in '16 are the only ones who have a chance at this kid, and they know how the new system works, the hard cap, no penalties in place now. So it's the last chance to make a move like such. Can't sign anyone over 300k for next 2years. The whole process just a lottery win for Robert, who likely is cashing in 10 mil or more in the bidding war that he wouldn't have experienced otherwise in value.
  6. I was 50/50 on picking him up for a spot start on my fantasy. He owns Milw for sure. I went the other route thinking Thames/Shaw were about to change the Brewers fate vs Garcia. Nope. I was wrong. As I typed this Mr Kemp just hit a 2run HR of Jhan Marinez I haven't been a fan of him, and was surprised with his numbers last season because it seemed every time I paid attention to a game he was in, he gave up a run or more.
  7. If ESPN's little writeup on Perine is accurate, I'd think he fits the need the Packers have for a 3rd down rb. Says he's a good check down target, and a willing pass blocker. You'd pair Mongomery as 1st/2nd down back. Can maybe split him wide on a 3rd down with Perine in that case. I don't want to go to the 5' 10inch Desmond King due to the size. Out of ESPN's next 25 there are 2 intriguing OL, 2 Linebackers, and of course 2 WRs that I'd think of fitting Thompson draft approach to fill this team's needs.
  8. Arcia with B2B games of HRs just put his OPS on season above .700 added a long double to that HR today. 4th straight game 8runs or more scored. Top 5 scoring team in the NL this year? Try shooting top 5 for all of MLB! The way its going. Stay Healthy Crew! (Of course Yankees/Red Sox 4hr marathons 14-11 final score pads their stats well)
  9. Considering our Defensive injury history, this is a great depth pick. WalterFootball lists him #5 for a DT and projected 2-3rd round. ESPN had him 102nd, with little to none of need above him. Josh Jones also a 2-3 on Walter. ESPN had him 43rd overall. King 1-2 on Walter. ESPN had him as 22nd overall. Going great honestly, value and needs.
  10. I Love the Safety Pick. Such a huge need! We got King this is a great start in 2picks. 3rd round WR time? Or DE?
  11. Was browsing through the teams and their picks. Seems unlikely unless we want to drop 10 or more picks. Trying to figure out guys that would be worth jumping up for, Cook, King, Mixon? I just don't see the big name not drafted who fell after these last few selections. Then it amounts to the teams that would trade up have already spent some of their draft picks in trades. So while #2 maybe be flipped, you're looking at 4s instead of 3s or like I said, just dropping too far to risk your guys being picked.
  12. Yes I do and you do realize that only Sale averaged 7 IP per start last year right? In 2016 there wasn't even a pitcher other than Sale that matched your qualifications as a #2. So yes your expectations of a #2 is extremely off base. Already that is false. Kershaw averaged more than 7IP a start. Maybe I should infer pitches in to the 7th inning, and not leaving 9outs for the bullpen.
  13. Great, watching the video and knowing Kendall is an OF, he'll be the Brewers pick.
  14. Again, or be on average for that number. Making 21Starts like Kershaw did last season eliminates him from that, yet we all know he's the #1 Ace out there.
  15. I think if a team trades up as Chi and KC did they should only get 2mins to make their selection. Why in a trade up does KC need 10mins to make their pick? Well there goes McKinley who would have been the pairing to Kenny Clark. So many CBs going to be there for GB
  16. Right now there are 5 CBs in ESPN's top available that rank in the 16-24. Deshaun Watson right in the middle of that 19 picks away from Pack's selection
  17. You're forgetting starts 31, 32, and 33. but yes to me a #2 is giving 210IP whether in 30 or 34 starts with ERAs/Fip below 3.45 As a #2 he shouldn't struggle to go 7IP as 8IP and a CG or 2 should occur as such designation. In which case those extra outs make up for a 5-6IP start. You understand that production graph was to Playoff Teams of Last season only. Injuries/ Innings Limits are a part of that 1 year figure. Now if you don't provide 210 IP because you don't reach 30-34 games Started, you should be on that trajectory if you did get 30 starts. Chase is on a 180/30 GS pace as of current. Just that right there should indicate he's nowhere near a #2. Not getting to 200IP? A #2 is going to ask for 18-25mil per season. Maybe more. Tell me you think paying Anderson that is remotely realistic. I could argue would you consider Jose Quintana an Ace? because to me he fits the mold of what a #2 produces. But since I'm off, you're telling me Jose Quintana is an Ace then. Chris Sale dwarfs him in production, a True Ace by the numbers. Quintana, the #2 I am calling #2s.
  18. Trout has 35mil coming to him per year in a contract signed what? 1 year ago extending his team control just 2years. Not saying he'll get 75million, but Harper may get 50million in a season in his FA contract. I think right now a Team would pay Thames 20mil a year after this start. 11HRs in less than 1month? Think Playoff time and the contract for Cespedes who's HR ability in spurts is a game changer. Thames just became that and higher.
  19. Doesn't help when you are old and have missed 2 of the last 3 seasons due to knee injury. And an atrocious offensive line, close to the worst in the league bad. Oh like the Packers for running? So how does that help him?
  20. He was called up because Joc Pederson's injury. I doubt he sticks in the Majors beyond Pederson's return from injury.
  21. In now way does Chase Anderson possess a #2 borderline. He's nowhere near 7IP giving in starts consistently. When you hand over the funal 9outs to the bullpen thats a #3 at best. Off to this great start but 1 game he went 7IP. He needs to consistently put out 7IP to be borderline #2. Guerra was and is the only Brewer Starter that has a borderline ability for #2 stats. Everyone else are #3s or borderline 3s as #4s.
  22. Braun at 5 made it to the Brewers in under 900PAs.Ray is a top 5 college selection so hes playing at levels his age, which for a high prospect makes him old for. Schwarber, Happ top 10 selections who either made it to the ML team or is knocking on the door in Happ. Cant tell me Ray is anywhere close to joining the Brewers this season. And you know that makes him waiting til July next season at earliest. He's just too old for the stats he's trying to bring. Something that Harrison, Clark, Demi O, Phillips possessed a higher ceiling already to. Theres not one tool that is elite, maybe all will be above average, but none will be elite.
  23. I feel like the Brewers were set in on Delvin Perez last year and just before the draft his PED finding and they selected their BPA in Ray who they just set with where everyone else was and didn't adjust. We're up to 300PAs now with Ray and he's scraping a .700OPS .308OB. It was such a poor selection, passing up promising HS Pitchers. You just can't sell to me that he was the BPA in that draft over the likes of Groome, Garrett, or Manning. Kyle Lewis and Blake Rutherford better ceilings than Ray for OF. How do you even determine BPA? BPA for current? a .800OPS CF in Ray over the .900+OPS OF of Rutherford ability because he's 18? Or are you taking BPA based on what you think their ceiling is? Because how was Ray's even remotely higher than Groome's or Rutherford? We are not the Cubs who drafted Bats over and over because you know what? They can sign 20mil+ per year FAs to improve the weaknesses to their team. In Lackey and Heyward's case also giving up their 1st rd pick in doing so. Finding a premiere SP is so huge to a Franchise. Kershaw went 7th in 06. Bumgarner went 10th in 07. We've taken OFs with 15 and 5 picks and now come around to 9 this year. Sale was 13th in the 2010 draft. These potentials would have been there for Milw to draft 3 straight years, and thus far they've passed on the first 2. They missed on Triston McKenzie twice in '15 taking Clark then Kirby. Mike Soroka, James Kaprielian, Walker Buehler Pitchers picked after Clark who are already ranked ahead of him in the top 100. Come next year I imagine a list of 4 or 5 SPs will be ahead of Ray who the Brewers didn't pick. I realize the Kodi Medeiros pick looks a failure for producing a SP but we have a back end bullpen arm you know out of it. There's going to be a number below who they didn't pick, like Luiz Ortiz who are coming forward to be SPs. Booms or Bust trying. while Kodi has the bust look how are Harrison/Gatewood looking to start this year, bringing up the booms this year while being younger than Ray is still. I feel the draft strategy for Milw needs to be booms and heliums and not the Higher Floor/less likely to bust types. Prince Fielder was that kind of Pick. You hit and you have a Franchise player. You don't so be it, you rebuild through trades. Shaw, Villar, Santana, Broxton, the catchers they may not be superb ceiling types possessing flaws but they are floor types that fill out your roster while you await hitting some Booms in the draft, of course you gotta make Boom type picks.
  24. Chases has been a trade candidate since the day Milw acquired him. 2years and counting. He's a rebuild pitcher, not someone you trade for a playoff stretch. If his velocity was higher and 3rd pitch stats were improved maybe then he's someone you look in to, but if he's the same pitcher statistically, he's not getting anything from a playoff team
  25. Only thing Id think of with a Reed por Wren trade to Pittsburgh is for cash and opening a 40man spot. Because in no situation will the fans for the Pirates understand trading for an OF with little to none ML experience when they know Meadows is sitting there waiting in their system. I think this kind of move would just be ahead of saying we were going to waive Reed or Wren to open a 40man spot anyway. I'd think Kirk N. jas a more realistic shot to be handed to Pittsburgh, but then again Kirk N's H/A splits being so awful Pitts must believe that road split is the guy they'd be acquiring.
