  1. Reading comments that the signing of Robert will cost 25-30mil and ditto when taxed. 50-60million investment. So St Louis and the Padres make it seem most likely. Sadly I think ST. Louis will win signing him as San Diego would be at 130-140million spent for the 16 signing period. Lol!!
  2. Wilson, @Ryan, and Dalton the 1st 3 QBs the Packers face to start the season. Let's add @Prescott, Brees, Flacco, @Roesthlisbuerger, Winston, and @Newton. I'd expect Cleveland to draft one of the rookie QBs who you never know, add Stafford, Bridgwater? It's going to be a long season if the secondary isn't addressed. Or you had better put together a Pass rush that won't give these QBs time in the pocket. This has gotta line up as one of the hardest schedules in the NFL this season
  3. I hope he's not on the trading block. Dude really loves Milwaukee: https://www.theplayerstribune.com/jabari-parker-milwaukee-bucks-playoffs/ That article right there explains he's about team and not I. Pretty amazing writing, you can feel his emotion. I am hoping the team takes it carefully and he doesn't become the next Derrick Rose with his knees. But in this write-up of his, It would sound like he's committed to being a Buck like Giannis.
  4. Tough to get starts when Thames is ahead of you on the depth chart. How can you sit Thames and start Aguilar? You are also looking for Games for Perez so just leaves Thames at 1b with Perez for the utility. He's only 0-5 now as PH with a Walk and an RBI. Tough to claim his Spring wasn't a representation of what he brings to the order because of 6 PH PAs in last 10 Brewers' games played. You're asking for PAs/game time from the guy who's #1 in Baseball in 5 categories at the start of this game. I agree and stated in another thread, I think he's next to be moved to make room for someone.
  5. I'm really thinking Aguilar will be optioned next. Hasn't started in 10games which coincides with last time he had a hit. Needs to be playing every day. With him not starting he's a 1 position pony coming off the bench which doesn't fit the team. Reed who's on the 40man has a 14:10 bb/K ratio. Low BA, but if we're looking at a backup the discipline at the plate is a positive for PH ABs.
  6. Love it when Braun produces. At this point he's such an underdog for the reason of hate, and he keeps producing. It's too bad he missed his chances vs. Waino but games aren't over with hit bat.
  7. Thinking Kirk N's Lefty bat doesn't have a usefulness on the team and was DFA'd because there isn't a need for what he brings to the team anymore. It is curious on the gap it leaves with CF. Maybe this is a vote of confidence to show Broxton he's the everyday CF the rest of this season. Every game, every inning. The solution may turn out being Aguilar optioned to AAA with some CF like Wren or Reed called up for light duty. Garza is going to remove either Milone or Suter.
  8. Rare game I get to watch. The ump just called strike 3 on Shaw a ball at his letters. What a huge K call. 3-2 1 out if called properly, I'd guess Thames/Braun run on that next pitch. Santana robbed on a liner that was snared by the SS.
  9. Even if Hader and Woodruff were the #1 and #2 prospects in all of baseball, they threw 126 and 158 innings respectively last year. There's little chance they would be allowed to pitch much more than 160 or 180 innings this year which gets you to maybe early September. Thats a good call. But lets say you move Hader to Bullpen when you trade Feliz. Woodruff you can plan some innings limits in May/June. Bullpen in the minors and stretching him back out the last 2weeks of the deadline when you move any or multiple SPs. Or put both in Bullpen and you spend Playoffs with a couple Bullpen games around 2 starters? Say Nelson was 1starter. Anderson/Davies lead game two with Bullpen guys. Game 3 Peralta or Guerra. Game 4 would be Woodruff, Hader bullpen. Looking for 3IP out of them. Probably should put Hader with Anderson and Davies with Woodruff for a real change of pace. You look for 3-4 IP getting 6-7 total out of the two. Finish with your setup/closers. You know it'll be fun regardless if the series is a complete wreck because hey were supposed be at rebuilding stage not prepared for a Post-season. Hader and his innings seems perfect for a Bullpen addition late in the season, Woodruff can probably handle more than 180IP isnt it like 24-30IP a ground rule these days? Or how about they piggyback the two as the 6th man rotation come mid July?
  10. How about Trevor Story? Wasnt his rookie year and 1st week or 2 filled even hotter than Thames at this point?
  11. Then there never has been a rebuilding team in the history of MLB. Because no team has had a run differential of 810+ runs.[/quote I mean really? Read that line again, and see how terribly off you are. Guess were playing 300games in the season to arrive to your number. Let's try football instead. The Cleveland Brows, a constant rebuild team loses games often by 14 or more pts. A competitive team experiences losses often by 1 possession scores. Games arent over in the 1st half rather often 4th quarters decide them. We are at the point already where we are playing games in thr 4th quarter within 1 possession scores. It's not over at halftime. As to the 2players away. Reading responses after it seems an expectation to be WS contenders requires 100wins. 2 players being pitchers that help the team reach the playoffs. Anything can happen at that point. St Louis beat us in 2011. Did our record and home team advantage matter? We can be that St Louis team and Cubs be who we were in 11. Just making the playoffs gives potential for that to happen.
  12. Again, 15 games. We did not go from a rebuilding team to a contender over the course of 15 games. Rebuilding teams win 70games and less with losses being by 5 runs or more. Competitive meaning being a .500 type of baseball team where the +/- runs will be around 0 or a +. We're +8 to this point. San Diego is -32. We're a player or 2 away from becoming a Playoff caliber team. The 8 position players are producing offensively to be a playoff caliber team. The Pitching, you add two to the SP who would be 210IP 3.35 ERA would jump this team to playoff caliber. Because yeah 15 games of half of the 8 batters doing really good, with the other half being really bad. Those 4 cool down and the other 4 go back to average the Offense is still producing like it is now.
  13. What huge fantasy impact in the NFL has a suspended player had towards someone playing fantasy football? Von Miller would be 1 of 11+ that affects the defensive pts scored if you had Denver as your defense. Has a QB or RB who is elite ever been suspended? I think that is why it isn't given much fuss when happens to a NFL player. Plus, what is it 4 games? 25% of the season vs 80 or near 50% in baseball where an owner of Marte or Dee Gordon is missing a huge player towards their fantasy stats. Starling Marte's suspension is equivalent to Le'veon Bell being suspended. Dee Gordon like Brandon Marshall. 16game season vs 162. Majority of suspensions in NFL do not impact fans outside of that team's fans. I don't know what Marte is taking PED's for, he wasn't a player whose stats needing a push higher. Hurts Pittsburgh quite a bit as a WC type of team.
  14. When giving way too much thought to money and age over production. Braun sits 12th in OPS currently for MLB. HRs 6th. SBs 8th. But you know, I'm beating a dead horse. Hey we gotta have 550k batters who may as a ceiling, bat .810-.925OPS. 2 or 6 years from now. meanwhile there's this guy who's producing .900 OPS with regularity like 10years worth of a career who will just fall off a cliff due to history for his age. How's Yoenis Cespedes doing? What could the Mets get if trading him? Nevermind the 7mil+per year it costs for his production, he's worth more by fans just because of PEDs. Braun has his ties, Cespedes doesn't. He's 31, Braun at 33 pffft! What's that? Yoenis has never completed a season with above .900 OPS? Braun's above Career Average? I suppose at 31 he can reach that, while Braun at 33 will decline from that. So while Braun will earn 17mil in 3years, Cespedes earning 29mil. Yeah makes sense. That 550k rookie/ 6year team control is worth more than Braun. Carlos Beltran was traded for Zach Wheeler at 34 with .904OPS, oh and a guy named Dillon Tate at age 39 with .894OPS. 19/15mil last year of contract value. At what point do you have to see his production continuing at a grade A level amongst all of Baseball to understand he's worth his pay and then some vs. a prospect you dream will be an A level ML player?
  15. Your other 7 must be hitting about .480 Ha I wish 1 could be that high, coming in to tonight Mitch Haniger a Waiver Wire pickup is leading my team in BA with .291 on the season. Corey Seager .283 the best from draft.
  16. With Thames start, at this point if the Dodgers were going to pry Braun from me, would require Julio Urias+. Sorry Dodgers, our team is looking better than yours
  17. And what happened to Prince Fielder? That's why I would trade Thames. Far from remotely close to automatic that Thames can do this for a year, much less four. And no, I don't want anyone to compliment Braun, want to trade him too. The comparison to me with Fielder, is that here's a Lefty Bat who can play 1b and easily on a pace of 35HRs with a high OB batting behind Braun. What Fielder did in Milw behind Braun was near the tops of MLB in 7years. Both Thames/Braun can be here for 4years and produce like the duo Braun and Fielder. Thames isn't the body type Fielder was, yes a lot of muscle on both, but Thames is more fit(thus the OF capability) Personally, I'm thinking the team can trade away pitching and actually improve down the stretch with who takes the places of Nelson/Peralta/Anderson/Davies or Guerra. Still continue a Playoff run while trading away pieces other teams may want. Milw with calling tonight's current 7run total a total for Game 15: will have 72runs scored on the season as someone in the IGT said 4 batters at or below .200 at game start. No Thames won't continue with video game stats, but neither will Arcia, Shaw, Villar, and Broxton but up below Mendoza Line stats. The offense is stupendous! Considering ourselves as a rebuilding team with needs to trade away their best Position Players is over. We're a competitive team today and will tweak the roster as need-be. Thames makes Bellinger for Braun laughable. At this point it is Ace SPs or watch the Brewers ride above .500 all year long.
  18. Can I just say that Gatewood has an 8:13 bb/k ratio in just over 40PAs to start this season when he only had 18bbs all of last season? Hader, Diplan, Woodruff, Lopez, Cody Ponce!! 0:10bb/k, Burns, and Harrison off to running starts. Trey Supak as well! This organization is about to leap right off the modest rankings and jump to #1 by mid-year. Woodruff's 0ERA in 2 starts, after his season last year is going to create pressure to get him up on the ML team.
  19. I'm sorry all, I drafted Villar and Broxton for my fantasy. Wish I had gone Braun and Thames. My Fantasy Baseball team is batting .217 for the season
  20. A prospects may be like 2/3rds of the top 25 maybe even half. At that point you drop to B prospects sprinkled with some who may have a ceiling to be an A, or are just solid bets to remain a B. But none are sure things. If Thames is about to emerge with 45+ HR ability and a .300 avg ability nvm the OB, what are you searching for trading him? To cycle Talent sure. But we have him for 4years. Let's enjoy 3years of this with maybe a WS and come back to cycle talent with him when he'll be a FA to be. Weve got Prince Fielder bat it seems to bat behind Braun. You xant ask to find a higher talent than that to compliment Braun.
  21. At this point with Thames' production, trading him should come with Stearns firing. You get an A player and walk away for Multiple B/C players you wish in the future, one turns in to an A. Stearns has a solution with Thames' and advocating he create a problem because of age, or because Melvin's history for solutions didnt work out. Just going crazy here. 1b bats arent like they used to be. Getting an A player there to plug in the next 4years is essential for the rebuild. At this point, with his cost, and projecting that bat line forward, trade discussions are over. You have a winner. Aguilar should be the trade discussion. Remember what Jason Rogers brought back for nowhere near the success Aguilar is showing?
  22. You have to wonder why fans aren't going to their games. There are more fans at Marlin games than in Cincy and that isn't saying much. They've been in a longer rebuild than Milwaukee. Their Ace this year is Scott Feldman, last year Dan Straily/Anthony Descalfini, and in 2014 after trading Cueto, Descalfini. For an Easter day, I'm not surprised because a lot of people likely visited church. a 12:10 start time would be earlier than many masses that occur that day.
  23. Kolby Allard is going to be best pitcher from that draft. 2picks away.
  24. If Otani is playing out his season this year, is he positively going to sign after the season and be for this signing period? Or will he be for 2018 signing period? How auick can MLB add him to this signing period? I guess how late is their season over there? With so many teams restricted to 300k wouldnt considering to wait to 2018 signing period comes? Of course depends who incurs penalties this yyear if thats possible? He'll know how majority of this shakes out end of July. You also have to consider is a team going to sit out without knowing Otani is becoming available to sign later in year/early next? Id assume teams go through with their targets. Come August, November, whatever month Otani is freed to sign this period, what money are majority of teams going to have left? And if a team doesnt sign anyone, and then while having 5mil to spend on Otani, get shot down by Otani and get left with 0signings and 5mil on the table wasted?
