  1. Wanting the Padres to fail because of Machado I can agree with. But for a smaller franchise, these moves and window and going for it with the elites of Tatis and Soto vs likely NY or Hou in a WS? I'm rooting on SD's side over the AL side. We can build like Tampa to remain competitive and make a WS. But Atlanta, Kansas City and SD? If they can win a WS with short window go for it. SD pulls it off this year and/or next? The landscape for trade deadline or offseaon moves may just become wild overpays. At a time when Brewer pitchers ought to see themselves traded hopefully since we'll just Tampa our way to be in the Playoffs yearly.
  2. Must have *just* crossed 5yrs. Lamet was optioned by SD on 7/11. Then back for two games vs. Twins before the trade. Boy. FO looks complete incompetent if they missed the boat that they couldn't option Lamet if they seriously intended to keep him as a piece in the trade. The luxury tax would have been 20pct for every $1 SD went over. The return for taking Lamet contract should have included a lottery prospect alone. We also took Rogers and his contract off SDs hands. Why wouldn't you acquire another RP of SDs vs an underachieving high priced rental? Because you were being fleeced. To the idea that this return may have been the best offered? There was over 24hrs left to see offers come in before taking this fleecing. Plenty of time to certainly to you know learn if Lamet could be optioned.
  3. I call BS on the whole money rebuild process. 100 losses isn't going to lose Milwaukee fans from returning when that rebuild emerges. What attendance they lose for 100losses they will recoup from having a 50ish mil payroll. The risk is from missing your draft selections(Medeiros:Ray) and the return from the trades when blowing it up(ie Marlins for Yelich) If you take longer than you should to return to competitive baseball, that's when the Fandom will desert the Franchise. Oh plus the plea that a new Stadium is a must during that downtime.
  4. Grade-F+ Jorge Lopez got 4 prospects for his 1 single good season as a RP. At least 2 are "lottery ticket" types. We took on money to help SD with their payroll to remain below a luxury tax. While that allowed them to add not only Soto but Bell. By that account. 1+seasons of Hader+$5-12mil= RP rental(7mil+roster spot) 2 not top 100 prospects. Gave away value on lost comp if kept Hader. How do we not get another lotto prospect? Or come away with one of the higher prospects used for Soto? Bush-Kelly. Is the trade at least makes sense and why the plus exists. Rosenthal-Peters is a joke of a trade. A not played in baseball due to injury and recovery should never see any player you selected in past 3 drafts. Send the guy who's going to force you to add to 40man for rule 5 protection this offseason. Worse Peters excelled enough for AA promotion. Just robbed. Failed to add a bat. Bell was a linked to having interest? Who went to the Padres whom you bailed out with payroll constraints. That team is vastly, significantly better to beat you in the playoffs than you are. Soto and Hader can be traded or kept for comps when lost. Nobody you acquired will you be giving a QO to or trading for some return on your investment of prospects. I see an Epic collapse about to happen this team actually missing the Playoffs.
  5. I hope there's a clause on the trade that the Brewers get Peters back if Rosenthal doesn't exceed 2 game appearances. Whether Peters makes the MLs or not, the opinion on him being a 7th rd nobody and is behind a large group of OFs, you know how upset you'd be if they traded Sal Frelick. Peters has Sal Frelick numbers. Is taller than Frelick which immediately puts his ceiling higher for hitting. Trading someone who is exceeding 1st year expectations vs players like Lutz who Peters is supposedly behind that continue to not meet expectations? This for an injured, yet to pitch, RP that is going to be your what? 6-7th or 11th inning guy? Padres traded for Soto and your last minute desperate move is addressing that maybe future ability over a bat?
  6. Trying to find a reason anyone likes Lamet? 2021-now out of the bullpen? 26times Run(s) allowed in 15 of those appearances. You cant be serious you're adding him for the stretch run right? This has to be a guy you're pitching to return as a SP down in AAA. (Checks in plan) Nope we're planning to let teams score 60pct of games he pitches in.
  7. What bothers me is Peter's line for his first season of pro play. .306 .386 .485 .871 101hits 22 doubles 8! Triples 7HRs 51RBI 13SB 6CS 45BB/61 KS Age 22 promoting to AA. Garrett Mitchell hasn't produced that line. Sal Frelick your top 100 prospect just about put up that number this year. How do you justify trading Sal Frelick for whatever Rosenthal at maybe 15IP might provide? If ever a Corey Ray trade worthy player was out there its the prospect of a 2yrs removed from baseball Rosenthal who maybe returns to pitching this year. Not Peter's and what he's already done his 1st year that earned him a AA promotion.
  8. Nope. Disgusting move. Went from poor to justbad to just go away with the three trades made. Team is worse after the 3 and not looking better than 48hrs ago.
  9. Overall, I give Gasser the deciding factor in years to come if the Brewers won this trade. I am not going to praise Ruiz as this amazing get when he was an after-thought prior to this great batting season. Just see Grisham first yr+ to after or even Billy Hamilton if SBs is your fix. Could just be flash in the pan. It's weird that Hader's 6run game with 3HRs given up doesn't have Severino to blame. First time in a live game ever catching Hader. I dont recall a slider thrown. Garbage pitch sequencing and locations and you get your pitcher shellacked. Hader hasn't lost it. Unfortunate he had Severino catching him. Rogers as I said earlier was a RP the crew would take back just thought he'd have more control with upside to be a Rogers later on. Kinda meh. No telling where we stand with Lamet. Kinda a weird player taken considering the make up and getting Bush for a certain bullpen spot. Doesn't gel and makes me feel this trade doesn't add up as a win this season. Potentially overall when Gasser/Ruiz makes or breaks it. Let's see if the Padres hold on to Hader or trade him this offseason what that return is.
  10. Monty. Who gives a rip on the Nats next future years. They can flip Freddy while they go through a rebuild. Or they can extend him. Peralta at 8mil for 2 option years is simply holding a Joker to play down the road. Hopper. If that is what it takes to land a generational talent hitting at #3 the next 2 playoffs you betcha. It takes talents to get that talent. We've got #1 and #2 SP covered. #3s aren't guaranteed 2 starts in a series. A generational #3 hitter vs a 1 maybe 2 start playoff pitcher in a series? And it's not like the 3 options behind are horrible options. I bring up Freddy because what timing to remove him off the 60day IL..... During final hours of trade deadline.
  11. Just add Fastball Freddy with cheap control and Chourio and tell me the other teams top offers beating that for #1 and #2 piece? Then just fill out the next 3 prospects and call it a day. Giving that team a 2 season run for the WS before trading everyone away after 2023 as a mini rebuild. The one thing we don't have is a true #3 in the batting lineup. Problem would be solved. And you can trade Soto for something back after 2023 so the "big market" team has a year to discuss extention.
  12. Would think a Hader trade included a team's current RP that's maybe a 7th or 8th inning current guy with 4+yes team control. If we're bumping Williams to 9th inning role they need a decent option for 7th/8th. Then the headline prospect coming back has to be an upcoming bat. And another hardthrowing SP/RP in the minors.
  13. Brewers could do this easy. Freddy Peralta, Chourio, and add from there if even needed. (Small+Turang) Team needs to cash in 1 of their bellwinning SPs for a bellwinning bat. Burnes, Woodruff, Lauer, Houser, Ashby still packs a punch. And Soto to bat 3rd for Milw is the bat that would put fear in opposing pitchers this team doesn't possess.

  15. Great combo picks. Teams are going to turn over the ball with Clark-Wyatt wreaking havoc up the middle and Walker or Gary coming around the edges and the QB just tosses the ball begging please stop hitting me! Here take it.
  16. Solid. I love good LBs. We lost in the playoffs due to great LBs creating pressure and wrecking the short passes.
  17. Glad Pitt got their Pitt QB. Hope he makes a Pro Bowl career.
  18. Dig at GB here. Now Vikes with 32 and 34. Lions with the Vikes 2nd rd. Going to see them draft obvious GB targets. Wonder when the Bears jump in.
  19. Wilson selected. There can't be another player worth trading up for left os there?
  20. Surprised Carolina didn't find a trade down. Happy London is gone. No trades yet!
  21. I'm thinking part of that deals with the fact TE class has about as much a chance to see 1 selected by end of round 2 as it would more than. Ferguson is like 5-7? on top 10 ranks and he's a 5th rd to undrafted potential. I looked again at draft pick trade values,, and adding 22 with 28 somehow climbs up to #7. Or even 6. 6 and Carolina is near lock for trading down. Garrett Wilson becomes the obvious move up for GB to select him ahead of any of the following picks likely selecting Wilson immediately after 6. Feels odd because in 2019 I thought with 12 and 30 we couldn't move up beyond 7 or 8. The trade for Waller idea likely is a draft day trade depending if a trade up like that happens, or a player falls to say 17 who is on GBs top 10 draft board. George Pickens is growing on me as draft crush. Won't lie but his stature and some movements remind me of watching Adams. Only Pickens is taller and more physical to impact run game blocking. There is abundant video on YouTube including all targeted plays he had in 2019&2020. Derrick Stingley picked off a bad decision on one target but Pickens went on to 3 solid catches vs Stingley the following 3 targets. Fromm was QB his freshman in 19 and clearly better than the 2020 QB that affected Pickens production. He recovered most of 2021 from ACL injury. So that is why he's not placed among the top 5 in this class. Somewhere there's a comment from a coach about how much he wants to and willing to put in added practice. I visualizing Adams 2seasons from now.
  22. As mentioned before. These past 2 or 3 days the mocks are all over the place with decisions to not keep the same previous selections or just because Travon Walker goes 1st. I remember 1 respected guy(Peter Schrager) in these his 2nd mock contained only 7 of the same picks he made previously from 1st mock. Thinking a lot of the older mocks will have better projection than newer sans trades as a reason to pick differently. Carolina has the 6th selection and not another until like 200. They need a QB but also need picks. Quite a good amount of mocks must have been informed of 2002 being last GB WR selected in 1st rd and are sticking that as not selecting a WR anymore in first. My guess at the moment is gutey moves up in first rd to select a WR(wrong 1 clearly) to cop out with hadnt he made the move to move up that wr was being selected. Ala Savage and Love.
  23. Kinda ran in to what may be keeping Pickens from a 1st rd grade. Not only the ACL recovery and the game experience he lost but he has some questions about mental status. 1 thing came up is not giving 100pct effort on plays. He also had a game where while on the sidelines he used the water bottle he had in his hands and squirted a Ten Volunteer(QB) with it when that player ran out of bounds on his sideline. Cost a 15yd penalty which resulted in a Td. I think a 3rd was a scuffle or shoving with an opponent. So just some immature things that teams just won't waste a 1st rd on. Oh and he has something like 8 1/2-3/4 inch hands that creates some drop concerns. I've seen some suggestions that GBs mold for WR in drafts had height and or weight tendacies that would check some guys off [I think Olave weight? being 1) and leaving that trio of Pickens, Watson, and Pierce fitting this draft mold. That brings that idea of mine to trade with Seattle for 40/41 using 1 of the 1sts and 2nds to do so. Where the 2nd rd grades of the 3 and picking 2 would settle more to that projection vs a reach. Burks seems best to go from day 1. I'd consider Pierce 2nd. Pickens 3rd. Watson while the freak, has the largest jump to make in gamespeed. If putting an insert player comp of Packer past Bigger heavier Cobb-Nelson-Adams-MVS.
  24. I'd keep an eye out on this name: Marcus Jones, CB, Houston Height: 5-8. Weight: 185. Arm: 28.88. Hand: 8.88. Projected 40 Time: 4.50. Projected Round (2022): 3-5 So Jones reads as the interest by teams due to his punt and kickoff return prowess. Size wise at CB WalterFootball classifies him as strictly a Slot WR cover. What I'm reading here is check, check, and check what Green Bay could use in a CB, Punt returner, and kickoff returner. With the fact that he wouldn't be your #1-3 guy at CB leaves so much less concern on putting him back to receive punts or kicks. And being a CB I'd imagine he'd work on the coverage units there as well to boost ST there. Credit here to watching a Lion fan mock 3 rounds with GB trading 22 and 59 to acquire 16 and early 3rd to take Jermaine Johnson. Selecting George Pickens at 28. TE Dulcich at 53. It was here when 3rd round came around he drafted another a WR(no way with a TE do we go triple on receiving) that the next pick was Jones and he commented about the Punt/KO return skills that will be coveted by teams. Oh to round it off we got what seems to be everyone's later OT Abraham Lucas. Who just seems far too popular to be around where people draft him late 3rd or in the 4th rounds. Since the guy is essentially on an island it seems for OL by the time mid to late 2nd round selections happen. Like the well of OL dried up suddenly.
