  1. Some have indicated the O's don't want to give up a draft pick. That's good to know, I wasnt aware of that!
  2. Alex Cobb Cobb is the highest-profile starter remaining after both Arrieta and Lance Lynn signed this past weekend. The right-hander set career highs in wins (12) and innings pitched (179 1/3) for the Rays in 2017, his first full season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Cobb owns a career 3.50 ERA over 115 starts, and he represents a fine middle-of-the-rotation option for contending clubs. He rejected Tampa Bay's one-year qualifying offer of $17.4 million, meaning teams are likely weighing the benefit cost of having to surrender a Draft pick or possibly international bonus pool money. Possible fits: Twins, Brewers, Rangers I know this doesnt mean much but I like not seeing Baltimore listed... I doubt the Twins or Rangers add any more SPs.
  3. If Villar is anything close to 16, I definitely love this lineup... Cain - CF Yelich - LF Braun - 1B Shaw - 3B Santana - RF Villar - 2B Pina - C Arcia - SS
  4. Yep sadly I think that's gonna happen... Such a severe disappointment. This was the offseason to get a SP because going forward we will not be competing with the big money offers SPs will be getting. There are going to be Alex Cobb-types available every offseason that fall into the team's price range. The big difference this year was that the Brewers were theoretically players for guys like Darvish and Arrieta. But who knows how big of players they actually were? I agree, though, that it is disappointing that the team hasn't acquired another good starting pitcher that could be plugged into the rotation. Right now on paper the team doesn't compare rotation-wise to the Cubs, Dodgers and Nationals. But a lot can happen between now and September. Yes, sorry... I was talking about the top SPs. If Jimmy wasnt injured I would absolutely be fine with just adding Chacin to our rotation... But Jimmy's out til probably July. I would have definitely gone to battle with... Nelson Anderson Davies Chacin Suter That's a nice rotation!

  6. I understand not going after Walker... Cuz I definitely want to see if Villar can regain that power/speed combo. BUT if we miss out on Cobb... I'm heading to Milwaukee with pitchforks.
  7. Yep, definitely agree. Adding Cobb, I would gladly give Suter the 5th spot.
  8. I think Suter has a rotation spot locked up... I think last spot is between Woody, Miley or if we sign Cobb.
  9. Opt out after 2 years, deal could be 5 years $125-$135 mil.
  10. Where does the narrative that he doesn't want to pitch in Milwaukee come from? I don't get that feeling at all. Yea people keep posting that, when has Alex ever said that?
  11. Oh we know. We know... I completely get that you want to see an improvement in the rotation but it just might not happen right now. And then again, Cobb might sign in 20 minutes. Haha, yep! We shall see.
  12. You may want to take a breath and realize there is a very good chance that what we have right now will be the mix come opening day. It won’t be the end of the world either. Sorry, getting frustrated here...
  13. There's no way we can go into this season with Anderson Davies Chacin Two of Woodruff/Guerra/Miley/Gallardo/Suter And except to be contending... This is simply stupid and makings of a diaster. Add Cobb and this really lengthens our rotation.
  14. If we dont land Cobb, Im gonna be pissed... I have a bad feeling he's going to Baltimore.
  15. Agreed. Otherwise you’re counting on Nelson returning to form and doing so early while also getting good production out of Suter, Woodruff, Gallardo or Miley. Just don’t see that happening. Plus Anderson and Davies need to have near repeats of last year. That is a receipe for diaster. If we lose Cobb to the O's, Im gonna be super pissed... Baltimore isnt competing for anything in the AL.
  16. Wow, we better be getting Cobb.
  17. Where exactly? He isn't starting over Yelich, Cain or Santana. So if he can't hold up for 5-6 games a week at 1st we don't have many options. When healthy Braun is the best hitter on the team. He will be in the lineup when healthy aside from the routine days off like he's been getting for years now. It's really that simple. Yelich will go the RF and Santana would be the odd man out. And of course they'll rotate as much as possible. And they won't hesitate to toss him on the 10 day whenever he has anything pop up rather than him playing through or taking 3-5 days off. He still has 3 weeks to get more and more comfortable at 1B so hopefully a couple starts per week can come there. But if a trade doesn't happen with Santana, throughout the year this will take care of itself with injuries to all 4 guys here and there. It all becomes much easier though if Braun can play 1B adequately. Thank you!!
  18. How did Woodruff look his first 5 MLB starts? Who cares what he looks like in ST, he's working on things. Really? Totally unnecessary. To answer you brewtank, he’s gotten lit up. He has not earned a spot over those two up to this point. I don’t see Woodruff making the rotation as it stands today. Haha ok......
  19. I believe Phillies have said they dont want to go more than 2-3 years on him. WE BETTER be involved if its a lower number of years... Arrieta Anderson Davies Chacin Woodruff or Miley So much better!
  20. According to Nightengale, Arrieta to sign within a couple days... Phillies as front runner.
  21. How did Woodruff look his first 5 MLB starts? Who cares what he looks like in ST, he's working on things.
  22. Braun as 4th OF, come on.... He will be hitting 3rd 5-6 games a week.
  23. Anderson Davies Chacin Woodruff Miley Suter to bullpen as LR, spot starter.
  24. Haha, just this one time.
  25. Sounds like Jake could sign next week... From another thread I follow.
