I like McClung a lot, but out of the pen. My hope is that Capuano has good outings during his rehab work in the minor league's and shows that he could start again and then if Suppan still sucks, which he probably will Chris could come up and take over the #5 spot. I can't count out Capuano, the guy works too hard and has been good before to not come back from this injury and do something good. Just my opinion. I know people give him a hard time about all those consecutive starts without winning in 2007 but dude had some awful luck in many of those games.
Go USA! It would be nice to see Peavy keep his pitch count down and go at least 5 tonight. After Braun's 3-4 the other night he better be in the lineup.
Got my Braun bobblehead tickets in the mail today. Love the pocket schedule this year with Braun on the front doing the fist pump and behind him the scene at Miller Park with all the streamers after we clinched the Wild Card. Just waiting on my Memorial Day tickets vs the Cards yet.
McGehee over Lamb just seems to make so much sense to me, it better happen. He hits RHP and LHP. plays 3B can play some 2B and could be an emergency catcher. He has hit all spring where Lamb has not and if we want to start a left handed batter at 3B you have Counsell. Plus McGehee is younger and has more potential upside then Lamb.
He has not been to good from what I have read and heard. Not even close to swinging the bat like Duffy and Nelson. I heard Haudricourt on the D-List this morning on 540 AM and he said that Duffy and Nelson seem to have all but locked up spots on the 25 man. If Nixon wants one he better start hitting fast and a lot.
I love how it is a playoff like atmosphere in March at these stadiums. The players all really seem to be into it and that is awesome. Watching the two USA games this weekend had me feeling like it was a important game in mid August or September.
My feelings exactly. I mean I'm not saying Escobar won't be good but to trade a proven SS like Hardy for an unproven one who is known more for his glove and really only put up 1 good year with the bat just does not seem to make sense to me. I guess time will tell what happens with this situation, not a bad one to have though.
Nice to see Braun get in take a walk and go yard. Big win, hopefully the pitching settles down a bit and the offense keeps rollin in round 2 of the tourney. Youkilis is just on fire right now, such a great player.
I don't have to much problem with DeRosa getting a start over Braun. Would I rather see Braun in there? Of course but it doesn't bother me. I do have a problem with the whole Rollins/Jeter platoon thing at SS. I wouldn't care if they were just starting every other game but this playing half the game things I don't like at all. And really if it were up to me I would start Rollins every game. I know Jeter is the "captain" and all but Rollins is a far superior overall player.
Yeah does seem his tone, maybe he posts under a couple different names. But either way he is right, that dude is a jerk. I never post on the blog but I do read them now and again.
I'm a big fan of Tom's. I enjoy reading his column's and blogs posts. I do wonder if it was Tom actually posting those comments. The name said "Tom Haudricourt". I thought Tom's name when he posts in the comments is "tomhaud"? Anyone confirm this?
