  1. I wish Hoffman and Cameron could convince Peavy to not block a trade to Milwaukee. Then I bet Melvin could offer Escobar and spare parts and snag Jake from SD.
  2. Game05, I think Gallardo has shown quite a bit more then Hughes to this point in their careers. With the little he pitched last year and what he did in 07'.
  3. Has anyone heard what time the show will start on 1/19? I thought they always started at 8pm and last week it started at 7pm and I missed the first hour.
  4. Very true, Homer brought that up on his radio show at the start of the Hot Stove season. He will still be a great pitcher, but will probably never replicate what he did last year with the Brewers. He was that good in the second half last year.
  5. Maybe he is planning on surprising everybody during spring training and showing up in great shape? That is my hope. And that would be fantastic.
  6. Sabathia to me is NOT replaceable. But a healty Gallardo will put up better numbers then Sheets did last year. My opinion. The only way to somewhat replace CC is hope they pick up one other above average starter and/or hope the other guys behind Yovani (Parra, Bush, Suppan, McClung) all step their games up.
  7. Actually Parra is there. He is signing with Todd Coffey.
  8. They showed Jones working out in Atlanta with Chipper and some other Braves and he looked much slimmer and in shape. This was on MLB Network earlier this week.
  9. If he pitches like he did in the second half last year as the 8th inning guy setting up Nathan they could be a heck of a combination late in ball games. Twins are also looking at Lyon as an 8th inning guy.
  10. Yeah I think he is a very legit #3 with the potential to be a #2. All he has to do is cut down giving up the long ball.
  11. Am I as optimistic as last year? No. But I do think we have a chance and I do believe we will contend again, if Braun, JJ and Prince do what they have been doing and we get Rickie to start to come close to his potential and Hart to play like he did in 2007 we will be fine.
  12. Creed, Merideth and Kelly were great. The speed thing with Michael was funny. A solid episode, liked the ending with Andy and Dwight both ditching Angela.
  13. I'm gonna go for Bush and or Gamel/Salome. I would go for Braun or Gallardo but I have both of them on balls already. Hoffman would be cool to get because he is our new guy and he is a future HOF. But I gotta go for Gamel/Salome because of the free'ness and their potential to be stars for the club down the road. Bush is my #1 choice because over the past 8 months I have developed a huge man crush on him.
  14. Amen to that! Escobar has great potential, but Hardy has and is already doing it. I'm sure Escobar has high trade value with as highly touted as he is. I would rather trade him then JJ.
  15. Verlander is very attractive to me. (in a baseball sense) But why were his numbers so bad last year? 11-17 4.44 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP. Yikes! Of course the two previous years 18-6, 17-9 both years ERA under 4. Very nice.
  16. I used to chastise this guy, now I love him and he might be the most underrated player on the club. All he has to do is not give up so many HR's. He doesn't give up many walks or hits. His WHIP last year was great. I honestly think Bush will win 14 games this season with an ERA around 4 giver or take and another WHIP around 1.04. I think he is a legit #3 and could be a 2.
  17. Yeah my bad FTJ. For some reason I was thinking of Knight like Knight Rider. I'm sure I will sing it when the Dodgers come to town.
  18. I really hope Randolph can take Weeks under his wing and get him to perform to his potential or close to it. I think Macha will make smart moves and get the most out of his players. I don't think the players will be as tense now that Yost is gone. Overall I love our staff more this year then any year in recent memory. From Macha at the head down to bullpen coach Stan Kyles.
  19. Bamberger seems a no brainer to me. How someone actually voted for Alex Sanchez is beyond me. That had to be a joke, was that Haudricourt or Olsen?
  20. No more singing Knight Ranger at Brewer games I guess. "Mota's In! Runs will be scoring tonight!"
  21. With the Braves signing Lowe and the Rangers not having the budget, the Brewers and Sheets should both suck it up and agree on a 1 year deal. And yeah Series, I to am starting to wonder if there is not some kind of personal issue with this entire situation. Whatever, I want Ben back.
  22. I like Lowe, but 4 years $15 mill per year. I think it's overpaying. I would have only offered 3 years $12 mill. Good for him for getting that contract though I guess. Well I would assume this takes the Braves out of the running for Sheets which would be good for us.
  23. How about those votes for Jay Bell and Matt Williams. What a joke.
  24. Good luck to Gabe and the Rays. Hope they can pull out the AL East again.
  25. That is cheap. I hope to see JJ sign long term at some point. I guess it depends how the whole Escobar situation plays out.
