Yount has 2 SI covers from 1982. Yes, one from during the season and one from the World Series I believe. I have the first one.

"You had me at meat tornado."

Ricky Gervais making that cameo as David Brent tonight was one of my all-time favorite scenes in the shows history. Just awesome.

Gonna put my ticket into the lottery for Yount. Really want to get my 1982 SI with him on the cover signed. If I get it done going to get it framed somewhere, would be a nice piece to my collection.

I agree, it is ridiculous, like when the Braves traded away Yunel Escobar to the Blue Jays.

Game 162 in 2008, I was just born in 1982 so I can't claim to remember game 7 of the World Series. Game 162 in 2008 will always be special to me and I will never forget that game or day. I was pretty amped and nervous for game 1 and game 3 of the NLDS in 2008 as well. The whole town was buzzing there was something special in the air, especially before game 3 at home, it was amazing and Dave Bush will forever be in my heart for his pitching performance in that game.

Fish (Sport Only) Love the pyramid.

Loved the season 3 premiere. Ron coaching the basketball team was awesome. Especially his Bobby Knight like wardrobe and throwing of the chair. Good start to the season. Also if anyone is on twitter, they have an official account now for Ron. It is @RonEffinSwanson

Yeah, even though Lawrie is gone, I to hope he does well. Seems to have what could be a special bat, just needs to find a spot to play in the field. That said, no matter what Lawrie does I like the trade for Marcum because I think he is going to be very good for the Brewers.

So pumped for Thursday. Finally! The best comedy on network TV returns. I missed you Ron Swanson.

Brewers really need to get this done. Yes there is the Weeks injury history, but I hope that doesn't stop them from getting a deal done. Because when healthy Rickie is a top 5 2B in the game. Only guys better are Cano and Utley.

So McGehee, Greinke, Gallardo and ????? Can't wait till they finally announce the rest.

Amen to this. Jim would be perfect and add a lot of talent to the Brewers beat. Hopefully he get's a chance. So long Witrado! Don't let the door hit you on the way out. I do not read the Sporting News and now I know I won't be reading it anytime soon.

I would think that Pirates fans are more miserable than us. Kind of sad since they were a once great baseball franchise.

If there was a competition for washer toss, I would be world champion.

I am guessing if he is good the first 2 years in the 8th inning, he takes over as the closer in the 3rd year after Rivera retires after Mo's current 2 year deal. Then if all goes well for Soriano in that 3rd year he could get paid big again.

Great point RyDogg. Things may be bleak in the minors right now, but we have time to replenish while we are competitive at the big league level the next 2+ years. It is up to Doug and his staff to draft well.

Congrats to Trevor, a class act in every aspect. Really enjoyed watching him for two years in a Brewers uniform. Wish the team would have been better, but such is life.

I got these two books for Christmas. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51udkZnAAPL._BO2,204,203,200_PIsitb-sticker-arrow-click,TopRight,35,-76_AA300_SH20_OU01_.jpghttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51J-7FfuOoL._BO2,204,203,200_PIsitb-sticker-arrow-click,TopRight,35,-76_AA300_SH20_OU01_.jpg Started reading "Are We Winning?" first, good so far. Always been a fan of Will Leitch. After I finish that I am going to tackle "Baseball Between The Numbers". Heard great things about it.

Haudricourt is right, more guys need to be inducted into this. I would have voted for: Bamberger, Caldwell, Cirillo, Higuera, Plesac, Simmons and Vuckovich.

I like Garza, he is a good pitcher. But I think the Cubs overpaid. They seemed to pay almost ace price and Garza is more a 2 or 3. Makes the Cubs a little better, but I still see 4th place in their 2011 future.
  22. BrewCrewForever
Marcum beans Pablo Sandoval, and Prince leads a bench clearing brawl. No one messes with the Crew the rest of the season. Man, I would love for this to happen. Would be so sweet.
  23. BrewCrewForever
Rogers dazzles with better command of his pitches and wins the 5th starter job.

I honestly can't say I remember the last time I have seen Betancourt play on TV. Probably when he was a Mariner. I am willing to give him a chance, but I am not expecting much based on the stats and what I have read from Joe Posnanski and Rob Neyer. I do like Yuniesky's potential power at SS. That is about it.

I seen on facebook today that Prince Fielder would be a guest on WSSP's "Hot Stove Weekly" tonight. starts at 8pm CST.
