  1. Parra and an A level prospect could have done it. I dunno, just guessing.
  2. If they improve the pitching, they can easily compete with this lineup. And I'm all in with Gamel at 1B next season. He won't totally replace Prince of course, but he should be good at the plate and could be better with the glove. I would also think that Escobar, Cain and Lucroy will all progress and Braun should get back to his career averages. I really believe the elbow and then wrist injury have hampered him a bit this season. Just as the lower back thing did for the last few months of 2008. Let's just hope Hart and Weeks are right around where they are this season or close. But it all comes down to pitching, this team even without Prince should score runs, but they have to prevent them as well.
  3. As much as I still despise the Cubs, I think the Cardinals have over taken them for the baseball team I hate most. But they are easily 1 and 2 on my list.
  4. Brandon Morrow is really good. Would have been nice if Doug tried exploring a trade for him with Seattle this past offseason. I believe at one time his name was thrown around in trade rumors to the Brewers.
  5. Thanks guys, I was worried. Thought maybe he got hurt and it was not reported.
  6. I would love to see a Rays vs Braves World Series. I like both of those teams and would really enjoy that series. And I want TB to win it, after the Brewers the Rays are the only other team I would say I really root for. Just love so many players on that team (Longoria, Crawford, Zobrist, Garza, Shields, Hellickson, Price, etc.)
  7. Cardinals and Cubs. That is pretty much it. I used to hate the Yankees, but I think I just realized that there is no salary cap in baseball, they got the money, let em spend it.
  8. Between Riske, Hawkins and Hoffman (2010 version) I think Doug Melvin should see it is never a good idea to give money to relief pitchers. Go young and/or cheap ala Axford, Braddock, Coffey, McClendon, Loe, etc.
  9. Rivas would be my choice. He probably is the most deserving of the minor league pitchers on the 40 man.
  10. A lot of great albums mentioned, I love reading what other people like to listen to. Here are mine, can't pick just one. Led Zeppelin - IV Pearl Jam - Vs. Radiohead - The Bends Linkin Park - Minutes To Midnight Rush - Moving Pictures Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine I could probably add at least 4 or 5 more, but these are the 6 I listen to straight through more then any other albums.
  11. Well the offense did leave a bunch of guys on base. But you can chalk this loss up on another crappy start by Manny Parra.
  12. Manny Parra go bye bye. I can't stand you. Please Doug do us all a favor and cut the cord on Manny.
  13. I know people have lots of opinions on Manny Parra. Mine is he flat out sucks. I'm done with him and have been done with him for awhile. I do not want him in our rotation next season. He pretty much does the same thing every time out.
  14. Love Bob Costas. Still my favorite baseball play-by-play guy. He just flat out knows the game and is a baseball guy.
  15. That'd be for Cappy's win! Nice work by the home team.I know, I was more referring to his win of that battle vs one of the best hitters in the game.
  16. Link Interesting, and not a bad idea I suppose. I am excited to see Mark Rogers, Amaury Rivas or Cody Scarpetta get some action in September because of this though.
  17. Damn, I thought Ryan got all of it. Good swing on it though. Crazy to think he has not hit a HR since July 24th.
  18. Awesome on both accounts. He continues to rake, just got to get him comfy at 1B since he should be there in 2011.
  19. Man, drunk driving runs in the Cardinals club I guess. So classy.
  20. Is anyone else watching the HD feed and notice that when they show a closeup of the batter the picture gets darker and a little more grainy?
  21. Finally seen the Expos special on MLB Network today. Really enjoyed it, thought it was very well done and it taught me a lot about the Expos I would have never known. Man that 1994 team was damn good.
  22. I would really like to see Braun find the HR stroke again. Finish at 25 bombs.
  23. Ryan has now gone 22 straight games without a home run. His last was July 24th. I never thought Braun would go that long without a round tripper. Crazy.
