The worst thing about the all-star thing is that you gotta think Turnbow could use a three-day break to get his head right. That or his command. Not that that appears to be a mere three-day project....
No, what REALLY sucks is that the Brewers are about to lose their fourth straight game and the bullpen can't get anyone out. That and the whole Darfur thing. I think Derrick Turnbow is the moral equivalent of the janjaweed.
Mighty generous of the Reds to send Larue up there. Turnbow could outdo them by walking him of course. Edit: Crud. A baserunner means Dunn likely to come up as tying run.
It would be really, really nice not to face Dunn or Griffey with runners on in the 9th. Don't diddle around with Kearns just because you have Larue and the pitchers' spot coming up.
Yost had to make that move. Chances are even Bush would surrender another run or two if he stayed in. I agree...given the constraints I don't have much in the way of objections with the way Yost has handled the pitching. Turnbow in the 8th in Minny was absolutely the right move, and I think this was too...but it looks bad when the pitchers in question don't execute.
Bush with a quality start, oddly enough...but getting into the Brewer bullpen has been dicey of late, to say the least. Anyone think the Reds are done with 3 runs today?
Gosh, if we pinch hit for Moeller, and somehow took the lead, and then somehow Miller got hurt the same half-inning, then we might have to use an emergency catcher, in which case we might lose. That or Ned's got a plane to catch.
