I think you can really see CC's style and philosophy setting in. It is not often you see many AB's from this team that leave you scratching your head or making you frustrated. Up and down the roster, regardless as to if they are hitting, guys are at least putting a great effort in at the plate and making a pitcher earn their outs and k's. Even Broxton who has seemed most over matched is having quality AB's. He just lacks contact skills like Carter which lead to high amount of K's late in ABs. Still not an easy out though. That is very encouraging. Rivera is going to force CC's hand to find ways to get hom on the field. If it wasn't for Hill's outstanding defense so far, Rivera could very well be stealing time at 3B. He has had impressive ABs the last few games and man, he is constantly improving. From how raw he was, he has come a long way and is starting to show he is an MLB player. I think this team is getting a very bad rap. (Not on here but outside of the forum) The 12-3 loss to start the season kind of justified everyone's thoughts that this team is a 100 lose, who cares about them type team. The stands were pretty bare this weekend for an opening weekend series. Even if weather was not great. Outside of that 1st game, Brewers have won 3 out of 5 and been in striking distance with a chance in their two loses. These are two playoff contenders we faced and we play 5 really good games. Hopefully we can keep it going against the Cards and snag at leas 2 more and people start to take notice. If we can go 6-4 or even 5-5 over the next 10 against Cards, Pirates, and Twins I think we are in great shape for the month going into the Phillies, Cubs, and Marlins. Just avoid sweeps is the biggest factor. I can see them finishing month 11-13 or 12-12 realistically! In May they have 18 games against Reds (7), Marlins (4), Braves (3), Padres (4). That is plenty of possible wins in there. By June, this team could still be hanging around .500 and hopefully fans will start to get excited for teams progress and show up. Remember, more attendance equals more money to save for us to retain our own guys when the time comes. We need to be able to keep some of the stars we produce.
