  1. Need need to move Peralta, he just needs to figure it out to get traded
  2. If mentioning Arcia, don't forget to mention Michael Reed as he is on an absolute tear right now! Flores & Broxton better remove heads soon otherwise they could find there way out of the job. Actually Flores is probably safe due to no more options and his approach at the plate. Broxton simply can't make contact right now. Hopefully Reed's muscle growth hasn't completely removed him from being able to play some CF
  3. Jimmy is a good, nice, humble guy, now owns Scuds Buds, a little bar in Eden. Still loves baseball and will coach Northwoods whenever offered. Being from Fondy, he is kind of a local, home grown hero type which is always good for a franchise (why they sell CC as so constantly).
  4. Just curious, why are you asking that question? Did you hear that was the case from somewhere? No, totally was sarcasm. Find it kind of weird that they are still having the bobble head day for a player that was traded and no longer in the organization. Seems like they would have had enough time to switch it to a different player. The bobble heads can't be made that far in advance. They still do David Ortiz, Alex Rodriquez, King Felix, Shin Soo Choo type stuff. They care more about the guys who played there than who is a Brewer. Jason Rogers was a big part of their championship team so they gave him a bobblehead because the fans who attend games remember and cared about his performance/importance.
  5. So you've insinuated this a couple of times now. Is it mere speculation on your is there evidence of some issue? If there is red flags, no scout in baseball is mentioning one. The raves are endless with Groome. UCL injury right now wouldn't even knock him out of top 10 imo. The arm, command, size, polish, and etc are all so impressive with him.
  6. He was rated the top fielding 2B in MWL last season. It is almost nightly there is mention about an outstanding defensive play by him. 2 incredible ones the other night. I haven't gone to a ton of games but from what I have, he is impressive out there. Last year he was 19/20 in MWL and he had moments were his bat came to life. He was 18/19 in Helena, and just turned 18 when drafted in Arizona. Hard to judge his bat when he has always been one of the youngest guys at every level. To me, this is his year to establish himself if he is going to be a prospect moving forward or not. This is the first time he is reasonably close to league age even though he is still pretty young. Some guys just take a little longer to come around.
  7. I think Thornburg needs a whole season in the pen, and prove he can stay healthy and effective for an entire season. He is young, and the option of putting him back in the rotation is always an option at some point down the road. Peralta in the pen is not a terrible idea at all. Let him just pump fastballs for an inning, maybe that is a better use of his talents. Yeah I really don't care where they put Wily, if they aren't going to give him the ability to pitch to Maldy, his effective career is over. I will never understand no matter how good Lucroy is, why they stopped Peralta & Maldondo always being paired. If you need Luc's bat, put him at 1B for the game. Maldy is only one who will get Wily back on track. He has pitched to him all through minors, when he first came up, and that connection just works for Wily. I don't move Thornburg back to rotation. We have plenty of young arms to fill in there. Thornburg is proving himself as a late inning guy. Closing out games is just as important as starting them. Need guys like Thornburg who will get job done.
  8. Can you go more in depth about Nolan Jones? I have seen a rapid rise from him lately and have dug much into him since originally people though he was a late 1st to 2nd round guy. Interested to know more about him or why him over Lowe. I agree with Perez but with all these college guys outside of Senzel, Ray, Lewis completely disappointing this season so far, I wouldn't be shocked if Groome, Pint, Perez are all gone before 5. Heard Blake Rutherford linked to Brewers and Ray Montgomery a few times. Seems like someone Ray would like. He does have .300 25 HR potential and ability to play 3 spots in OF. My best bet is LF someday though. Not a big arm for RF (plenty of arms in Brewers system bigger) and like Clark, can play a good CF but not the pure athlete some of the other guys are. Colby you have any updates from the Spring so far? Some names of guys linked, some risers, guys to watch out for?
  9. Saw the video on twitter of Coulter's throw.....no wonder they haven't moved him to 1B! When he is voted as having biggest arm in the league, they are not kidding! Cecchini isn't starting because obviously Middlebrook is the better player offensively & defensively.... Yeah, I'm not getting it. It is not like Garin hasn't been hot at the plate as well with Middlebrook being terrible. Interesting to see that Ventura has been moved to the pull pen but really with Ponce, Mederois, Williams, Derby...Woodruff, Hanhold not really anywhere else to put him. I think this weekend will be a big weekend for T-Rats to wake up more. No more cold excuses we can use if they are not hitting ball in 60-70 degree weather. Good to Harrison K's drop and walks increase over the last few games. Gatewood need a nice multi-hit game. Harrison seems to be Rickie Weeks Pt.2 (except with elite defensive abilities) He will go on stretches where he will be the best player, hitter, athlete on the field then other stretches were he just seems completely lost at the plate like he doesn't belong. It seemed like in spring he was locked in. Every day he was like 3x4 with an HR or being noted for a great performance (with Diaz and Gatewood). Just needs to get going again.
  10. Really surprised no Tucker Neuhaus on there. Repeating Wisconsin but still one of the youngest guys on team and in the league. Gold Glove caliber defender at 2B, bat has made a lot of progress.
  11. Bubba Derby is a stud
  12. I think the change is more the players than coaching. Coles was with this team all of last year and Craig was managing for almost the full season. Getting rid of Segura and Gomez who blindly hacked at anything and everything makes a big difference too. Can never judge a manager when he comes in during the middle of a season. This is his first real season and off-season. I agree with it having to do with the players they have brought in as well but we have seen better AB's from the guys who have been on this team and in this system as well. Scooter is going to have more walks by May 1st than he did all last season. That is realistic. Now it is sad that he waled that few of times last season but great that he is starting to change his approach a little bit. I hope this is a whole organization emphasis. I could only image how great Arcia could be if we started to walk a little bit (10% clip would be great imo) Walks have been great! (Since this is the positive forum I will not discuss the K%) Through 6 games BB% Maldy 25% Villar 22.7% Walsh 20% Gennett 18.2% Santana 14.8% Rivera 14.3% Carter 12.5% Braun 12.5% Broxton 12.5% Lucroy 10% - - - - - - - - - - Black sheep of the club Aaron Hill 4.8% Ramon Flores 0% Kirk Niuwenhuis 0%
  13. I think you can really see CC's style and philosophy setting in. It is not often you see many AB's from this team that leave you scratching your head or making you frustrated. Up and down the roster, regardless as to if they are hitting, guys are at least putting a great effort in at the plate and making a pitcher earn their outs and k's. Even Broxton who has seemed most over matched is having quality AB's. He just lacks contact skills like Carter which lead to high amount of K's late in ABs. Still not an easy out though. That is very encouraging. Rivera is going to force CC's hand to find ways to get hom on the field. If it wasn't for Hill's outstanding defense so far, Rivera could very well be stealing time at 3B. He has had impressive ABs the last few games and man, he is constantly improving. From how raw he was, he has come a long way and is starting to show he is an MLB player. I think this team is getting a very bad rap. (Not on here but outside of the forum) The 12-3 loss to start the season kind of justified everyone's thoughts that this team is a 100 lose, who cares about them type team. The stands were pretty bare this weekend for an opening weekend series. Even if weather was not great. Outside of that 1st game, Brewers have won 3 out of 5 and been in striking distance with a chance in their two loses. These are two playoff contenders we faced and we play 5 really good games. Hopefully we can keep it going against the Cards and snag at leas 2 more and people start to take notice. If we can go 6-4 or even 5-5 over the next 10 against Cards, Pirates, and Twins I think we are in great shape for the month going into the Phillies, Cubs, and Marlins. Just avoid sweeps is the biggest factor. I can see them finishing month 11-13 or 12-12 realistically! In May they have 18 games against Reds (7), Marlins (4), Braves (3), Padres (4). That is plenty of possible wins in there. By June, this team could still be hanging around .500 and hopefully fans will start to get excited for teams progress and show up. Remember, more attendance equals more money to save for us to retain our own guys when the time comes. We need to be able to keep some of the stars we produce.
  14. Hope returns to all-star game many times in his career. I'm not going to waste time cheering against him. He wasn't in our plans. I love Diaz as a prospect & his skill set is much more suited for the way this team is being built. Right now I still take Scooters bat at 2nd over Segura's. Arcia is coming, we all knew Jean was going to be gone, I really don't think his success or failure is all that important
  15. How to fix Wily..... Start Maldondo. It's a proven fact he is absolutely horrible with Luc & usually pretty good with Maldy. Don't understand how after 3 years, this is still isn't done.
  16. Sounds like a blooper fell in over Allemand to give up 2 of Kodi's run but outside of he's been pretty locked in. Have to remember he is youngest kid in whole league which makes everything even more impressive
  17. I live in Slinger which is a good hour away from Appleton but if weather here is an indication, T-Rats made a bad decision postponing the game a day (unless it had to do with travel). It's still chilly but been sunny, mild wind, and much better than most of the day's the past week. Tomorrow is suppose to be near 50 but rain all day. So hopefully they are able to get the double header in
  18. By end of season Iran Diaz will be consenses Top 5 prospect surpassing Lara & Clark for sure. Nottingham & Diaz were outstanding trades! There is just something about Diaz & the way he squares up every pitch. Honestly, how hard do you need to drill a ball knock it out in 25 degree weather with 20+ mph winds. He did it all last season, did it spring, & now he's carrying it over to 2016. Assuming all players keep prospect status (I hope outside of maybe Lopez getting a shot this year.... Arcia can wait) We have a list that dominate the Top 100s next season! Looking at our list, our whole top 10 could easily make those lists with good years! Remember when we were excited that we had Jimmy Nelson make like 70s & Tyrone Taylor once make 90s.... What a turn around
  19. This link is for Brett Phillips 1st of season and what an oppo shot! Seems like plenty of power there!
  20. Good News is Isan Diaz can still square up & smoke a ball in 20 degree weather.... 2-2 1bb and a HR! Can you blame Diplan, a 19 year old Dominican player for struggling in weather 40-50 degrees colder than he has ever played in before
  21. Yeah hard to take results to seriously when game time temps are in 30s with 15-20mph winds. He destroyed the ball all spring in warm weather, hard to adjust from 70-80 to 30-40 with snow. By next weekend it should be back in 60s so that will be good for the kids
  22. I want to see him get more at bats. I like his approach and his swing. Feels like there is more power to him on the left side and could put a few into the short porch. 2 AB's and he has worked the count and smoked the ball...sadly right to SS and RF. Eventually those will find holes.
  23. I hope they draw well this year. 68K in 2 games for a Monday, Tuesday game is a good thing. I know their losing has zero impact on the amount of games I go to. I just enjoy going out to the ballpark. Same with T-Rats, I don't go to see them win, that is a perk. I go because I enjoy baseball, family, friends, and atmosphere. Plus, more attendance equals more money to put away to retain our young talent when the time comes.
  24. I don't believe so.... Orf & Macias probably will get most of the starts there. Maybe Shaw a few. Only way Cooper is over there is if they are really trying to increase versatility for future. He is 6'6+, like Corey Hart, not sure him at 3B is the idea position. No clue why he is listed there. All his instagram pics are him in the field at 1B. He has only 5 career rookie ball games in Arizona at 3B.
