  1. I see him topping out at AA or being career AAA player. He is already 24 and it is not like he was really dominating the kids in A ball. He may make it at 27-30 as a utility bench bat I don't see his ceiling any higher than that.
  2. I'd like Ramirez to at least get a shot to see what he can offer. Cooper is very Overbay like and wouldn't be a horrible stop gap. Roache could very well be like Khris Davis were 1st base isn't even an option. Be nice if he could play it though. Coulter could be a solid 1st baseman, like others have mentioned a waste of a cannon of an arm but really our OF is getting pretty crowded. Braun and Lucroy are both options. Rogers I don't see ever being an everyday 1b and his defense at 3b hurts.Lind still has next season. You hope you hit in Perez or Doninguez for a couple of years like McGehee until someone Lin the system steps up. I think they will try to target a 1b or 3b type prospect in a Garza, Lind, Reliever, Etc future trade.
  3. 1b Lind 2b Gennett SS Segura 3b Perez c Lucroy LF Santana Cf Reed Rf Braun Corner OF Davis or Peterson All OF Schaefer or Wren 1b/3b Dominguez or Rogers 2B/SS Sardinas or Rivera C Maladondo
  4. I think Michael Reed as a real opportunity next spring to fill that CF spot to at least start the year until Phillips or Taylor claim it. That would in effect push him to a 4th OF in the mold of Parra. Peterson is very iffy in CF, Wren could push for job, Schaefer most likely wins it. My idea OF would be Santana, Reed, Braun but not sure it works out that way.... Sadly Davis, Schaefer, Braun is what we get.
  5. Not having TJ surgery may very well have been a crucial mistake for him. Trust me, I was a HUGE Thornburg fan. Had him way above Nelson and pretty close to Peralta but now with the drop in velocity, his stuff is nowhere near as dominating. Lohse needs to be out of rotation. So mid as well give him next shot to see what he is now. Maybe he rebounds to former stuff & velocity
  6. Question is who is the best option going forward? Brewers have Davies, Cravy, Wagner, Lopez, and Suter all pushing for a spot in 2016... Is Thornburg still ahead of those guys? If his arm was still the same, I'd say yes, but it's not hard to tell he isn't the same anymore. Next year we got: Peralta Nelson Jungmann Locked in. Garza will be on market all spring and next season so whenever they find a suitor for him. If not traded in off season, he will be slotted in Then I say Davies will slot in for Fiers If somehow we got lucky and traded Garza, Jorge Lopez would be my favorite dark horse for #5 spot after Peralta, Nelson, Jungmann, Davies.
  7. Michael Reed played CF tonight! Grooming him for opening day 2016! LF Santana CF Reed RF Braun Reed moves to an everyday Parra type 4th OF once Phillips is ready to take over. I'm a big Reed fan, optimism! Just nice to see him finally get his shot at CF
  8. Difference is his arm is not the same. Sad to say but think his future is not a very bright one. He has always had a home run issue in the bigs due to him missing spots a lot and not having much life on fastball. His off speed is not nearly as effective and is reliant on him throwing hard. He has a big looping curve and a slow curve that use to have hitters off balance cause he could throw 93-96 now he struggled to stay in low 90s
  9. Yeah I was thinking same thing as well. Also, does Reed get promoted to make room for Phillips? I don't aww how you can keep Phillips, Reed, Roache, Taylor on same team.... No DH who you sit? All I can say is THANK YOU METS!
  10. So Gomez and Segura for top pitching prospect in MILB plus Turner who is really heating up as a prospect..... No way that happens. Don't know why Nats would even consider
  11. BC is a death trap for hitter outside of guys like Arcia, Gennett, or a Segovia will probably have a lot of success. Guys who have any lift to there swings are dead in the water. The air is just thick and heavy and believe the way wind blows in cause ball not to travel too well. In Biloxi next year the Coulter bandwagon will be over flowing again. Defensively, man has a cannon for an arm and is okay out there.
  12. Is almost be willing to go head up Lind for Reyes like Toronto did in Marcum/Lawrie deal. If that's not a possibility, build around Kaminsky or Flaherty with a PTBNL Honestly, like most have said, if we get better from trade why not pull trigger? Cards with or without Lind will still be good.
  13. Not for Lohse I am not but for Cravy, Wagner, or Lopez I would be fine with it
  14. It's prob been linked somewhere here about Gomez today but most believe brewers are not looking to trade him and must be blown away to deal him. He better get hot the next 3 games and push some team over the top on him. My money is come Saturdays game vs the Cubs the lineup up will have Segura, Lucroy, Gomez, and Braun. Even Lind I could see. Parra is only for sure gone, I'd think Cotts to. Rest will be dealt (if they are going to be) in off season once new GM is named prior to Winter Meetings
  15. Thinking about it, I would demand Pompey and Norris for sure from Jays, then toss in young high ceiling type guy
  16. I hope we could pluck Flaherty or Kaminsky honestly Cardinals system is so stacked with good, solid, mid 2's low 3 FIP type guys that both of these guys are expendable. Reyes won't be touched for Lind. He is the most ace like prospect they have. Flaherty could be a solid odorizzi type prospect
  17. Need more than that for me. I agree, those 3 plus 2-3 high upside lower level guys Or [sarcasm]Those 3 for the rights of Vlad Guerrero Jr....[/sarcasm] Gomez along could possible leverage Norris and Pompey.... I'm even more confident of that after seeing what they all gave to Colorado for Tulo. Fiers is a high prospect like Pentencost plus a low guy like Tellez and KRod is another solid B type prospect at least (a B and a PTBNL) IMO
  18. Deal Gomez to Mets for Matz and get Norris for Fiers Other prospects can be thrown in as well Now we have two frontline lefties which never happens in Milwaukee Norris Peralta Matz Nelson Jungmann sounds like a rotation to build around!
  19. Steal for Colorado a lateral move IMO opinion and load up prospects
  20. I'd ask for Matz, we are in desperate need of a lefty in rotation. Gomez I don't see being able to land Syndergaard. Maybe if he was having another all star season but that is not the case.
  21. 5 for 41 and hitting .140 yikes. Has seen his average just plummet from nearly .400. Hopefully he can get it turned back around. Clark hit a bad streak for a bit as well and has now turned it back on, hope Lara does same
  22. No arms back?! Mets have arms all over their system! That'd be an awful trade!
  23. He just has that Tony Gywnn like ability at plate to put the bat on the ball and get on base. Now will he ever have the double or triple power or be able to hit 8-14 HRs a season? As of right now, power doesn't seem to have any role in his game but he is 18 and a tiny kid. Hopefully now he is state side, they can add strength to him. Most important, it bat will play. He is so advanced for his age and is a professional hitter. Be really intersting to see how the Wisconsin OF works out year! Rubio (if repeated) Harrison Stokes Belonis Clark Segovia Demi
  24. I'm hoping DM hold strong to his not motivated to sell stance until Friday. Most often by doing that, some team will panic and over spend. If that doesn't happen, with front office changes coming possibly this off-season... Keeping some of these pieces for a GM to decide his vision for future isn't a bad 2nd option either. Just don't sell off unless u close the deal you wanted. Really, if we go in to next season with our roster we will be in same situation we have been in for awhile. We will be a streaky team who has no ability to be consistent. Team is build to win and lose in bunches.
  25. Apparently a 20 game hit streak in which you hit .410 with a OBP of .480 is all Joantgel Segovia need to get promoted out of Arizona! He will be replacing Cotto who also was bumped up to Wisconsin! Great for an UDFA like Cotto to already be making a big impact! Segovia iOS just a hitting animal. Power is great and terrific to have but if you have a kid who has Tony Gywnn type average ability (far to early I know) he can make an impact. Twitter Post by Brewers Player Development @BrewersPD: Promotions: Houle to Brevard, Horst to Col Springs, Farina, Segovia, Olczak, Oquendo, & Ghelfi to Helena, Cotto to Wisconsin
