  1. At this point my guess is they care too much about Leal behind the plate at Wisconsin to help develop those young pitchers. If that wasn't the case, you'd think Leal would have been bumped by now. Congrats to Dustin! Been a long road! Seems awhile ago now he was 17 and one of the youngest players in system... The Brewers have to be pretty high on him, be interesting if he is in Biloxi next year to start or BC... I don't think brewers could have him and Leal at same level.... At least prefer not, they are full time quality starters
  2. Explain that to Mark A and DM. I'm all for trading Luc, however, I highly doubt unless we clear a team out, that the front office will trade him by deadline. In fan talk, we can want it but reality is Mark and our front office prob doesn't.
  3. Man Arizona is Idle a lot, it's the most exciting team and seems they are off every couple of days
  4. Lucroy I say has a 0.5% chance of being traded. Too cheap, face of Franchise, and he is helping to manage and develop our young staff. Unless some team clears out their entire farm, he's not going anywhere
  5. I disagree he has zero trade value. Trade him for a player to be named later after his next start. Teams in need will be willing to take a change of scenery guy like Lohse with a long track record. Ultimately you will get back a C prospect who may never do anything but sometimes those Type of guys amount to something. Better than DFA him
  6. Brewers' Orimoloye dominates in Arizona Fourth-round pick homers twice, drives in seven runs in 16th pro game http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20150722&content_id=138131158&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_milb[/url] http://www.milb.com/assets/images/1/2/8/138148128/cuts/demi960_vel0c5eb_27otfvr1.jpg Some would expect Demi Orimoloye to be ecstatic about his two-homer game. But it was the ball he hit that didn't leave the infield that excited him the most. The Brewers outfield prospect slugged two homers and plated a career-high seven runs as the Arizona League Brewers beat the AZL Dodgers, 10-5, on Wednesday. Orimoloye wasted no time in getting started, slugging a grand slam to left field in the first inning for the Brewers. After bunting for a single in the third, the 18-year-old outfielder slugged a three-run homer, again to left, in the fifth. He finished 2-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base. "Good, it was real good," Orimoloye said of his day at the plate. "Today, we've been working on bunting, so after I hit the first home run, I bunted for a single, and I was actually even more happy with that because I got it down good. "I was just trying to see a good pitch to hit and when I hit it [the grand slam], I knew right away. That was really exciting." The fourth-round pick has been on something of a home run binge of late, launching five long balls over his last seven games for the Brewers. He's driven in 13 runs during that stretch. "Mainly just laying off the curveball and getting good pitches to hit," Orimoloye said. "The first couple of games I was getting a little bit ahead of them. Now I'm sitting back and I've been really driving the ball." Through the first 16 games of his pro career, the Nigeria-born Canadian has displayed the skills that had him so highly regarded heading into the Draft. He sports a .353 average with five homers, 17 RBIs and 11 stolen bases. Twelve of hits have been for extra bases. "It's been real good so far," he said. "I've been seeing the ball good and I've been getting real good jumps on stealing bases. Everything has been going smoothly so far. It's a great way to start my professional career." Gilbert Lara reached base three times and scored three runs while Joantgel Segovia collected two hits and two runs for the Brewers. Gentry Fortuno gave up a run on three hits while walking one over two innings of relief to improve to 1-1.
  7. The "Demi God" Orimoloye or "Orimoloye the Demi God" I think are fitting nicknames since at this point he appears to be more than human. The power and base running ability at 6'3 225. He is built even thicker than Harrison for the size. Teach the kid to walk more and hopefully make a little more contact and we could have a beast on our hands! No clue how he fell from late first/early second round projection to us in the middle of round 4!
  8. I think Wang will for sure, Sneed has shown no reason to repeat him to this point. Wouldn't be first pitcher to split A clubs then move up to AA. He kind of just keeps performing. Woodruff and Hirsh could repeat. Hirsh is older so may if he performs well he'll be moved up. Woodruff I think is a relief arm in the mold of a Goforth Magnificio. Brewers try to push him as a starter but his future will be in Pen
  9. Apparently Miguel Diaz will be pitching as soon as this weekend according to Gord Ash in a Brewers.com Monte Harrison injury article. He has been throwing live batting practice. Did I miss this posted somewhere?
  10. It's funny how far our system has come. Scooter and Khris Davis were top prospects, now the guys who IMO compare most to them (chris McFarland and Victor Roache) didn't make the list and the other was pretty low. I still feel McFarland doesn't get enough respect. His hit tool is a little below Scooter but his overall game with defense, base running, and fact I believe he does have the arm to at least play 3B or OF if needed gives him flexibility (that is based off old High School Draft reports though)
  11. Medeiros is THROWS flithy--Kirby PITCHES filthy. As if today, I'd agree Kirby is best LHP because of his polish. If you watched those last 2 innings of the CWS you could see that Braddock like slider tear Vanderbilt up. Not saying in long run Medeiros will not harness his stuff and be better however Kirby is older and is just a really good pitcher.
  12. I apology for leading the jinx charge on Burkhalter today.... Ha but does anyone has an updated scouting report on him?
  13. Has anyone looked at Burkhalters last 10 stats or his month to month splits? He may be one to watch pretty soon! http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=t572&player_id=657200#/career/R/pitching/2015/ALL 2016 Brevard County Rotation in a pitcher friendly league and park Kirby Ponce Mederois Burkhalter Ventura Love it!
  14. Ditto. He's still young so power will come. I think he could at least be a Parra type of valuable 4th OF. His ceiling is hard to predict as of right now. I don't really think he will ever be an All-Star type but think he could be a very solid every day player
  15. 1. Orlando Arcia 2. Gilbert Lara 3. Clint Coulter 4. Jorge Lopez 5. Monte Harrison 6. Trent Clark 7. Nate Kirby 8. Tyrone Taylor 9. Kodi Mederos 10. Jake Gatewood 11. Devin Williams 12. Marco Diplan 13. Demi Orimoyole 14. Tyler Wagner 15. Chris McFarland 16. Nick Ramirez 17. Taylor Williams 18. Victor Roache 19. Cody Ponce 20. Troy Stokes 21.Yadiel Rivera 22. David Denson 23. Joan Segovia 24. Nash Walters 25. Carlos Leal
  16. Honestly, Cisco and Reyes are two guys I think could be huge steals for the future. Cisco will eventually allow us to trade Lucroy and Reyes could be a monster at 3rd or 1B in future. Issue is their top arms have injury issues and none of the rest are very exciting. Hard to see how this trade could get done without Bundy or Harvey included.....with the injury issues...not sure you'd even want them included.
  17. I would think so, if we are getting Pompey and going for Blockbuster, I could see Tyrone Taylor being a sweetener for the trade. He could be a solid everyday CF but Pompey IMO has more upside and potential. I think Norris is most important piece to get. He has frontline lefty stuff. Fiers gives them their consistent and experienced guy. They haven't had the confidence to give Norris his real shut with them contending...We will give him that chance. We have ton of leverage if they want anyone because as Doug will say, "Im not motivated to trade them (a Gomez or Fiers)"
  18. Daniel Norris and Rowdy Tellez are the 2 I'd be most looking for. We desperately need a stud lefty in our rotation and a possible big time 1B prospect. Big kid! At 20 he earned his way outta Midwest league and now is lighting up FSL. He has power, hits for good average, and will walk....not to mention he has an awesome name to market!
  19. 1st is not to pull what we did in 2013?where we played great in August and September pushing our top draft pick back from top 3 to 12. Of course the young staff rolling. Be nice to see more Cravy, Wagner, even Lopez with the way he has been dominant. If Gomez and Parra go, hopefully Wren could get a look this season out there.... Schafer has had too many chances he has wasted. Ride out Perez to see what you have there. If segura is traded, see what Sardinas and Rivera have to offer. Hector Gomez has been pretty blah and isn't in long term future IMO
  20. From a mental standpoint, this is his stage and he feeds on it. He likes the big stage and U think it helps his confidence and focus by being now at the highest level. Anyone who use to watch him in college know he has that competitive it factor when pressure is on. Last year 2nd half, he was phenomenal! Sadly this year, him and his peers were feed to the dogs in Colorado Springs. In beginning of career, he had to change curveball grip, change mechanics a little bit. With an under developed change up and learning to control a new curveball, hard to see great results. He slid over on mound last year, harnessed curve more, and started to see results. I'm not saying he is an ace but I don't look seriously at what he did a AAA this year and understand earlier issues. With him, it's all about command. He is a contact hitter so defensive and luck is also important. As of now I'm encouraged and he is the most consistent starter in rotation with Fiers as of right now.
  21. Neuhaus has been pushed over to 2b a bunch this season and I could see that trend continuing. That gives him more hope. Of course, I talk about Perry jumping Denson....then Denson decides to just go off since then! They have thrown him out in LF as well
  22. Parra & Gomez stock is about to reach peak. Gomez is healthy finally and mashing, Parra has been playing out of his mind. The value we will get back for Parra is much more than what we were thinking a month ago.
  23. Lara's bat won't let him not be in that wave with that group. If anything, the rotate between SS/3B. I also think they will do best to let these guys develop as a true wave. Wisconsin all season, BC all season, Biloxi success will dictate if the play full year there or move up. *above is not accounting for a player who goes on prolonged tear. If Lara is hitting .400 with 1.250 OPS by end of June next year.... Well, then challenge him. All their ETA's would still be 21-24.
  24. Yeah is always my first check then Biloxi, then Helena, BC & TRats I will check for sure, DSL usually....Colorado...not so much. Amazing and exciting group! Perry is one who may push Denson out of the way next season. He is an impressive ball player (physically, could benefit from brewer trainers and dietitians) thing is that this is age 19 season already, will be 20 to start next season. He has a very professional approach at the plate. Denson could always walk and has power but has yet to hit at any level or stay healthy. Next year very well could look like 1B Tyrone Perry 2B iskenderian/Cuas SS Gilbert Lara 3B Jake Gatewood LF Troy Stokes CF Monte Harrison RF Trent Clark DH Denson or Belonis Few of the pitching options Diplan, Burkhalter (maybe repeats until all clicks) Nash Walters, Miguel Diaz, Jordan Yamaoto, Milton Gomez, David Lucroy, Drossner Not too bad, maybe most exciting wave since Huntsville Stars with Prince Rickie Hardy Hart Gwynn Jr
  25. Schafer will probably get his last chance to prove himself as anything more than a AAAA/ 4th OF for his defense. Tyrone Taylor isn't close to ready. Wren is off to a bad start in AAA as he did in AA but money is he'll turn it back on. I much rather see him up by August/September to showcase himself a bit. I don't think Reed not being called up to play CF doesn't mean they don't think he can. He has always just had better CFers defensively next to him. He is prob behind Wren on call-up list. Herrera long term in CF would be a disaster. He is a utility guy who can fill in here or there at CF, not an every day option
