Mayo, Ersan, Delfino all need to play and play well to boost their market back up. Not very much we can get right now for them
-
So here is a look at what I see for the roster right now. There are 15 people who I think are worth making the team. (Not Sold on Wright making it unless some moves are made to open a spot) A lot of flexibility. I prefer Sanders, Henson, Giannis, Parker, Knight, Middleton, Inglis, Marshall, and Wolters (maybe O'Bryant) to be pieces that all stay in place this season. Pachulia, Ersan, Mayo, Delfino are all expendable its just to bad they all killed their value last season. C L. Sanders Z. Paculia C/PF J. Henson J. O'Bryant Stretch 4 (PF/SF) Jabari Parker Ersan Illasovia PF-SF-SG G. Antetokoumpo D. Inglis SF/SG Khris Middleton Carlos Delfino SG OJ Mayo Combo Guards (SG/PG) B. Knight J. Bayliss N. Wolters PG K. Marshall

Love the Marshall signing! He plays a lot like Kidd actually so I don't think he could find a better coach to thrive under! It's not like he was some scrub either. He had a rough start but he was a very good prospect coming out UNC
-
Adrien is a tough guy but to say he could be a part of the puzzle for next 3-5 years is very iffy. There is a reason he has bounced around, and been a D-League guy. I think they see O'Bryant being an upgrade over him. Johnny O may not be as mean inside rebounding but offensively O'Bryant can score and make some plays....Adrien can make some lay-ups. He is a guy who really wouldn't see much court time if the Bucks put up a none record setting- losing team. He played a lot on an injured, beat-up, awful team. On summer team Giannis, Parker, and Nate are only three who 100% deserve and need a roster spot. O'Bryant is only other one who I think is an NBA caliber player on the team. I think he will make the 12 man roster. Really they are terrible, just brutal as a team. Giannis and Parker try to do everything because they NEED to....almost no one outside of Nate and O'Bryant offer really anything. Wright can dunk but thats about it

Here is a look at their highlights from summer ball 1) to second loved to see Giannis trying to take over and being so aggressive. He like Parker would only be Sophs in college this next season, sky is the limit for him and you can see a lot of KD developing coming out in his game. 2) Parker looked like he was pressing waaaay to much. He just needs to relax and let things come to him more. 3) It will take time, both are only 19 but with both reach potential we could have a KD/Anthony type combo! Thankfully Bennett was more qualified to be #1 pick in 2nd round than #1 overall..... Waiters will prob be gone before season, he has been on trade block since last year and with Allen prob coming, the dysfunctional relationship with Kyrie, and all the other stuff, just dont see him staying.
-
I meant they wouldn't be taking on any more. As in, there's no way they'd do that trade. The Bucks are going to have to give up something else if they want to unload Mayo on anyone. Probably at least a protected 1st round pick. Given that the Suns have 3 of them next year and 2 the following year, AND that they would be letting Bledsoe go due to a logjam in the backcourt, I see no reason they'd want Mayo back even with a lottery protected 1st. Giving up a protected 1st round pick is not the way to unload Mayo. He is still only what 25 maybe 26. He had a miserable season with injuries and getting out of shape but I think there are a lot of people out there who still believe he can turn the corner. Like Bucks, other teams saw same thing when he was with Mavs. It is not like he has forgotten how to play basketball. This guy was suppose to be the next greatest thing and still has potential to score 18 or 20+ points a game in the right situation. (If he gets himself physically back to where he needs to be.) I tell you what....Bledsoe makes Bucks a dangerous team! Not this year. 2014-2015 will be a season of growing pains, building chemistry but with them so young, talented, and growing together, this could be exciting! Parker and Giannis are the faces of the franchise. Knight I think is a great 22 year old combo guard who will have much more success at #2 where he can do what he does best which is work off the ball. Bledsoe has been overshadowed by Wall in college, Paul with Clippers and then he finally got his chance.... was starting to shine and then was lost with injury after 43 games. He has everything you could want in a PG and think Kidd could make him even better. Sanders and Henson are solid up front. I think it is critical for Bucks to finally decide what they want with Knight. Is he the PG of future or is he going to be off the ball? If he is their PG then I'd like to see if they could snag Austin Rivers from NO who is on market.

I'd absolutely hate a vet coach, unless u mean like a Tyrone Lue or Nick Van Exel who have never been a head coach before. It is a new start, you need a new, young coach with vision, passion, and energy. Continuing to go out a pick up other teams garbage that they didn't want anymore isn't going to help develop anyone. We need a long-term option for this very young team to grow with. Most important is us having a guy who cares more about developing and teaching these kids right now. There is no pressure on Kidd to win, he will be able to focus on letting guys get the minutes Drew was unwilling to (until he had no option cause of injuries). I think Kidd as all of the tools to be an outstanding coach. He has that passion, knowledge, leadership, work ethic, and attitude he needs. Not to forget he has vision of what he wants now, and what he'd like to build. He also will create an identity for this team that Drew couldn't do. His whole "power play" was simply him wanting to have a say in who they bring in so he can get his guys....guys that fit what he needs. That is not a bad thing. Him and King obviously weren't seeing eye to eye on what the identity the team should have. As long as Hammond is on same page with Kidd as he was with Skiles (I thought they were great together, John gave Scott the right players for what he wanted to do defensively and offensively) End of story I am WAY more excited about the Bucks now that they have a young Hall of Fame PG who has ton of promise as a head coach to grow with our franchise. Mark Jackson is the only Vet coach I was hoping for or would get excited about.

Was thinking same thing today ha. A lot of movement in this new one I predict. Arcia, Coulter, Taylor should all be in a tight race for #2. Kodi, Monte, Lara and Gatewood all are available for the list now. Jorge Lopez has finally really started to come on as a prospect now. The rising of Brandon Diaz. Think this one will be very interesting and look way strong than previous ones!
-
That's what the article I linked talked about towards the end and I do think it helps. From what I heard the players from the Nets didn't want him to go and loved playing for him. If KG and Pierce respect you as a player and as their head coach....that is saying a lot. Those guys are future hall of fame type of players. I really do think he will finally give the Bucks an identity and really help Parker, Giannis, Knight, and crew grow. Hopefully he can help make Bucks important again.
-
btw this is by far the best article I have read so far.... couldn't have wrote it better myself http://www.jsonline.com/sports/bucks/new-bucks-owners-got-it-right-by-hiring-jason-kidd-b99301525z1-265253251.html I really do love that we now have active owners who are aggressive and truly want to build something! Look what that did for the Brewers with Mark A. Maybe this was just a rookie mistake, it is something they wouldn't have to think twice about doing with their own billion dollar businesses. However when it comes to sports, the media makes everything into a huge deal and fans like to overreact. These guys didn't build their riches by not knowing how to build and company or knowing what they need. They payed 450 million for this franchise, they are working butts off to get a new stadium built, and make Bucks important to the city and state once again.....They are trying to bring in the people they feel they need to build a championship team...... But yet that all gets over looked because they went out and got a young coach who they feel could be great for the franchise.... People like Michael Hunt are nuts if they really think this is a terrible move. I believe in our new ownership and think Kidd is a perfect fit
-
Drew took over a pretty good Atlanta team and really didn't progress them with all the talent they had, hence why they didn't bring him back. Kidd had a rough start to the season, took awhile to form an identity and get team on same page. Literally they were brutal to start! 10-21. However, he got them fixed and they finished the season 34-17 I believe. A horrible coach doesn't get that ship turned around. As far as the power play... what coach doesn't want that. Why are the Spurs so good? Pop gets to bring in the perfect people that fit exactly what he wants to do. It is like Bo Ryan. Badgers are good because Bo brings in 5 star recruits; he brings in guys who fit his offensive and defensive scheme. Would Bo Ryan be as good if he had a guy over his shoulders bringing in guys that counter what Bo wants or don't fit his scheme? Phil Jackson also had the kind of freedom. It is hard to succeed as a coach when you are feed piece that don't fit your puzzle. Kidd wants to be able to build a team around what he wants. Bring in the guys he needs to be successful. I will not fault him for that at all. Hopefully him and Hammond can get on the same page and work together. Hammond was outstanding with Skiles (who I think is an excellent coach) he brought in the type of guys Skiles wanted and need. Issue with Drew last year was when Hammond over turned the lineup, it didn't really fit Drews style...which could be why no Bucks fan still has a clue what type of Identity he was going for.
-
Actually almost every prediction had Bucks in playoffs again as a 6-8 seed. So he wasn't given the worst team ever. He had to deal with a lot of ijuries and that hurt but his rotations killed any chance of the team developing chemistry. We all knew Drew wasn't the guy of the future. Lets not kid ourselves. With new owners and fresh start, they wanted their guy and they got him in Kidd. Why have Giannis and Parker waste another year learning a system that will not be around very long? Kidd will be a great mentor for the young guys. I have never once heard bad things about him has a teammate, leader, or mentor in his later career. He knows the game and I think a lot of the kids will look up to him. He is a hall of fame guy they saw growing up.
-
Also Hammond I believe needs a year. Due to Kohl he was force to always keep the team competitive and rebuild. He has always been a solid drafter. Impressive he landed Sanders, Henson, Giannis all in the mid to late teens. He made a great trade to get ride of my least favorite Buck ("franchise player") that I can recall in my 26 years of life.....Brandon Jennings. We landed Knight who I like way better than Jennings along with a great bench piece (even though he is better when he start) in Middleton. I want to see what he can do building from ground up as compared to having to do just enough to be competitive for last spot in playoffs
-
Drew actually was given a team that looked on paper a playoff team. He had some tough injury breaks but his rotations were awful and he is far from the guy I want to develop these young kids. One night Giannis would play 25 minutes, the following game he would play 5. Sanders before first injury was barely getting the minutes he needed to. Henson minutes were all over the place. Even Middleton who at one point was a large percent of the offense saw his minutes bouncing all around. No consistency at all. Injuries i know hurt that but when when health wasn't to bad it drove me crazy. I think its all about the vision the new owners have. They want to build from ground up. They want a new high energy coach to help develop these kids. They want a bigger name. Jason Kidd knows basketball that is for sure. I would have been nice if he would have gone the traditional path to get to where he is but I think he could really help develop the young guys. He is a competitor and a teacher. I'm just thinking of the great things he could do for Knight alone. He was not a player who had a 20 year career and a future hall of famer because he was so naturally gifted as an athlete. He was smart, a leader, hard nosed, hustler, and team player. That is what he can help bring to the team. Also I think he is much better suited to coach the Bucks than the Nets. The Nets have a lot of older guys who were his peers and fellow all-stars for along time. When a guy goes from being your peer to coach next day that is tough transition. I'm sure KG and Pierce, etc respected him but it is much different coaching guys you have played with for long time to coaching young kids who just remember watching you when you were young. I mean our core 5 players are Sanders 25, Henson 23/24, Knight 22/23, Giannis 19, Parker 19 then mix in Middleton 23/24 Wolter 22/23, Inglis 19, O'Bryant 21/22, Mayo 26 Ersan 27......We are a young team and after we move a couple of pieces maybe even younger. Think it is a perfect situation for Kidd
-
What I see happening tomorrow 1) Bucks draft Parker. Zero percent chance they trade out if he is there. He wants to be a Buck and he is Hammonds guy 2) Bucks draft Wiggins. Knight-Wiggins- Giannis is an explosive transition 1-3. That is also great defense their with size of 6'3, 6'8, 6'11.... not too bad not to mention the length it gives us. 3) Trade out of 2 with Sixers maybe Orlando to get 2nd Lottery pick. Bucks love Exum and would take him at #3 or #4. Either way, I have a feeling no matter what, Bucks will trade back into the 1st and hopefully back into lottery. They are open to trading Ersan (zero need for him anyway) Sanders, Henson, and Knight, not to mention the 3 2nd round picks they have to add in there.

Tomorrow is a huge day! I'm hoping for 2 1st round picks and to clear out some trash.
-
Harrison was a very good baseball player when he only focused on it 4 months a year (as he was too busy starring on the football and basketball court....literally he was incredible at both) Now this is his whole life....i think he is just going to develop in to a top prospect! Not just a Brewer one either. His eye at the plate and overall ability (base running, defense, hit tool) are all there for him to make the rise.
-
Mark Reynolds has had a pretty nice career so far and continuously is a MLB starter. I see Roache being able to put together a Reynolds like career and teams will deal with the .200-.240 BA and 200+ K's due to the impact power he offers. I doubt he will ever really improve his hit tool too much. He is a one-trick pony and that his his golden ticket
-
1) Doesn't matter where he wants to play, if Bucks pick him, he will have to man up and make most of it for 5 years. 2) Philly wants to move up to make sure they get him. If i'm Bucks I start the "Bucks want Wiggins" hype.... Either they are forced to move up to 1 to grab him which will give us Emiid or Parker at 2 or we strike a trade and move back a spot and still get Parker plus extra picks. Leverage it

I'm sold on Chavis at #12 as I was on Baez a few years ago. With such a lack of impact bats and abundance of power arms in this years class....Go get your impact bat in first then you have pick 41, 51, and think 83 to land yourself some high quality arms. There should still be plenty big, high ceiling arms available at #41. Chavis just has that swagger/confidence that you want in a player. That Braun & Lawrie (except seems less arrogant than Brett) which is very important in a failure sport such as baseball. Fist thing you always read about him is his incredible attitude and energy that he brings to the field day after day. I love that! He doesn't have any tools that jump off the board but he is very good at everything and should only continue to improve.
-
Denson almost has more hits in May than he did in all of April and is hitting .325 over his last 10 games. Being young in the league and with the cold weather it prob took awhile for him to get adjusted but seems he is looked in now. He is seeing the ball better and I think the power is the next thing to rise! Also as I say everyday....Michael Reed is still to overlooked as a prospect I think.

What do you think of our Wang? Slot Worthy?
Jenkins5 replied to lcbj68c's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I love what Wang offers as a prospect however as of now he is just that....a prospect. Maybe we could talk Pirates into a head up Weeks for Wang trade and solve two issues for us while giving us 2 rosters spots for Fiers, Figuro, Hand, Wooten or another long arm and a utility guy. While he has great stuff and is projectable, the fact is he is raw, doesn't know how to really pitch yet, and being on a winning/contending team...he doesn't have the time to learn. This isn't the Enrique Cruz days were we are terrible and can afford to keep anyone who is just a body on the roster. I'm torn on what to do with him because I like him as a prospect but don't feel he is ready enough to contribute at the MLB or contending team level. I guess DM has to decide if the juice is worth the squeeze on the ceiling of Wang. I believe if we stay healthy with the bats (Think we have enough quality arms we could still compete with Nelson, Fiers, etc) we really can contend.... Do we focus on having best 25 man roster possible or do we risk making a move to help the future?
