I read somewhere that the Coens had Sam Elliot do one particular line like 13 times. After take 13 he asked them if there was something he could do differently. They said no. They got it on take two but just liked hearing him deliver the dialog. That's great. Can't say I blame them. It's an all-time line delivery.
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man... Wow, I just watched that movie last night. Its been too long. I dont think I would have caught that quote otherwise... Dude. Sometimes, you eat the bar...
Ok, I had been hoping to merely not get swept and for all to leave this series without injury. Now I guess I have to add COVID-free to the list. I get it, but we've had plenty of exposure and a good vaxxed percentage. Plus, on-field transmission is not super likely. Pretty low-risk for the Brewers on that front.
I think a game like this is basically a save situation. A win means enough that you don't mess around with a 4-run lead just because it isn't a 3-run lead. If you were going to bring in Harder after one baserunner, what's the point in waiting? Guy hasn't pitched in 3 days.
Twins have been better lately. This felt like a trap series to me. Win tomorrow, and you're at least where you started the week. That's all this team needs to do--play even with the Reds for 5-6 game stretches, and the needle moves ever-closer.
Losing isn't fun. On the other hand, I'll take a series win against the Reds and Hoby Milner pitching two clean innings. Saves the pen for another day.
Yeah...if you were gonna use Hader, I just think you do. But I one area I totally concede to the Brewers is rest and management. That seems like the place where teams have proprietary analytics I cannot even imagine.
Run prevention is simple sometimes, ain't it? Good D from Avi tonight. Made a bad decision in the 1st throwing to third, but now a great play and an earlier outfield assist.
Cain had a bad AB. He's been good for the Crew. Bradley got put in a tough spot, couldn't get out of it. Brewers have been good in those runner on 3rd, less than 2 out situations lately. Can't come through 100 percent of the time. Just hope it doesn't cost them.
That ump scorecard confirms what lots of folks thought last night. Nice to see the analytics back up intuition. A run and a quarter has to be one of the most lopsided zones all year, right? Wonder if that's trackable... Great to take that game. Hope we get May Woodruff. Taking the first two would be really nice, especially because you wouldn't even have to think twice about resting Adames during a matinee. Edit: just saw the Phillies had a +2.4 or something zone last Wednesday. They lost the game 4-2 somehow. If strike zones are routinely advantaging one team by a run or more, that's the best argument I have seen for robot umps. If blue could just keep it within half a run either way 95+% of the time, I'd be cool with that. But when inconsistency can so favor one team...might be time to let it go...
Love a stress-free save. Could use a big performance from Woody tomorrow. Williams and Hader especially have had a lot of usage. Strickland too. Would love to see Woody, Cousins, Box. Or just win 12-4.
