  1. That is possibly the silliest SB attempt I have ever seen. Knebel hasn't thrown strikes. You are one pitch from being there anyway.. .dumb. Hope it costs them.
  2. You can really see why Narvaez gets poor marks as receiver when you watch him every day. He makes close pitches look not very close.
  3. The NHL situation seems better. 2 bubbles. Different cities. You'd really only need two diamonds per site to make it work.
  4. I don't like the Cubs (and Contreras really, really rubs me the wrong way), but I wish the Brewers had a little more of that focus and camaraderie happening. I haven't yet seen a team with that level of energy and togetherness, and I respect it. (Ducks)
  5. The Urias thing bugs me a lot too. Treating him like a platoon guy is weird. Granted, it's what? Three games? So maybe that changes. But that's one place where I'm completely lost.
  6. I think this: Garcia is not as bad as he's looked. Narvaez is not as bad as he's looked. Sogard has been pretty much exactly what we thought. In a normal year, we'd be halfway through April. Maybe 162 is no different than 60, but the condensed schedule means judgments happen more quickly. Look, I'm not trying to be an apologist for this lineup. It looks really, really bad. And CC has made weird choices. But what are we really quibbling with re: Stearns? Are folks really saying we know enough to say Garcia and Narvaez are terrible? I mean, Smoak and LoMo, they were cast offs and crappy, and we were hoping they'd be hot. They're not. But that's like one scrap-heap signing we're complaining about. It's a different conversation if folks think Garcia and Narvaez are going to be bad bad for a while. Then I think we just disagree, and that's okay. For me, jury's out on those two guys, and I won't burn Stearns at this point (yet).
  7. To be fair to Stearns, this roster was constructed with a 162-game season in mind. Building for 60, with Cain opting out and Urias missing a lot of time, is a completely different thing. That said, I agree that these guys look pretty bad.
  8. I'm okay with taking the out. This lineup is good. Concede the one because it's hard to shut teams out, and it would have taken a really good throw to get Hoerner. Avoid the big inning. Plus, 1 feels like nothing after the last few nights.
  9. Never good when all nine starters have a hit through 3 and two-thirds, is it?
  10. Good point and makes me feel better ... thank you. Some pretty bad team is going to make a deep run this year (assuming playoffs happen). Why not us?
  11. The craziest thing is this bad team could make the playoffs and throw Woodruff and Houser at you, with some nasty BP arms to boot.
  12. Error and some weak hits. Badly played fly ball. 3 rums.
  13. Maybe it is just me, but given Lauer's repetoire, it seems pretty obvious he should be throwing to Pina.
  14. Haha. This is great. It is all riding on his first AB for me The Twins are good but struggling in their first real, extended road trip. So, hopefully those struggles continue.
  15. This makes me much more interested in tonight's game! Will be glad to get a look at Urias!
  16. Looks like series is officially PPD. That is 13 games the Cards will miss. I say this without Cardinals bias: if this were Brewers, I would be like, why are we still tryong to play baseball games. And MLB's response has just been....non-existent. At this point, doesn't it make sense to just remove the Cardinals? I mean, they are going to be 3 weeks idle when they come back...it is a big recipe for disaster injury-wise beyond any COVID risk.
  17. Agree, but apparently Sogard has a bad foot. I imagine that is the decision driver...
  18. Grisham looks great, no denying that. But I do think he's one of those "pitchers have to figure him out" guys. Urias is more toolsy. I am waiting until after 2021 to really get a sense of that trade.
