  1. damn i checked and he's basically responsible for all 5 runs. that's very disappointing considering it's the cubs. just when you think he's starting to get into a groove he goes and stinks up the joint. good thing the brewers are playing the cubs. they still have a great chance of winning this game.
  2. Exactly. It's not a slam dunk like people are saying. I would take the SS every time. I also think Segura is going to show more power than he's showing right now and this is only the beginning. It's scary to think how good Segura might end up being. His hitting is only going to get better. As time goes by his intelligence and feel for the game will improve. I think that he's going to get bigger as well. What he eventually sacrifices in speed will be made up for in power. I'm very very excited about Segura's future. It's been such a long time since the Brewers had a legit SS.
  3. I would take the SS every time. That's makes no sense. Its not like CF isn't a premium defensive position. I didn't say that CF wasn't important. To me SS is the most important position when it comes to defense. CF is #3 behind catcher. Maybe you value CF more than I do. I prefer the elite SS over the elite CF. You can't really go wrong with having any of these guys on your team. They are all young and very talented. I guess it just comes down to preference. Having an elite SS can make a heck of a difference. Look at how Furcal's elite defense made a big contribution to the Cardinals back in 2011. A SS with Segura's defense could have made a huge difference for the Brewers in 2011.
  4. If there's one team that Gallardo usually owns it's the Cubs. Weeks has been playing well lately. He should be in the 5 spot. Francisco should hit 9th. Gallardo is a better hitter than Francisco.
  5. I'd take Segura. I put a high amount of value on elite defensive SS. A SS that can hit, run, and play defense? I'm locking that guy up to a long term deal. Out of the 3 on that list I would take Harper. Harper is very young and has ridiculous potential. I agree with you on the Stanton comparison. Harper has that big time HR potential. Smooth swing and stride.
  6. This should be fun to watch. I have been looking forward to seeing Hellweg make his debut. Big flamethrower
  7. [sarcasm]Weeks needs to give back his paycheck![/sarcasm] someone is ******** lol
  8. this explains it all http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrobcJa_EV8 lol oh the cubs..
  9. For this stretch I was predicting a sweep of the Astros and 1 out of 3 against the Braves. Dropping 2 out of 3 to the Astros was terrible. However, they completely erased that by taking 2 out of 3 against the Braves. Now with the Cubs coming up the team can pick up 3 wins. Brewers could be under double digits after the Cubs series.
  10. It would be nice if the Brewers had a pitcher like Matt Harvey. The guy has 2.16 ERA and 115 K's. The guy is killing it right now.
  11. juan francisco sucks. gallardo would have been a better pinch hitting choice
  12. nice at bat weeks! bases loaded let's tie this motherfreaker up!
  13. its being reported that gomez suffered a left shoulder sprain
  14. That's a good point. Maybe all of this bad luck is actually going to end up being a blessing in disguise for the Brewers. The team is likely to plummet in the standings with Braun and Gomez out for a while. The drop in record could force Attanasio and Melvin to sell. For the short term it might suck and be difficult to watch, but for the future it could pay off big time. I'd rather the Brewers suck for the next 3 years if it means returning to being a contender soon. Gomez is probably the team's best trading chip not named Segura or Braun. I think that Gomez could bring back an elite prospect plus 2 more decent prospects. Different combos of Axford/Henderson/Rodriguez could bring back a good prospect. Gallardo and Aoki could bring back good prospects. A-Ram could bring back someone. Those trades could jump start the farm sytem and reduce the waiting period until the team is a contender. Depending on who we get I would expect a good team by 2016.
  15. this was fun until i read that gomez got hurt. damn damn damn
  16. well this is fun! schafer and lucroy coming up in the clutch. plenty of time left to tie it up.
  17. If true then it's a smart risky move by his agent. The Brewers have to take a risk and ''overpay'' for Segura now before his play is ''worth'' $70 million to $100 million. The Brewers took a risk on Braun and it paid off. The team has the best player in the game signed for well below market value. If Segura is going to be as good as I think he will be, he's going to ask for big time money soon. Take a gamble while he's still affordable and lock him up. If you have to give him 60 to 70 million than so be it. Those are the kind of moves a small market team has to make to keep their young talented players.
  18. Yes indeed. I'll be very happy if I end up eating a crow sandwich at the end of the year because of Weeks. Hopefully he gets hot and we can get a nice pitching prospect for him.
  19. Negotiations would have to start with Matt Harvey. I would want Harvery plus another prospect or two. Segura is that damn good. He can hit, he can run, he throw, he's got range. An elite SS that can do everything is probably the most valuable hitter on your roster. No thanks to Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, lol Buster Posey, Molina, Tulo, or Cabrera. Only way I would give up Segura is if I get young pitching in return. Hell if I was Melvin I'd be talking to Segura's agent right now about a contract extension.
  20. great game by hand. a series win against a winning team is awesome. the brewers haven't done that in a while. congrats to k-rod on save #300. it's cool that he got with the brewers.
  21. Stole the words out of my mouth. Do we dare see Axford in the 9th? Btw, Peralta 7innings shutout ball. Nice work. For his struggles this season, I don't want to see him moved down to AAA. He may not be the #2 we all hope he can become but if as a #4/5 on the team long term, if he can provide #2 type outings from time to time there's a place for him. I agree. I think that it's best to just let him figure it out in the majors. If sinks he sinks, if he swims then the team has a reliable pitcher. He's shown flashes of brilliance as well as flashes of crap. That's what young pitchers do. You have to wonder if better coaching could get these guys to pitch better. Willy has the physical stuff that you can't teach.
