  1. I did it for game 5 of the NLDS in 2011, bought from a scalper for $60. We scanned the terrace and saw what looked like 2 unclaimed seats up there, and watched from there from the 3rd inning on. It was crazy though, ushers had to keep SRO people out of aisles and there were 30 or 40 people minimum trying to watch from every vantage point.
  2. Possibly, but I wouldn't read too much into it. Neither has pitched in a while, so they need to keep everyone sharp in case they're needed at some point. I'm sure they've done the same with Anderson, Williams, Barnes, etc. I was going to say, there are probably 7 or 8 guys throwing bullpen sessions and staying ready. Guys like Thames, Saladino, Nottingham, etc are probably taking regular BP and/or playing in simulated games every other day to stay sharp and continue to see live pitching....juuuuuuust in case.
  3. Take that away and they will lose about half their accounts. The way you are awarded your playoff strip doesn't really seem fair to SSH anyway, to be honest. My seats are in the terrace, 421 basically all year. They stick me in 414 for the playoffs. Yet when I go into the presale or even the WI sale, suddenly the best available terrace seats are where I was sitting all year. SSH willingly overpay on regular season tickets to get their privileges. I had a bunch of games with $18 face value ticket that were $6.32 on StubHub. Non-SSH are never complaining about that, only when it works in reverse. The only SSHs who get their regular seat in a postseason are full season ticket holders, because 20 pack customers share each seat they have with up to three other SSHs. That's when they take SSH longevity into account (and it has to be consecutive years; we'd go back to 1993, but we sat out 1995 because of the strike, so the Brewers consider our "rookie season" to be 1996). Why some of those seats are then available is a puzzler, though. I'd guess it's SSHs who were ahead of you in longevity but then didn't buy the strip? Or seats they set aside for possible new SSHs? Maybe assigning those directly to new SSHs is more efficient than checking back with existing SSHs to see if they want to upgrade. I don't know. At the risk of rubbing anything in, which is not my intent, I'm going to echo Patrick425 on the overall benefits of SSH longevity. I've always felt reasonably valued as a Brewers customer, despite not being a top-dollar spender. The perks of recent years are pretty cool (we went down Bernie's slide in April and last year did a Family Play Day that got us access to interesting parts of the park). But last week's NLDS games were literally the first time I found myself thinking "man, all these years of support are paying off." I like our postseason seats that much. They're in the center of the loge within about 15 feet of the TMJ radio booth, so we're about as centered behind home plate as Bob and Jeff are. I'm very jealous of those playoff seats. I get my 20 pack seats in the loge infield and have for 8 or 9 years now. My playoff strip seats are in the very last row of loge infield. I haven't been able to make a game yet due to the game times and work, but being that far back and basically in the concourse near all the standing room only is a bit of a rough draw. I would have rather been further down the 1st or 3rd base line and in the middle rows than at the very back end. I took advantage of the early buy option to get better seats, and will either sell my 20 pack seats to family and friends at cost or on SH if nobody wants them. It's been about 50/50 so far. I guess I'm trying to point out another situation that could come up where it is beneficial for a SSH to have the early access. And again, I'll remind that SH resale isn't going anywhere. If SSH didn't have early access, 50 different joe schmo ticket brokers would utilize software to buy up tickets like crazy and probably gouge even worse than the SSH are currently. If my only 2 options are for Joe Schmo ticket broker to profit, or SSH that actually support the team to profit...easy decision.
  4. For those wanting Chacin to pitch 3 times this series, and twice on short rest, maybe take a look at his season numbers vs the Dodgers. They have many talented lefties and will certainly stack them against Chacin and his slider.
  5. I'd tend to agree here. Those people using rally towels as placemats...nope. Not happening. If someone else wants to let you back to your spot after you go to the bathroom, that's their choice but not something you are entitled to. As noted above, sounds like a nightmare. So many arguments waiting to happen with standing room only.
  6. Right now I have 2 people going with me and am working on getting a 3rd for the final ticket. I have the 1 ticket listed at a fairly obscene price, to the point that nobody will buy it, and will leave it there until I get a resolution on finding one more person. Anywho, I'm going into the "get more pricing info" screen on my listing and can see how many are left. Also if you get the SH app on your phone and scroll down the home screen to the game you want, it will show you how many are available. It won't show if you search for it, you have to scroll down and find it.
  7. If you are good with SRO or terrace, I would wait until day of. There are 4,000 seats available right now and more still being listed. Prices will drop at some point as sellers panic to avoid not selling at all. Different story though if you care a lot where you sit and want good seats...especially with any potential LA people flying in.
  8. I don't see using historical numbers with Davies, when he hasn't even pitched against the Dodgers this year. At this point, it would be how well has Davies pitched the last month. My vote would be to drop one of Broxton, Granderson, Schoop and add Cendeno. If they want to replace Peralta with Anderson, I would have no problem with that. But make sure pitch Anderson pitches at LA and Miley pitches in Milwaukee. LA is still harder to hit a HR at, right? Chacin games 1, 4, 7 Miley games 2, 6 (want to get Miley games at Miller Park - as ground ball pitcher) Gonzalez (with quick backup) 3 Bullpenner 5 (day off after this game) You have Guerra, Peralta, and Woodruff to eat innings if there is a bad start. I agree with many points. One tidbit on Davies, if he's had success against them historically and they haven't seen him this year...could that be considered an advantage? Maybe, hard to say. It's well documented that Schoop needs to be on the roster. I like the thought of Miley pitching at Miller Park. I'm anticipating Miley and Chacin as the 2 primary starters with 3 johnny wholestaff type games. I don't think we have Chacin go on short rest. I'm anticipating Miley in 1 and 5, Chacin in 3 and 7, bullpen games 2, 4, and 6. That splits up the bullpen games a bit so we don't have 2 of them in LA. If they do the roster how I'm hoping, you'd be looking at GG/Woodruff/Guerra/(Davies or Anderson) and going with 2 or 3 of those guys each game to try and bridge to the 5th or 6th. If it's going well in any game and we have say a 2-0 lead, you can leave the starter in longer and/or go straight to burnes in the 4th or 5th inning.
  9. Unfortunately they’ve done it for LCS games in the recent past in LA and San Francisco We'll see. LA is still a huge market, and I'm not convinced that Boston vs Houston is that much more "sexy" than LA vs Milwaukee. That argument would hold more water if it was Boston vs NY and Milwaukee vs Colorado in the CS or something similar, but that's not the situation.
  10. Well, here are some things I'm not sure you are considering... - I have seen some posts on this site questioning why anyone would be a season ticket holder since there are so many opportunities to get discounted or even free tickets throughout the season. This is true and I probably could attend 20 games each year for a lot cheaper than what I spend on season tickets each year. - I have been a season ticket holder for the last 25 years. Think about some of those years. The Brewers were horrible and during those county stadium years, there were maybe 10,000 at the most at some of those April games that were in my ticket package (was a 15 game package prior to Miller Park opening). During some of those 85-100 seasons I was paying a pretty good premium for most of those games as they were doing countless discounts to get seats filled. Probably the #1 reason I continue to renew my 20 game pack each year is because of the post season opportunities granted to SSH. Also, if I decide to sit out a few years, I lose my place in line (seniority gets better seat opportunities for post season). If they took that perk away, I most likely would discontinue my season tickets. Other factors, many SSH act with integrity and get extra seats for family and friends. Also, if SSH aren't buying and listing on SH...it's 100 different Joe Schmo ticket brokers from out of state and from 50 different accounts each and making pricing that much worse.
  11. Last year, the weekday games were at Houston and at Chicago. They were at 4 pm and 8 pm central time. I imagine they would do the exact same thing this year except the NL game would be late considering it's in LA. Last year on Saturday they had a 3 pm and 7 pm central time for game 2. Game 6 I would anticipate at 7 pm central, and game 7 will depend on whether AL goes to game 6 or not. If it does, game 7 would probably be the 3 pm.
  12. If the Dodgers take a lead on Friday, I'm blaming you...
  13. I guess I'll be the 4th or 5th guy to agree on keeping Guerra. I'd like to get Anderson or Davies onto the roster, but definitely not at the expense or Guerra.
  14. Their bullpen is arguably as good as the current Brewers' bullpen (if all guys are healthy/firing correctly) but they also have a modest weakness at starting pitcher, especially since Severino started struggling in the 2nd half. Basically it comes down to a 108 team beating up on some vulnerable starting pitchers throwing off all of their strengths. Right, the Yankees are still a very good team. The offense is built more like a regular season team, with an offense that can crush bad pitching and post big numbers. You don't see as many hanging breaking pitches and middle middle fastballs in the postseason, need to have a better approach. The Yankees do have the good bullpen, but have been unable to bridge to the good bullpen with the lead against the Red Sox
  15. Because Schoop sucks and his roster spot could be used by someone more useful. Gonna put Saladino on instead? If you take of Schoop all you have is Perez to back up 3 spots while keeping 3 OFs to back up at spots where they'll never start a game. It's Saladino or Schoop, so I don't think it's close. IDK, maybe we can get Sogard back up. Right that's the argument. If you keep 5, you really can't use Perez until very late in game. Same principle as not using your backup catcher until you have to. If we use Perez in the 4th or 5th inning and Shaw or Arcia or Perez gets hurt in the 7th...what do we do? You may not notice it, but CC generally will keep one infielder on the bench until at least the 8th or 9th inning. So much of the strength of this team is flexibility, no way to do we limit that by only keeping 5 infielders. So if not Schoop, then yes you're looking at Saladino or Sogard or Orf or someone that can play middle infield. It isn't going to be a bench of C, Santana, Granderson, Broxton, Perez. You need that 6th infielder.
  16. If you go to the trading post forum, only brewerfan.net people can see in there(not guests) and a couple people have some listings up. That would be the place to go.
  17. I'm not sure if this is listed in the article above, but I noticed that Yelich is 500 career against Kershaw, this season he's 4 for 6 with 2 HR and a double. That's certainly helpful, hopefully that continues. Pretty much every other brewer is very bad against Kershaw. Here's hoping Yelich can carry us
  18. We can't get rid of Schoop. Doing so leaves Perez as the only reserve IF option and makes it very difficult to use him early. That's basically a hard no, I'm not sure why this idea is gaining so much traction as it makes zero sense. One thing to note, Dodgers are loaded with LH SP. Their rotation will consist of Beuhler, Kershaw, Hill, Ryu...possibly Wood instead of one of the latter lefties but I doubt it. That's 3/4 LH SP, I suspect we'll see Perez or Schoop get some 2b starts this series in favor of Shaw. Having Shaw available off the bench a decent amount makes Granderson a bit expendable...as we'd have a lefty for late game...but I doubt that happens either. It almost certainly comes down to Santana or Broxton in favor of a pitcher.
  19. I highly highly suspect that Peralta was pegged for game 4 action in Colorado. I also think he would have been used sooner except pretty much everything with pitching went optimally all series. No starter got pulled super early, and Woodruff/Burnes bridged the gap perfectly that first game. I believe Guerra and GG also didn't see action, which means we used 8 pitchers the entire series. That said, I think Peralta was kept due to his success against Colorado and his experience pitching in altitude this year...I would be very surprised if he wasn't swapped out for someone. I'm expecting Broxton and Peralta to go for Cedeno and either Anderson or Davies.
  20. For terrace and SRO, you are generally best off waiting until the last minute. The last 500-1000 ticketholders will panic and tank their price, happens every game. Demand might be a little more tough for CS and potentially WS games, but that's how the DS went.
  21. How crazy that the best 4 teams advanced to the CS? I mean that non-sarcastically. It seems like generally a team that doesn't deserve it sneaks by in the DS. I would say the Yankees aren't as good as the Red Sox or Astros, so if the Red Sox win(which I expect) then the best 4 will have advanced. Hard to say we are better than the dodgers, so at this point I hope we can buck the trend and sneak past. I wonder how much of an underdog we'll be, I also wonder if Kershaw starts game 1 or they go with Beuhler like they did in the DS. I would assume Kershaw but I also didn't think Beuhler would start game 1 of the DS and he did.
  22. That means they were 77-47 against everyone else. Which is still over 60% wins and extrapolated over 162 games is still better than any NL team. For me, it's hard to point to one of the likely remaining 3 teams and say "I definitely want to face this team of the three". All 3 are stacked and we'll be an underdog against any of them...assuming we can get past the dodgers.
  23. Well there likely goes any chance of home field in the WS. Houston just took a 4-2 lead and are threatening for more.
  24. Man, it's hard for me to even think about a potential AL opponent. Right now, all I want is the Braves to win today. At minimum, it means Kershaw pitches Wednesday and we'd only see him twice if the Dodgers advance.
  25. 10 rows up you'll be obstructed by the railing at the bottom of the stairs (which start at row 9, I believe). It might be bad, it might not. You all will be standing a majority of the game anyway, so it probably won't be much of an obstruction.
