  1. Yeah ok buddy, is that why the Brewers were able to chase them down in September and have won something like 5 of our last 7 games against them? The most scary team in the NL is the Dodgers, other than them...no team jumps out as an "oh man I really don't wanna face them team". The Cubs are no more scary than the Braves or Rockies in my book...heck I might be more concerned facing the Cardinals than the Cubs, but that's moreso because of history than team talent.
  2. One thing you can do is list and sell now. Cub fans likely aren't buying tickets to this game yet. That will change around 10 pm tonight if they win.
  3. I'm going to try to go Friday, and unload my Thursday games. 315 is much more doable than a 1 pm game.
  4. I find it super suprising that they went with the central time zone game as the early game, and the east coast time zone as the later game. That seems stupid, unless maybe they just assumed since it was red sox that people would be tuned in no matter what. It won't be that way this year, seems a foregone conclusion that we're looking at 3 pm and 1 pm for game times. Very disheartening.
  5. But "cheaper" tickets for those of us that don't have them that may want to go. I agree with snapper. I really hope we don't get screwed on game times, but if it is indeed 330 and noon I'll have to sell my tickets. Cub fans gives us better resale situation. I'm not super concerned about the stands being loaded with cubs fans for the DS, I would be surprised if it was even 1/3 cub fans. You could see by yesterday that Brewer fans are motivated to attend these games.
  6. For real. Their pen is trash. If a guy looks decent in the pen...they should roll with that guy as long as he remains effective. That's what they did with Chavez yesterday, he was by far the cubs most effective pitcher. Starters give them an opportunity to find a guy throwing well and let him go 3-4 innings if game situations dictates it to be reasonable.
  7. Cub fan support for that team seems to be waning a bit. There isn't the same excitement and confidence in that group as there is in Brewer fans...or other teams fans really. I would be surprised if they won today.
  8. I couldn't care less who wins this. I really don't want to root for an opponent, just feels like bad karma. Cubs would be better for resale assuming the playoff schedule is stupid times.
  9. This would be fine for me if it wasn't in the middle of quarter end closing(accountant here). These games will fall on top 10 busiest days of the year for me...no way can I take off work for them. If the game times truly are 330 pm and noon, I'll be unloading my tickets as well. I'd have to at minimum hope for a game 5 so I could go to 1, or advance to the NLCS in which case I'll go to every game.
  10. To me, you need someone like Guerra (or Davies or Anderson if you think they can throw out of the pen). If it's 3-3 in the 9th and we've matched up/pinch hit the majority of our bullpen, you need Guerra waiting back there ready to pitch 4 extra innings a la Lyles in the marathon Pirates game. If not, you're almost forfeiting an extra innings game or you'll have to have tomorrow's starter go and fake an injury the next day to get an injury replacement on the roster. I completely agree. Woodruff and Burnes are definitely multi-inning guys too, but right you want a guy like that as strictly LR for an extra inning game...a guy you hope to never use but he's there and ready when needed. I'd prefer Anderson in that role over Guerra...with Davies as the 4th starter in my scenario. We'll see though.
  11. I understand the thought, but I don't think you want to go bullpen game as noted. I think you need a 12th pitcher and Broxton goes. I'm also a bit surprised by Guerra. I guess I would go same as you except Davies and Anderson over Broxton and Guerra. I also generally disagree with those wanting to keep schoop off the roster. We don't want to go into the DS with only 5 IF, that would significantly hinder double switch situations as we'd want an extra early in case of injury.
  12. Has to yank him. No choice. You can not leave that up there to face Cain and Yelich. I get it, but he's leaving himself super thin for the rest of this game. I'm not sure how he plans to piece the rest of this together. And will he really have Cishek face Yelich?
  13. Wow at Maddon here. I mean Wilson hasn't looked sharp but man will he have anybody left for the 9th?
  14. Excellent location on those curves. If Rizzo can reach out and hit one hard...tip your cap.
  15. Oh you can and you should. You're right, he is locked in. Belicheck style managing here...don't let Rizzo beat us today. Make someone else do it.
  16. Is it going to be Soria if it gets to Baez? I like that matchup for us if so. Would prefer Cedeno get Zobrist here though...
  17. I think it's the right call. You should be able to bridge 3 1/3 with the pen but you have to score. That's on the offense, not the hook. He was starting to really labor anyway. I could have understood either decision. We have plenty of relievers to get the remaining outs. As long as nobody cracks 25 pitches, the pen will be fine for tomorrow.
  18. I can definitely understand going to Cedeno here if that's what's happening. I also could understand leaving Chacin in there.
  19. Absolutely not, I'd expect Cedeno to face Murphy after this AB barring a GIDP.
