  1. I can generally agree with this. Also as noted, pitcher was rattled. That was seriously doing him a favor. Who knows, he might have had a 3rd wild pitch in him...
  2. I can understand skepticism about a bullpen game, but a) Woodruff is basically a starter, and b) it's not like Miley would've gone 6 or 7 innings, anyway. Any of say 6 or 7 guys that throws well will pitch at least 3-4 innings. The goal with this team is to get the game to at least the 6th inning. From there, Hader/Knebel/Soria/Jeffress can hopefully finish it. I anticipate the latter 3 basically penciled in for an inning every game.
  3. I was thinking the exact same thing, in fairness the Rockies did win 9 of their last 10 and seriously wrecked some teams. So it's not like he was wrong that the Rockies were hot. That said, surprised that he didn't even notice our 8 straight.
  4. Watching the pre-game, apparently Papi went 0-7 on his picks last year and picked the Brewers...I know this really doesn't mean anything but I'd prefer he have gone the other way. A-rod and Thomas picked the Rockies and the D-Train picked Milwaukee as well.
  5. You can tell he's disappointed, but I wouldn't say he had a significant issue with it. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2018/09/23/chase-anderson-scratched-scheduled-start-against-cardinals-monday/1383746002/
  6. I would say 3+, not 4+. But your point still stands. I'm not sure Hader or Burnes go more than 3. Even Woodruff and Guerra going 4 or more would require them to be seriously locked in.
  7. Noted in the other thread, but Broxton would be out for "this series and the next" so game 5 and for the NLCS. Could return in the World Series. I didn't realize they woudl then be out for the next series. I imagine that's put in place to avoid shenanigans?
  8. You are allowed to swap a player in the event of injury. So yes, basically tell Broxton to sprint into a wall after game 4 if needed.
  9. If this has to do with the Cubs and Terrance Gore, they wouldn't have been in extra innings if it wasn't for him. Would you prefer to lose in regulation or extend a game into extras while losing an offensive threat? And, Keon's offense is light years better than Gore's (not saying much). Exactly regarding Keon vs Gore. Keon is actually capable of getting a hit. He's definitely high risk to strike out but he's capable of offense and isn't a virtually guaranteed out. I also don't see a situation where Keon takes multiple AB anyways. He wouldn't run for any outfielder, and if he ran for Aguilar we probably would put Perez in and move Shaw to 1b.
  10. He'll make a good play in RF or steal 2nd and score a run in one of these games. He'll be nice to have assuming we can get by with our 11 pitchers. He might. I just hope he doesn't come off that bench to hit before Santana or Granderson. Just have a feeling we will see him far too often. My guess for today would be Schoop as the first PH off the bench(unless there's a bases loaded spot or something), saving Granderson and Santana for later in the game and dependent on matchup. I think Perez will generally be insurance and be relatively glued to the bench except for super late game or extras.
  11. He'll make a good play in RF or steal 2nd and score a run in one of these games. He'll be nice to have assuming we can get by with our 11 pitchers.
  12. For the lineup today, I'm going to guess: Cain Yelich Braun Shaw Aguilar Moustakas Kratz Arcia I firmly believe it should be Pina today, not Kratz. I just get the sense CC will put Kratz in because he's a grizzled vet...or something. The Rockies have basically 2 guys that steal a substantial amount, Story and Desmond. That's enough for me to want to play the better arm. I would normally go Schoop here, but Arcia has been hitting so well I think he definitely should be starting virtually every day.
  13. I would be surprised if we ran into this again at any point during the playoffs. Tomorrow's game is Friday, it's easier to make happen and ticket prices tell you it will probably sell out. Any potential game 5 will also surely sell out no matter when it is. NLCS would be all fridays and saturdays, which also lends to our potential opponent traveling. And WS will obviously sell out, especially if a Red Sox or Yankees makes it.
  14. I'm shocked only 11 pitchers. Of those, all but Jeffress, Soria, and Knebel I would consider likely multi-inning guys if effective. Chacin is probably scheduled to start games 2 and 5 if necessary. Other than that, I'm expecting maybe 2 of the multi-inning guys trying to bridge 5-6 inning per game.
  15. As of yesterday that wasn't the case. I checked yesterday and all 3 games were 100% sold out. So clearly the team kept some on the side and now made them available.
  16. I had no trouble from my phone getting 115 row 12 for all but 1 game and row 13 for the other. Weird that I ended up in 115 for all the games, I'm good with that though...right by the brewers dugout and on deck circle. I found this a much better value as you noted than where my 20 pack is, loge infield at 165. Also another note for resale, the dodgers would probably travel much better than the braves...so if we face the dodgers and you can't make a game, you'll probably do just fine.
  17. I'm a bit concerned too. It's a game time thing, I had to unload my 4 tickets solely due to game time. If it was at 7, I easily could have attended and found 3 other people wanting to go. I can't imagine there will be too many empty seats. And Friday will for sure sell out, much easier to take a half day on a Friday than Thursday.
  18. I'd argue that Hader, Jeffress, Soria, Burnes, Knebel, Woodruff, etc. got the Brewers to the playoffs with some help from Miley, Chacin, Gio. I'd further argue, how much did Gio really help us get to the playoffs? Miley...sure. Gio, minimal help. He made 5 starts, 3 good ones against crap teams and 2 mediocre at best ones against decent teams. I however would make the same argument for woodruff from that grouping...except he's clearly been far better than Gio over the the same time period.
  19. A reminder on what to expect for pricing. DS/CS/WS Field Diamond platinum - 230/315/405 Field Diamond box - 210/290/385 field infield platinum - 135/220/380 field infield box - 125/200/360 field outfield box - 85/165/310 field bleachers - 55/100/240 loge diamond box - 100/185/320 loge infield box - 85/165/310 loge outfield box - 65/125/270 loge bleachers - 50/90/225 club infield/outfield box - 85/165/310 terrace box - 50/90/225 terrace reserved - 40/70/200
  20. I get your point, confidence is a good thing. Rodgers saying he thinks we can run the table is a bit different than what Baez is saying here.
  21. I'm sure that "They run their mouths a lot" is a shot a Cole Hamels right? Interesting quote because about 2 weeks ago he was quoted saying that he hopes the Cubs don't have to play the Brewers in the playoffs. Baez vs. Brewers: .206/.263/.291 (.544OPS) 0HR 9XBH 141AB 52K That's a reeeeeeeally high k rate for an mvp candidate......
