  1. Anyone who started the game on the bench today should be in the starting lineup tomorrow. Arcia, Kratz, Aguilar, and Perez should all start. I see Braun, Thames, and probably Moose all sitting today.
  2. I firmly believe developing his slider was his point of emphasis this offseason specifically to prepare for a bullpen role. It's very similar to how Nelson kept showing up to spring training having developed a new pitch or solidified a pitch. I could see him doing the same thing but with his changeup. I'll agree it's unlikely, but the door isn't closed yet.
  3. It was the first base umpires call. Tomorrow then. All 4 of them should have figured that out though, I bet even the Reds thought he should be out.
  4. I can't believe that just happened. And I'm sure these umpires will all get a raise and pat on the back. I hope all 4 of those guys stub their big toe on their way off the field.
  5. I've been saying that Aguilar hasn't been as good in the 2nd half, it generally gets shot down everytime I say it though. 222/319/385 since the break with only 5 dingers. For a 1b only, that is not good enough. Perez 308/357/508. All of Yelich, Cain, Braun, Perez, Shaw, Pina, and Yelich one more time for good measure...are posting very strong 2nd half numbers.
  6. Osuna generally seems excited for what actually happened to be released and available to the public. I'll be curious to see how this all plays out. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2018/08/29/roberto-osuna-astros-domestic-violence-justin-verlander/1125119002/
  7. The guy who handled the sample broke protocol and the sample should have never been tested. It should have been thrown out the day it reached the testing facilities. To make matters worse the failed test was leaked to the public. Braun was wrong in using the product but everyone involved in this process was wrong as well. This process failed at every single step. Don't sit here and pretend Braun is at fault for other people failing to do their jobs properly. This guy sounds like the Cubs fans that boo Braun...but don't really know why they are booing anymore. And then cheer for a medium deep fly ball like it's a 450 foot homerun.
  8. In *somewhat* positive news, the Brewers' deal is ending when the Cubs' deal is (2019). So I do wonder if we're expecting to maybe go over that $110-120 million theoretical max that we believe Attanasio has either in 2019 or 2020. Obviously I'd expect the Brewers to go from $25m/year to like $45m/year so it wouldn't be that major of an increase. You don't think it would jump higher than that? Considering the ratings this year and we are in a competitive window. I found a 2016 fangraphs article that says the Rays got $20 million in tv revenue and that got bumped to $82 million per year. It sounded like the increases will be spread over 15 years, but still a much better deal. According to that article, the Brewers were at $24 million. I would like to think we can get a similar deal to the rays.
  9. It really makes you wonder why the Brewers tv deal is so dreadful. The number the Rays are getting is way more than the last number I remember seeing for the Brewers. Brewers are the smallest market and signed their last deal back at the turn of the century when they were terrible. That all makes sense. A 5 minute google search has told me the Brewers current deal runs through 2019. I've also read some really good things about our tv ratings this year. I would like to think we are going to see a very significant increase in tv revenue with the new deal after 2019.
  10. This probably isn't random news when the deal goes through. Goodbye competitive balance (whatever was left of it) in the NL Central. It really makes you wonder why the Brewers tv deal is so dreadful. The number the Rays are getting is way more than the last number I remember seeing for the Brewers.
  11. I tend to agree with this as well. You don't even mention what the potentially astronomical costs associated the tracking it would take to ensure a clean game.
  12. Hate a guy for the rest of his career over one thing he did what 7 years ago now? https://www.sbnation.com/mlb/2013/7/23/4548572/ryan-braun-biogenesis-brewers-dino-laurenzi As noted in this article, he did not try to villify him.
  13. 3 innings, at least 4 runs. It can be done...need to start soon though with Iglesias looming
  14. Keep chipping away. A quick inning by Lyles would be great after that tough inning for Cincy. Keep taxing that pitcher.
  15. We do have 6 innings to come back, and in a tiny park no less. Chip away boys...
  16. The guy at 3B thought there was 3 outs and ran to the dugout. Yet they allowed him to go back to 3B. CC is right, that's trash. He should be out, you forget how many outs there are that's your own problem.
  17. I know Guerra sucks, but I feel like CC gave him the appropriate amount of time to get it together considering we aren't to expanded rosters yet. In September, he shouldn't have gotten out of the first inning.
