  1. We have enough talent that we could easily get Realmuto without giving up Hiura, but I'll also agree that package is light. If I got that offer, I wouldn't hang up the phone until Realmuto was on a plane to Milwaukee. I think Burnes, Ray, Feliciano is more realistic. If we avoid including Burnes/Peralta/Hiura, then I think it'd be something like Ortiz, Ray, Nottingham, Supak. I think either of those deals gets it done, but either trade could be trumped by a team willing to overpay...like for instance if the Nationals include Robles in a deal. As for Archer, I honestly just have no interest in dealing with such a delusional front office. There are other pitchers we can target that are equally valuable and don't require our entire farm system.
  2. I don't think it's even remotely fair to say anybody is Hader 2.0. Even with all his success, trying to now say that Hader could be Sale 2.0 as a starter is wildly unfair.
  3. Not really atypical anymore. High fastballs are in. As for Roegner, 25 is old for A ball regardless of where he's from. Doesnt mean he can't make it, but we'll see how he does on Biloxi, which will be soon. Even if the curve is above average-plus...I'm not sure that's enough velocity to be overly successful on 2 pitches in the majors, even in relief. If he can add some velocity, he can very likely be a good reliever. If he can improve a 3rd pitch then he has a real shot to start. He still has plenty of time though.
  4. Aguilar is a decent sell high candidate with Thames returning soon. I do think Aguilar is good hitter, and looking at his advanced metrics is quite something. Soft-med-hard contact rates are 10-46-44 this year. For comparison, Mike trout is 15-40-45...Freddie Freeman is 13-42-45...Joey Votto is 8-55-37. Aguilar is making consistently as good if not better contact than some of the best hitters in the game. With that said, he's a negative on defense and the bases...if his bat ever cools he's a negative value player. Depending how bad the roster crunch is, a trade now may make sense. And it's impossible to know how I'd feel about moving him without knowing the return. I think the Jason Rogers return would disappoint me now, although I would have been happy with that return in March. I'd either want a top 100 prospect at this point or him to be a major piece in a trade for SP help.
  5. I argued in favor of Sogard and Perez all off-season. However, it's becoming more and more obvious that they aren't going to come even close to their peak production (Sogard last year, Perez in 2016) and their career production hasn't earned them the benefit of the doubt much longer. At this point, I'll take a random Aguilar start at 3B once or twice a month and/or Sogard, Perez, or Saladino as the only back-up 2b/SS if it means having Choi to PH several times a week. The way Suter fields the P position, any chance he could backup at SS/2B? We all know he's a better hitter than Sogard/Perez. Ohtani who...?
  6. has to be a disabled list move, because choi has not met the minimum 10-day stay in the minors yet. In that case, only Davies makes sense, especially since they'd want to give him extra rest anyway, but then Choi just goes back down next week, which doesn't do much for the whole he wants to play more or be traded angle. EDIT: And Thames will likely be back soon too. Maybe they want to showcase Ji-Man for a marginal positional trade? Like maybe a reserve shortstop...as our SS depth is bleak due to injuries.
  7. I think 14-12 seems about right, and primarily because I think a cold snap will start for this team at some point in June. I feel like we'll win 2 if not 3 against the White Sox and split against the Indians, maybe it will be the Cubs series that sends us spiraling a bit.
  8. Has the Brewers twitter been trolling teams like this all season? It's a bit obnoxious in my opinion...
  9. That's 19 wins in May. Going into the month, I would have been happy going 14-13 against the teams we were lined up with. 19-8 is fantastic. Let's keep it rolling into June.
  10. All that said, I'm not sure I go with Knebel. He can't be put in in a spot with traffic, his control isn't good enough. Shoudl have probably gone Albers. Jeffress is an option, but he's been used already.
  11. I think it's time to pull Hader. 33 pitches, and he hasn't been all that sharp this inning.
  12. Do we have anyone warming in the pen? 28 pitches...I'm not entirely sure he should face Gyorko...
  13. I can't get enough of Aguilar's 2 strike hitting ability. Sometimes he has a nice short stroke, but he's also hit 2 strike homers. I think just about everyone on this team can learn from his 2 strike hitting...
  14. A bullpen that likely doesn't have Hicks available after 2 innings yesterday...
  15. I wouldn't go that far. We're 1-1 on the series and losing 2-1 today. Doesn't exactly qualify as pathetic. Neither team consistently blows us out...
