  1. What kind of seats were you able to get for game 2? That’s the one I want because my daughters who go to games with me can’t go on weekdays. I am only eligible for the 10 Pack Presale on Friday. I got in maybe 45 minutes late and was able to get 2 tickets in section 220 for a friend.
  2. He's really shined in the big moment when it's come, and what bigger moment is there than a critical at bat in the playoffs against the team that traded you as more of a punt than anything? As you said though, hard to see him making the roster barring injury. If he was fast he'd have a better shot, but the plus glove as his only real tool isn't quite enough.
  3. I did the same for a friend. I agree I would not expect a primetime slot. Friday could be wildly unpredictable with 4 games to schedule all at different time. We could potentially have a noon game. Saturday with the Giants/Dodgers as the home team will get the 7 or 8 pm slot while we get the 330/430 pm slot.
  4. Game 1 of the NLDS is going to have wildly different fan interest than a hypothetical game 6 of the NLCS with a 3-2 lead. 4 years ago I would have been beating down the door to get to any NLDS game. Now it's certainly exciting but i don't NEED to be there as we've been this far quite often recently.
  5. That's really not all that surprising. 6th and 7th inning either we're getting a tired starter or a non-elite reliever(s) most of the time.
  6. I took a few minutes looking at Woodruff's last start against the Cardinals. Gave up 6 runs, obviously not what you want. He gave up 3 doubles early in the game on exit velocities below 83 mph. Those are fairly lucky dumped down the line i'm sure. Also both HR he gave up later in the game were on middle middle offspeed pitches. I'd expect Woodruff to attack with his fastball a lot more today than he did in his last start against them, hopefully he'll have more success this time around.
  7. I believe it was 4 tickets, but for only 1 game. You couldn't get tickets for all the games like NLCS/NLDS.
  8. As great as Stearns has been here, I'm not sure he could be so successful in NY. Their payroll while larger is fairly hamstrung by a few players that mostly aren't worth their contracts at this point. Degrom yes if healthy, Cano/Lindor/McCann absolutely not. Solely from the roster building perspective, he's going to have a much more difficult time. And that's without considering the toxic culture and hands-on/toxic owner. That overall feels like a no-win situation for whoever shows up.
  9. I made thousands off the NLDS in 2018. There was a window where the assumption was the Cubs would be here and the day they were eliminated I sold a batch of seats to that game for something like an 800% mark-up that were field level along first base. They lost the WC game that night. I can't remember if they locked people out for the NLCS. I'm pretty sure they didn't start doing that until the World Series. And they let you back in if you promised to stop. I wouldn't expect them to be forgiving this time around. One thing I'd be interested to know is what the penalty is if I sell WS pre-sale tix. There is no next round to penalize me with. A next season I guess, but who cares? I thought the same thing about WS. The punishment would certainly be worth what you could get. I remember that swing and I did well in 2018 also, but I don't expect the market to be nearly as good this year for quite a few reasons...reason number 1 as you noted no cubs.
  10. How many players are in your league? 2? How do you have all those guys?
  11. I really don't like this getting put into the universe...every game this team wins increases my cards ptsd.
  12. Ehh you might be right but I still think NLDS will sell out. Weekend games certainly help. Game 5 definitely will if it happens. I don't think the demand is going to be ridiculous that you'd make much money on resale if you went that route though.
  13. Agreed 100%. I don't mind limiting innings on certain pitchers, but healthy bats need to play. Also maybe Cain doesn't have to dive into walls over the next 2 weeks, that ball can just drop and that's fine for now. Other than that, guys need to start playing like the games matter.
  14. I would have been right there with you had I picked Cephus instead of Benson. I'm not sure why I thought Benson was best at the time but I had the Jones/Rodgers/Adams/Hockenson core and then Cobb as one of my cheap guys. Went with Benson over Cephus at the MVP spot for some unknown reason.
  15. I still think we split this series. We have the pitching advantage every time we play the Cards. Our 5 is better than their 1. We'll get 2 of these next ones.
  16. In the email blast I received regarding the presale, they specifically note on the email that if you resell you won't be eligible for the next presale. It's nice they explicitly stated it this time, last time I had no clue that would happen and I sold during NLDS and had to call my rep and promise not to sell them again to get further presale access. So I definitely recommend not buying these to sell, certainly would be a shame to not have access to world series tickets to make maybe a couple hundred bucks during the NLDS.
  17. I'm seeing Wainwright for today with Happ on Sunday. So the Cards get to deal with Peralta, Woody Houser and Burnes. I honestly don't really fear facing any pitcher the Cardinals have. I feel like our fifth best is better than their best
  18. Urias has been very good but Escobar isn't being forced into the lineup, he has also been pretty good. Certainly room for both - Rowdy/Vogelbach would be the guys to see less ABs. I suspect there will be at least a couple times it comes down to a choice between the 2 at 3b and CC will go with Escobar and I'll be annoyed. Both have been good, for 3b specifically Urias is the better option by a small but definitive margin. At 1b it's tough to quantify because Escobar has probably been the better hitter but doesn't have a ton of experience at 1b and you can't really have an error due to inexperience in a playoff game.
  19. When Adames gets back, I sure hope we don't forcefeed Escobar into the lineup in the playoffs and leave Urias on the bench. He's been one of the best 3-4 players on this roster since the allstar break and has double the WAR of Escobar since Escobar's acquisition. Having all those players is a good problem to have, but Urias needs to be in the starting lineup everyday in the playoffs...which probably means Escobar plays 1b or hits the bench.
  20. I would agree with this to a degree. I think even Burnes will have a much shorter leash in the postseason than regular season. We can't exactly afford to leave a starter in to get beaten up for 6 runs in 4 innings. That's literally punting a game. With Houser/Ashby doing so well, I'm hoping we'll have those guys ready to go as soon as the starters stumble. Lauer, he's performed so darn well I think he's forced his way into starting game 4.
  21. The Brewers have a 12.5 game lead with 16 games remaining. What you are suggesting is not an absolute statistical impossibility, but it is definitely toeing that line. I will get borderline nervous about the division if we don't clinch this weekend AND the cards 4 game sweep us next week. I'll also be incredibly nervous about what we'll do in the playoffs considering that will be pretty embarrassing this close to the playoffs. All that is pretty unlikely though. Most likely people should have their celebratory beer ready for this Sunday or Monday. Cards play the Padres this weekend and I'm kinda expecting SD to get 2 of 3.
  22. Does anyone think Rodgers gets booed on Monday? If not, then what if we have a dud first half like last week and he just looks not right? If this happened not after the current offseason, I would fully expect a Packers blowout this week. It seems like that will happen on paper but Rodgers just looked so bad last week. I think best case scenario it takes him 3-4 games to get back to maybe 90% form. The only way we get the blowout we want is if the running game just blows the Lions away, and that's certainly possible and what we should be looking to do this week in my opinion.
  23. We went through roughly 20 years of mediocre-bad baseball before Braun came up. Braun played here a long time and was very very good. Without the PED thing he's definitely hall of very good and he probably did enough to hang around in HOF voting for most of the 10 allotted years. With PED's he probably exits the HOF conversation his first or second year. I don't really think Yelich impacts Braun number retirement one way or the other. I'm not sure how long teams normally wait to do such a thing but I suspect they'll retire Braun's on the earlier side of what's normal.
  24. I guess Suter is the long man tonight in case Freddy's start gets cut short due to weather/ineffectiveness? Or I guess they could just go bullpen game too. Might have been a good idea to save Ashby for tonight instead of pitching him three innings in a blowout game. This is more or less a moot point. With the day off yesterday and again Thursday along with expanded rosters(15 pitchers on the roster), we have something like 8-9 guys available to pitch in relief tonight. Gustave, Norris, Sanchez, Suter, Strickland, Cousins, Boxberger, Williams, Hader. With how the Cleveland series went, CC will probably be lookin to get some of these guys some work no matter what as some probably haven't pitched in almost a week at this point.
  25. Is there any doubt his number will be retired, and relatively quickly?
