  1. Pretty sure the Starting Pitching market needs to get kick started and whether or not the Yanks are sellers before we get any action on Lucroy or Smith.Hopefully start seeing some big trades soon. Houston only 2.5 back of Texas now, Texas might be getting desperate real soon.
  2. No Lucroy in the lineup today...hopefully a #hugwatch all night...
  3. Looks like the Indians are sitting Mejia out with no real reason, speculation is that he'll be traded, I'd be very tempted to sit Lucroy out until he's traded if I were Stearns......be like winning the Powerball and losing the ticket the next day if Lucroy gets hurt at this point in the next week.
  4. Heyman is saying its a long shot for now with the tribe
  5. Was listening to MLB radio this morning, they said a source from another team talking to the Brewers are not considering "package" or "sweeten the pot" deals with other teams. They look at it as their players are more valuable on their own. Might be why teams are saying there is a high price tag on our players. Probably 2 week away deadline talk but if someone sweetens the pot for an additional player of ours, especially with the high price tags, I'm hoping Stearns is open minded.
  6. Only thing I don't like about the Braves is that their appealing top prospects are very young, not sure if I were a first year GM putting most of my eggs on my biggest trading chip in Rookie ball through AA ball Of their top Prospects: 1. Swanson, 22 in AA, likely untouchable 2. Newcomb, 23 in AA, 50 BB in 88 IP, not a Stearns guy 3. Albies, SS, 19 in AA, definitely a Stearns guy, but might be untouchable 4. Allard, 18 in Rookie ball, very good control, definitely a Stearns guy, but in Rookie Ball 5. Touki, 20 in A, 46 BB in 83 IP, drafted by Montgomery, but not a Stearns guy 6. Riley, 19 in A, looks like a solid 3B, but in A ball 7. Jenkins, 23 in AAA, nothing screams impact pitcher 8. Banuelos, 25 in AA, 24 BB in 32 IP, not a Stearns guy 9. Fried, 22 in AA, looks solid but not spectacular 10. Sims, 22 in AA, 60 BB in 86 IP, doesn't look like a Stearns guy Just my thinking from Braves top 10, they are unlikely to deal Swanson so the only person in AA and above from their top 10 would be Albies, everyone else is in lower levels or has terrible control(which is what I mean by not a Stearns guy). I find it hard to see a match with the Braves with Lucroy.
  7. Absolutely! Great opportunity if teams are interested in Jimmy or Guerra.
  8. With Espinoza dealt to the Padres, not too thrilled with a Red Sox trade now with Luc
  9. I would love a Lucroy to the Rangers, but they have bigger needs than catcher. They are looking for more SP and RP help which we can help on the RP end. They need to make a move for a SP which will require some big prospects and I would find it hard to believe they'll want to deplete their system with 2 big trades, would love it, but doubt it. Not getting my hopes up high.
  10. I would be very upset if the Brewers wait until August 1st to deal Lucroy. There is nothing left to prove, he's been rock solid the last 3 months. If I'm Stearns, I tell clubs that we are accepting final offers in the next couple days. The best offers are negotiated and he's gone. One little injury and the haul is gone. There has got to be an offer out there that he'd accept. His value will never be higher than right now.
  11. When the Brewers told Wilkins that he was promoted to the MLB team, they mentioned in the story that David Stearns was in the clubhouse when it happened yesterday. Sky Sox just happened to be playing the Oklahoma Dodgers tonight with Jose De Leon pitching...hopefully some last minute scouting by Stearns for a trade with the Dodgers of either Lucroy or Braun. De Leon's gone 6ip so far with 9K, 3h, 1BB and 2ER with 78 pitches. Edit, one of those hits happen to have been a 2R HR by Arcia
  12. Over by double Lucroy Hill Nieuhenwuis Thornburg Scooter Boyer Torres Smith Crew has some good bullpen pieces and they are in high demand for playoff run teams, if teams want to overpay for them, do it. Hoping Lucroy goes sooner than later, seeing Maldy take some balls off his body today makes me very nervous with Luc getting another injury right when we need him most. Braun dealt this winter.
  13. Market for relievers looks to be pretty strong this early seeing that Chris Paddack + another from the Marlins went for Fernando Rodney.... http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?player_id=663978#/career/R/pitching/2016/ALL
  14. I did some looking and couldn't find anything, anyone know when these International signings are available via trades? Could they be included in this years trade deadline?
  15. Both Seniors, no leverage.
  16. Ian Kinsler is hitting 298/353/502 with 14hrs, I think their 2b is doing ok
  17. Both Tate and Brinson were thought to be close to untouchable at the start of the season, both are scuffling this year. Tate's first 3 starts were awesome, since then he's had 1-2 good games and a bunch of stinkers. Brinson is at 219/273/417 for the year in a repeat of AA. I wonder if Daniels would sell low on both or consider them untouchable or if the Brewers Front office views them as elite prospects anymore.
  18. As mentioned in the Braun thread, the Rangers have a need for some pitching with Lewis, Holland and Darvish all on the DL. Rangers catchers have been coming back down to earth and below average the past 30 days now. In the past week, this trio has 1 hit in 22 AB's and 10 strikeouts. Last 30 days Holaday 250/231/417, 24 AB's, 1 HR Wilson 234/255/298, 47 AB's, 1 HR Chirinos 167/310/542, 24 AB's, 3 HR I still think the Rangers are a long shot, but another week or 2 of struggles with the C position and it could be a strong need. I would be open to including any SP on our staff with Lucroy if it brought back top talent, even it if means Jimmy Nelson. And with the Astros surging, Rangers could feel the need to make a big move. SP will be their first priority, but C could be up there very soon.
  19. I would love to see a trade to the mets of Lucroy and Braun, have it leaked, get Mets fans hopes up, then we nix it based on a physical
  20. I get that, but I will severely disappointed if at least one top 60 pitcher doesn't come back from Lucroy, now is their chance to get a stud We aren't doing it through Free Agency Devers has a high ceiling but he hasn't done anything in the minors yet and they aren't sure if he can stick at 3B 233/300/335 at high A, 4HR in 236 AB's 284/343/434 career minors 2014-2016, 22HR in 966 AB's If it was Espinosa and Moncada I would love it
  21. Brewers need impact pitching back from trades
  22. +1 Would have thought there would be a lot more rumors at this point with his all star play right now. Especially when Lucroy said in the offseason that he thought he was going to be dealt like 5 times.
  23. I'm really hoping the Astros continue to play well the next couple weeks. Luhnow came out earlier this season and said they need to be hovering around .500 at the end of June in order to make significant moves. They are sitting 1 game back of .500 and 4 games out of the wildcard and won 7 of their last 8. Their starting pitching hasn't been great, been better of late, they have 10 blown saves this year, so they could use some reliever help and obviously use a catching upgrade. Some people mentioned that their front office might be gun shy to deal with the Brewers as the last couple trades/Brewer pickups have been looking better for the Crew, but I think Lucroy is a different story. He is playing at an All Star level right now. When we traded Gomez, he wasn't having a great year by any means. You add Lucroy and a back end reliever and this team is much better overall and primed for a playoff race. Astros could trade away some prospects and still have a deep farm system and no better person to pick and choose which ones are the most valuable in a return than Stearns. Can the Rangers rely on their catchers to play far above their heads the rest of the season and into the playoffs? Leak some info out about trade discussions and we could have a nice bidding war between the rival clubs. If I had a choice on who to deal Lucroy to: 1. Rangers 2. Astros 3. Dodgers 4. Boston
