  1. I believe he will be traded this winter. He gave up more than 3 earned runs twice in his last 12 starts dating back to the end of July after sitting out the first 2 months. I think we will eat enough money to bring back a lower level prospect. He will have a $5M club option in 2018 as he will not meet the 110 games started in the first 4 years(71 through the first 3). That is a very reasonable for a 5th starter who can pitch like the last 2 months we had him this year, especially if we eat a bunch of money on it. We have young arms that need pitch for us. I think Stearns is highly motivated to move him and there will be a few teams looking for end of rotation starters.
  2. I'm not really up to speed on the minor leagues and affiliate rules. The Brewers have CS at AAA, Biloxi at AA, Brevard at High A and Rattlers at A Do the Brewers have any say at all about which City hosts which level? Could they have Colorado Springs go from AAA to A and Rattlers to AAA as an example? I think having CS at any level kills development, but if you have it in the lower levels, you can at least have the players get their feet wet before bumping them up. Or just a pipe dream?
  3. Is Braun eligible to be traded right after the World Series? When does trading season open up again? For some reason I was thinking it was the GM meetings.
  4. If Stearns is offered a good package this winter, I'd move him. I think there will be really good offers for him this winter too. Been solid when healthy. Not sure what history shows on his type of elbow injury, his non-surgical recovery and chances of repeat are, but I'd rather not see him go through that in a Brewers uniform again.
  5. I think Brett Martin was called up with Mendez... I see Brett Nicholas the catcher, but not Brett Martin the pitcher... http://www.wfaa.com/sports/rangers-get-a-look-at-mendez-with-september-call-ups/312890303
  6. I think it will be announced next week as the minor league season ends and I would be very happy if its one of Leody Taveras, Ariel Jurado, Brett Martin, Payano or Anderson Tejada.
  7. Other than Braun, do we know if anyone else cleared waivers?
  8. Which team says no to: Puig De Leon for Braun and cash Brewers try to flip Puig this winter.
  9. Puig claimed by unknown team....
  10. I thought Stearns said at the end of the Minor League season.... http://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/columnists/tom-haudricourt/2016/08/06/haudricourt-did-brewers-get-enough-texas-trade/88318510/
  11. So we should know next week maybe? I don't see any games scheduled past Monday for any league. I looked around and couldn't find anything on playoff schedules. Last year it looks like they ran from Sept 9-20th. I wonder if we need to wait until playoffs are done or if the player we like is done, we can just claim him?
  12. Brett Martin has been looking pretty good since his recent return from an oblique. 6'4 lefty starter in High A with a 3/4 delivery. Touches 95 with the fastball with a plus curveball. He's my guess and hope.
  13. I thought I read that if you were a PTBNL that you can't appear in the MLB's until the trade goes through. Gallo got sent down to the minors on 8/2 and didn't appear in the majors since the trade deadline. Could the PTBNL be a list including Gallo and Mendez? That would be a great haul of it was. That would certainly give you pause on announcing. Otherwise I think Mendez with anyone else on a list is a no brainer. I find it odd that both Stearns and Arnold are talking up the pick, just don't see that too often and would think a major piece is coming back.
  14. I'm saying Mendez, would be so awesome
  15. If Maldy hits .240/.250 I'll buy season tickets for you. **Saved for future reference He did hit better than that in 2012
  16. Maldonado is under team control through 2018, Susac through 2020 and Pina a rookie, what do you think will be the strategy going forward for the Brewers at Catcher? Let Maldy start the remainder of the year then try and trade him this winter and have Susac as the primary catcher for a few years with Pina backing up until one of the younger catchers in the system rises up? I'm not sure what Maldy's value is at this point or what type of return he could get, but if he can hit .240/.250 and with the solid defense, that is what alot of teams would love. He's a career 219/294/341, but in 2012 he did hit 266/321/408 in 256 AB's.
  17. Thank you Thank you Thank you, what do I win? you get nothing, as you changed your vote to 0. I'm changing my vote to this as well, I have the sickest feeling that he's asking way too much for our guys, 4 top 100 prospects have been moved for meh talent, if we don't get any of that, he overplayed his cards Someone hacked my account...
  18. I am just hoping he can close this deal and get a solid return for Lucroy after last nights debacle. Preferably soon so I can go to bed before midnight.
  19. Jurado is pitching right now FWIW
  20. Gallo likely involved in Lucroy talks
  21. This isn't a hard thought. Package a pitcher get fair value. It certainly is when many people have said Stearns is not looking at packaging players.
