  1. If looking for a 3 teamer where Braun goes to Dodgers, Puig to a 3rd team and we get prospects, either the Indians in RF or the Mariners in RF or LF would be good candidates.
  2. I think a starter or two will definitely be moved prior to Opening Day(hoping Guerra and Nelson for a couple nice pieces), I think Garza pitches well in the 1st half and traded at the trading deadline Hoping they pickup either Neftali Feliz or Drew Storen to close for the time being and flipped at the break Braun will be moved prior to Opening Day either to SF or Dodgers Scooter will be gone prior to Opening Day, not too many fits at this point, but I think a couple injuries in Spring Training will open up some more possibilities
  3. I have confidence that Stearns will move him if he feels he needs to. We still have almost 3 months before the season starts, lots of injuries and needs pop up in spring training. He might have to go lower level prospects versus the higher ranked ones as it gets closer to season start. If he can move Jason Rodgers, Segura, etc and get quality talent back for them, he can pull this one off.
  4. I would do this if I were Stearns. Nice work on the player trade values, BTW. A more interesting question if the Dodgers aren't interested in Villar would be... If you are Stearns would you trade, OF-Ryan Braun (+8.8) for RHP-Walker Buehler (+10) ??????????? Could the Dodgers take on all that salary without taking anyone off their payroll? I was under the assumption that the deal for the Dodgers was to shed some bad contracts.
  5. There's a scenario....wonder what type of return the Dodgers would give for Villar.
  6. Maybe a leak by a reporter that SF is in talks about Braun and maybe nudges Dodgers make a move so they don't have to play against him for the next 4 years, wishful thinking.
  7. I still think Giants could be a landing spot if Stearns feels desperate to move Braun before his 10/5 rights kick in and the Dodgers are out . Giants are capped right now with a big hole in LF(Williamson/Parker platoon). They have a good core of players signed through 2020 in Cueto, Posey, Samardzija, Crawford, Melancon and Brandon Belt with Bumgarner and Span signed through 2019 so they have a good 3 year window to make a few runs. Matt Cain is owed ~21M the next 2 years, if no money is exchanged Braun for Matt Cain - 6th Starter Tyler Beede Chris Shaw - Blocked by Belt Lower Level Arm SF would gain a little flexibility the next 2 years. I'm sure Stearns would be interested in Christian Arroyo, Giants were talking about moving him to 3B.
  8. Stearns did say it was prearranged, I'm hoping that he has a tentative or close deal in place with like the Dodgers that would bring back two 40 man roster players in Puig and McCarthy while just losing Braun. Wishful thinking.
  9. Statement from Caleb Smith: "Just wanted to thank the Milwaukee Brewers and their incredible fan base. While we never got that championship together, I am off to a much better place now and hoping to share next years World Series with Milwaukee. Good luck Milwaukee! Caleb Smith"
  10. No matter how much he blows, the Padres will be so bad there is no incentive to give him back.
  11. http://www.pinstripealley.com/2015/10/24/9553977/yankees-prospects-2015-roster-report-card-caleb-smith
  12. I'd throw in Tyrone Taylor with Garza for Jeffress.
  13. Hoping Dodgers are just waiting for Turner and Jansen to sign back with them. I'm assuming they don't want to give up prospects and other players at this point if they don't know what they need after these two sign. Hopefully the remaining big free agents start signing soon.
  14. Now Red Sox trade for your LF/DH in Braun for Devers and Groome plus 2 lower level prospects
  15. Damn, Kopech isn't the PTBNL
  16. Pretty funny seeing some of the forum replies how they want Dombrowski's head on a plate, doesn't seem like they gave up the farm by any means, none of their top prospects came over for one of the best relievers in the game for 3 years control, not sure why they are so upset.
  17. From MLB Daily... "Given the incredible returns fetched by Andrew Miller and Aroldis Chapman last season and the fact that Thornburg will be with the Sox for at least three years, this seems like a light return for the Brewers. Shaw provides some value now, especially if he can get his bat back on track. And Dubon and Pennington may be valuable pieces two years down the road. But given the amount teams are willing to pay to acquire elite relievers, it’s a little shocking not to see Milwaukee get a more exciting package for theirs." Wonder what other teams were in on him
  18. Shaw is a FA in 2022, so essentially a prospect with almost a full year of MLB experience, but yeah, wonder if it wasn't Shaw if Kopesch and Pennington or Dubon could have gotten the deal done.
  19. Josh Pennington #RedSox prospect Josh Pennington is going to Milwaukee in this deal. @jnorris427 Alex Speier @alexspeier 49s Travis Shaw is expected to be in deal to Brewers. Still trying to discern who goes to the Red Sox. Source: #RedSox acquire Tyler Thornburg from #Brewers Rosenthal
  20. A couple days ago a beat reporter came out and said the Dodgers are going out of their way to make it known that they don't have an interest in Braun, I realize its all a big cat and mouse game.
  21. "Dodgers Interested in Wade Davis and Lorenzo Cain"..."Dodgers Interested in McCutchen"..."Dodgers never had an interest in Braun at the trade deadline" Looks like Dodgers trying to drive down prices through the media, just like the Brewers were very fond of Travis D'arnaud at the deadline
  22. If LA nixes any deal for Braun, is there any package that would be worthwhile from the Giants? They seem like the two best landing spots due to his no trade clause and need in LF. Christian Arroyo #79 overall(Pipeline 55 grade)(AA)(21 Years old) Tyler Beede #98 overall(Pipeline 55 grade)(AA)(23 years old), 3 plus pitches, lacks control at times Chris Shaw #6 on Top 10 Pipeline 1B prospects(AA)(23 Years old)(Pipeline 50 grade) Would it take two or all three plus another lower level arm or two?
