  1. This always happens because they hold back some seats to sell to people who commit to season ticket packages for next season. I suspect that ticket brokers who are aware of this practice snap up those tickets pretty quickly.
  2. I have to go to Chicago next Saturday for a big event on Sunday. Hopefully I don't find myself in the middle of a big Cubs victory celebration.
  3. It's not worth it to me to pay anything for a site like this. Maybe I would if I was only interested in posting for a month or two to troll and then cancel as soon as my favorite team isn't a factor anymore.
  4. Why not Boyd for Game 1? He only went 4+ innings and threw only 58 pitches on Tuesday and was warming up in the bullpen today. He should be good to throw at least a few innings on Saturday and could come back to start game 4 next Thursday.
  5. This stupid ad bloated site is to blame for that.
  6. Learn to spell the names of the players on your favorite team.
  7. Learn to spell the names of the players on your favorite team.
  8. There goes the Brewers home crowd advantage.
  9. Guardians explode for 5 in the 8th. 2 HRs and 2 doubles. Looks like game 3 coming tomorrow.
  10. Vogt is a nominee for the Mark Kotsay Playoff Lineup Gamble Award. He put top prospect Chase Delauter in CF today to make his MLB debut. After a leadoff single a fly ball came his way for his first fielding chance. He had trouble with the sun and then had the ball pop out of his glove for an error. ETA Bibee came back to strike out the side so the error didn’t hurt except in terms of high stress pitches to escape the first inning.
  11. On Wednesday they have Phillies at 4 PM and Brewers at 7:30. I suppose those are all subject to change. By Thursday it’s “if necessary” territory so that would depend on who is still playing. FS1 just has several TBA slots where presumably the AL games will appear.
  12. My guess for that is that the Brewers will be at noon with Phillies-Dodgers as the prime time game.
  13. The program guide on Spectrum has “TBA at Milwaukee Brewers” at 8:30 PM on Monday. Not exactly a convenient time for anyone who might want to attend the game but get home before 1 AM.
  14. Do you know that the Brewers aren’t playing in the wild card series? I do hope they follow suit by winning the first game of the NLDS against your cubs.
  15. Hitting home runs is often the key to playoff games where it is difficult to string together hits against the best pitchers on the best teams. As they showed today the Cubs ability to hit HRs is an important asset for them.
  16. That feels more like a loss than half a win.
  17. Any chance the Packers can score a TD on the last play of the game? Looks like their only hope.
  18. I’m embarrassed to admit that I thought the Packers might actually have a good defense this season.
  19. You have to go into playoff series expecting them to go to the winner take all final game. if your team can close it out early consider that a gift. But a big reason that the Brewers record of 18-19 since their 14 game winning streak is unsettling is that the playoffs don’t include teams like the Pirates and Angels. The Brewers swept series against those teams but are 12-19 against teams that were playoff contenders when the Brewers played them.
  20. We’re going to the game tomorrow and I don’t want it to come down to the Brewers last gasp to hold on to what looked like a comfortable lead I’d rather have it be the Reds needing a win while the Brewers have their position locked up. But I’m not counting on help from the Twins, who cashed in their chips at the trade deadline.
  21. Hoping for the Mets to lose again today. Then if the Reds win tonight maybe they’ll take the day off tomorrow.
  22. It doesn’t matter what order you put them when literally nobody is hitting well.. Hard to string 3 hits together.
  23. This begs the question of who is the better team in a given series. As others have mentioned, playoff baseball is a significantly different animal than regular season baseball, and the team with the better record in the regular season might not be better structured to win a postseason series over an opponent that won fewer regular season games. With injuries to key players or trade deadline moves a team's playoff roster might be significantly different than it was at times during the regular season. And a team with multiple veteran superstar and future HOF players might be more potent in a short playoff series than one that scrapped and clawed its way through the regular season with several relatively inexperienced players. Despite having the best regular season record in MLB, I'm sure the Brewers would be underdogs against several teams (such as the Dodgers and Phillies) and only slight favorites at best against any playoff team. Maybe the randomness of baseball will prove to be a good thing for the Brewers.
