  1. I would say it’s more like 3 Hall of Famers and 2 current All Stars (Smith and Hernandez). And when they add Muncy that’s another All Star caliber hitter
  2. It has been apparent for some time that this is where this situation was headed.
  3. If I had to come up with one sentence to describe my reaction to this series this might be it. Especially today, until the 8th inning rally, I was stewing over the general lack of offense, including some really awful at bats in scoring situations. I just about lost it when Frelick hacked at a high inside pitch against a pitcher who had just walked two batters, including the previous one on 4 pitches. Same feeling when Adames chased a 2-0 pitch about a foot outside with the bases loaded and none out in the 8th. Then there were the defensive and base running mistakes that can be fatal against anyone, not just one of the league’s best teams. Hopefully the young players will learn from and grow from this series. At times they looked like a team that was playing tight, and that won’t work in the playoffs or if they get challenged in the division race.
  4. I apologize. I didn’t realize you can read my mind If you look at my response at the time I didn’t say that I disagreed with Megill having an opportunity to close, but just that it was a decision to be made later based on circumstances at the time. Regardless I generally don’t appreciate being called a liar, though I do consider the source.
  5. BS. I’m telling you how I interpreted and responded to that comment. How is that gaslighting?
  6. Yikes. Elvis. Had to make a move there but he makes me nervous. I have a feeling this is going to be no runs or 4.
  7. I didn’t like having Turang run with Chourio already down 0-1. He swung at a ball well off the plate, possibly trying to,protect the runner, and that put him on the defensive for the rest of the AB.
  8. This better not be one of those games where the Brewers put up a couple of early runs and then shut down the offense for the rest of the game. They’re not winning 3-2.
  9. The error was on the next play, not Ortiz’s throw that eluded Hoskins.
  10. That inning largely erased the good feeling from the first.
  11. It always interesting to see how different people can see the exact same words and have a significantly different interpretation of them. When I saw the comment about Megill “earning the opportunity” to remain the closer I didn’t take it as saying Megill should be handed the closer role even after Williams was ready to go. My general reaction was to not worry about what might happen several weeks in the future unless and until a decision has to be made. As it turns out there never was a decision to be made because of Megill landing on the IL.
  12. I was in that camp. I couldn’t see him coming right off the IL after that type on injury and coming into 9th inning save situations on consecutive days or anything like that. The way it worked out the Brewers didn’t have a 9th inning save situation for the first two weeks he was on the roster because they were either losing or had leads bigger than 3 runs. So, he was able to ease in with 3 spread out, lower leverage situations until the 1-0 game last Saturday.. And though he struck out the side in that one, he wasn’t that sharp going to 3 balls on each hitter and having two of them chase fastballs out of the strike zone..
  13. Looks like the Reds and Cards will be tied for second after tonight. Both are 4 games behind the last wild card spot.
  14. Great start. Young Brewers again showing they aren’t ready for, prime time.
  15. Over/Under on HRs allowed by Montas tonight. I say over 2.5.
  16. We were at the game Saturday and I didn’t notice anything different. We have prepaid preferred parking that I bought as part of our 10 pack and someone scanned my parking ticket as we entered just like always, someone further along checked it and waved us into the same lot where we usually park and we were directed to a space.
  17. The Cardinals lost again as the Reds and Cubs close in on second place.
  18. Ha ha Levering. He just said “Everything is falling for the Dodgers this inning.” after Smith’s bloop single. 430 foot fly balls tend to fall in and bullets up the middle have a good shot. Time to find alternative programming.
  19. The Brewers may have had a pitching advantage tonight, but it is nothing compared to the Dodgers massive hitting advantage.
  20. Again the Brewers need a HR to score after squandering a chance with RISP.
  21. Murphy said Peralta pitched well last night but just gave up HR to two of the best hitters in the game. He will also be pleased with Rea.
  22. Frelick just needs a ground ball to the right side or up the middle with the infield back, and he bloops out.
  23. Just keep talking about how much Smith is struggling. 😡
  24. Whenever I hear an announcer say “He’s a hitter, he’s hit everywhere he’s played” (as they just did about Black) a picture of Keston Hiura jumps into my head.
  25. Not for, people who have been paying attention to what they’ve been doing the last couple of months. They were in the WS last year so if they keep playing well they will be recognized as a contender again this year.
