Slowest double play I've ever seen. Villar stopped and stared on the turn, reminded me of Harden crossing over the defender a while back and staring at him on the ground

Except Cain bats with 2 outs the next inning instead of leading off. Not turning the lineup over is the harm

Yep, we will get 2... not sure about 4 though. 6 strikeouts the first time through... don't think we will see that much this year. Bad send by Cousin Eddie... they probably pitch around Arica if he doesn't send him. That clears the pitcher. It's not just odds of scoring on throw vs scoring with Arica/Anderson. It affects multiple innings by how fast we turn the order over.

Probably only making this connection because they're both on my fantasy team, but Happ seems to be in the same boat with the Cubs. Already his 3rd time not in the lineup, and he can play multiple spots.

Curious who sits today. Cain off to such a hot start that it would be tough not to put him in, but it kind of makes sense for it to be his "turn" for a rest day.

His splits were better away LAST YEAR. Before that 3.75 home era and 4.40 road. Probably at lot more to do with who the opponents happened to be, or a couple blow up starts. After one year you can't just say he's terrible at home.

MLB response was that the umpires absolutely did the right thing, and an official letter of warning will be sent to the Phillies. Totally agree with this stance that player safety comes first. A 2-3 minute delay is nothing in the grand scheme of things. I remember this happening in a Brewer game where they came out to get Wang without anyone up in the pen and the relievers out there freaked out throwing their arms up and trying to wave out to get the managers attention, then I think it turned out they were bringing in a position player to pitch. -
Maybe just avoiding 3 lefties in a row? Not a fan of moving Cain Yellich out of 1-2. Pina bell rung and a jammed thumb that was heavily taped up yesterday so Bandy makes sense. Don't think you "punish" Arcia with a day off. Have been worse mistakes without benching. Guessing just wanted Sogard to get a start but I'm not a fan.

Yep, that was part of why I didn't think this was as bad of roster construction as some thought. Look at Villar last night. Now hopefully our pitchers get to 5/6, but still the first double switch will probably get a couple AB. Watching Cards game to kill time. Pham cuts in front of Ozuna on a fly ball which essentially let the runner tag and score from third. Don't think he even tries to score with Ozuna set and with a canon. Pham's throw missed the plate by 10 feet. Ozuna hitless to start the year so far Swarzak left with discomfort in his lower back.

This will be a very interesting lineup tonight. First glimpse of how playing time might be split up with RHP. I'm sure Thames is at 1B and we will see if Braun or Santana is sitting.
