  1. Brewers hitters have adapted to Suter pace innings when Suter is on the mound. That half inning was about a minute and a half.
  2. That turned into a nice start for Houser. Good to see him be able to settle in after some early struggles. Put himself in position for a quality start. I get why they went bullpen, but I think Houser was capable of the 6th. He’s been solid this year!
  3. Smoak producing runs is a big boost. Once it was 0-2 I thought for sure the K was coming.
  4. The catchers seem to look into the dugout every pitch. I’m not sure how much of the game they actually call.
  5. Travis Shaw with a game winning single in Buffalo. Last year I could’ve imagined typing that and thinking who has a AAA team in Buffalo.... but today it’s MLB reality.
  6. He sure struggles with fastballs. He’s one of the only good hitters I can remember that can’t hit a fastball. I can name 30 guys who couldn’t lay off a slider down and away, but Hiura hits the snot out of off speed and can’t hit a fastball.
  7. Don’t know how to look it up, but the Brewers have to lead the league in strikeouts looking. Seems like BA says “caught guessing” about 10 times per night.
  8. He’s clearly struggled this year with a 12 ERA. He pitched last night giving up a run, and they trot him out in a high pressure situation today. Don’t get it, but I’ll take it....
  9. No, I think the exact same thing. I have done some umpiring though and I feel like it is 100x harder standing on the field so close. I always wish I could just umpire from the stands or from a screen. I think the same about home plate. Would probably be 100x easier to watch the video from CF and make calls (without the little strike zone box). Distance and angle make a huge difference. I ref basketball and watch a ton of high school games in person and always feel I see more from the stands.
  10. Based on 30 at bats??? He’s a career .270 hitter with good power and above average defense. He’s the best option we have in CF with Cain opting out. He’s played really well defensively this year. But yea, we should prolly freak out over the 30 AB.
  11. Gamel was playing in CF essentially. Guess they thought the lefty would be behind Burnes fastball. Ball rolled to corner and Gamel had a LONG run.
  12. I believe most people were not happy with the way the offseason went so its not exactly surprising to see us doing so poorly. That is true to a point, there were a lot of people here that thought we made a lot of great moves, I just never figured out based on what? We signed a bunch of cheap bums, hoping they had a good year in them, so far, not one of them has... I don’t think any of them are staying this bad for 60 games either. I think they’re near a .500 team without Cain, but that’s probably playoffs.
  13. Wow, pretty depressing game thread. If the Brewers miss the playoffs then the off season was a bust. Real early to be proclaiming that.
  14. New Big 10 schedule released. We get Michigan the week after they play Ohio State.
