  1. Coming off 4 days off seems like an odd time to ride guys deep into outings. Seems like Burnes and Phelps were running out of gas. Fully rested pen and expanded rosters Craig!!!
  2. Strike two was borderline, but strike three had a lot of the plate. Swing the bat!!
  3. I just got home and see I missed A LOT. We lost two OF Called up two IF Healy leadoff Garcia CF Gamel RF Literally none of that makes sense, but LETS GO!!!
  4. Eduardo Rodriguez is going to miss the rest of the season with an inflamed heart. I doubt anyone on July 23rd thought that a professional athlete could have life threatening symptoms. Sure they know in the back of their minds its possible, but being a professional athlete facing a virus that mostly affects the ill or the elderly has to give you a sense of invincibility. Seeing a MLB player have very serious complications has to change things for some. Anything with your heart can be career or even life threatening.
  5. Thought it had to be a goat?? That’s only if the bats are afraid of breakaballs. Yelich can’t hit anything.
  6. Yep, I don’t understand it. You don’t have to bunt the entire season. You have to bunt twice, take two free singles and they will move their shift. So not only are you taking two free hits your also increasing your future chances by making them adjust their shift.
  7. Apparently Ed has the “closer” type mentality where you totally forget anything that happened the night before.
  8. Phelps had to deal with the inherited runner twice, should get the win and save.
  9. This a regular season rule, right? I don’t think I could take it in the postseason. I was thinking the same. I actually like the intensity it brings, but not sure I want it to decide a post season game or series.
  10. I did a little, not gonna lie. Then I jumped on the bandwagon with that double, but sorta back off after the slide... He’s an emotional roller coaster.
  11. Ball 4 was strike 2. Missed his spot badly but bet robots don’t care how much the catchers glove moves...
  12. Yep, really liked the walk. Three of the 4 he took were only an inch or two off the edge and he never budged. Seems like he’s seeing it well.
  13. Sogard will change the trend... Edit: Changed the hard hit ball trend, but not how I guessed. Give him credit for a nice AB there.
  14. Really nice job by Houser. I don’t remember him working this quickly last year.
  15. Just clearing some space in the storage shed. They prolly got about 50 cases of em sitting out there.
  16. I would be real curious to know if the Korean League and Euro soccer broadcasts show much different social distancing concepts. Their countries have handled it better and I’d bet their athletes did as well. Our population as a whole has not adapted. We “locked down” with daily trips to work, stores, gas stations, etc. We rebel against masks and flock to bars as soon as they were open. The town next to me had off road races this past weekend that drew 25,000 people. For MLB specifically, just on broadcasts I’ve seen players without masks in the dugout, high fives, hand shakes, spitting. Americans as a whole are a spoiled society who will not be inconvenienced. MLB has followed suit. We don’t have the society structure to stop the spread no matter what political party. It’s not political, it’s culture. MLB leaders had to know this coming in, which is why I think they will play through it baring someone getting seriously ill.
  17. I hope not. I'm not saying it's the correct thing to do, but it had to be part of their plan. If they were going to shut the whole season down for an outbreak they would have never started. The odds of an outbreak like this occurring had to be almost 100%. They would be completely foolish to think they would get through a 60 game schedule without an outbreak happening. So to me, if they were willing to start the season, they were willing to play through an outbreak like this.
  18. They had to know this would happen at some point. I’m not sure how they will ever make up games in such a condensed season, but this has to be discussed at some point. I don’t think this will stop the season unless a player has severe symptoms. I think if a player ever gets ill to the point of a ventilator or life threatening symptoms the danger would become very real and players would bail. If all the cases amongst players are minor symptoms I think they play through it.
