The Phillies have played 59 games this season. Six games against teams with a record over .500. That almost seems impossible.
-
Or, is a win a win?
-
Do we really want 30+ year old Adames, though? Turang and Ortiz are capable replacements. We’d be better off spending Adames money on pitching. -
Adames = Brewers Wall of Honor?
-
Not sure if this was mentioned earlier but I’m glad we did not trade for or sign Benintendi

Corbin Burnes was DL Hall before DL Hall? 🤷♂️

Corbin Burnes had a 8.82 ERA in 2019.

Brent Suter hasn’t even factored into a decision despite pitching 29 IP over 21 appearances. His record is 0-0. -
I love Ghostbear. He comes out of hibernation after a seven month absence with unexpected content.
-
I most appreciate the computers thinking Colorado had absolutely zero chance to make the playoffs at the start of the year.
-
He’s not missing a lot of bats with only 12 K in 21 IP at AAA-Omaha this year.

Little question on how @treego14will construct his rhyming post today. Arrighetti will make his seventh career start after debuting last month. He has pitched much better at home (3.68 ERA) compared to his three road starts (12.34 ERA).

Just 1974 with Green Bay. Had one rushing attempt for 18 yards. 🙂 https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WalkRa21.htm

Found the box score from the game I decided I really dislike the Astros and the train at Enron: https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/HOU/HOU200104040.shtml I really wanted Leskanic to close this one out.

…pulling Turang for Miller *sigh*
-
Fair enough. There are plenty of unconventional moves. At the same time, the team is over performing everyone’s expectations entering the season.
-
Worst 98-win pace team ever!
-
The Brewers are second in MLB for on base percentage, slugging, and runs scored.
-
The 2024 Milwaukee Brewers seem to be a quintessential “bite of the apple’ team. We might as well keep the team together and perhaps add someone at the deadline and see how things shake out.
-
Mauer was just a singles hitter, though. 🙂
-
Turang has .350 OBP versus LHP this year. Zero power and small sample size, though.
-
Joey Ortiz has .367 OPS against LHP (22 AB) .966 OPS against RHP (70 AB) 2024 stats

Also, is it bad if I believe this lineup would look better if Jake Bauers were in it? I suppose it is as good a day as any to give some of our lefty bats a rest. I do fully expect some of the lefty bats to emerge from the dugout after the starter is pulled in the sixth inning.
