  1. I decided that the In Game Thread needed to get its first poist...1-0 Rockies going into the bottom of the 3rd...i think we might be in for another close game. Cruz needs more ABs...lets say Cruz will carry a batting average of .150 this year...sadly that's not THAT far below Royce Claytons. Helms takes one to the warning track, I think Wes is seeing the ball, Podzilla reaches base for his 36th consecutive game with a basehit to left...
  2. I agree that it is only a matter of time, before Matt Ford comes back down to Earth...I too was at the game last night and almost all of the hits he gave up were hit pretty hard. Larry Walker was the only who looked bad last night...Colorado's lineup is stacked (if not, inflated), it seems that 7 guys in their lineup have batting averages near or above .300. Wes Helms, while lacking some plate discipline (swinging at some questionable pitches) has been stinging the ball nicely. It'll be interesting to see Helms next year with one full season at 3B under his belt. All in all a very exciting game last night...we should have really hit Darren Oliver harder then we did though...EY's GIDP early on proved to be costly, some good range displayed by the Rockies on defense took away a number of potential hits away from the Brewers...
  3. Well...a nice job by Brady getting into scoring position....in vain
  4. Alright...Alright...settle down now DJ...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  5. even better by Jenkins!!! The ball rolls of the bullpen bench, Jenks fights through the cups on the ground and fires to home in time to get Jones???!?!? Wow
  6. I'm not going to insinuate a trade with the Twins as my thoughts are completely unsubstantiated, but what is the availability of a team acquiring Johan Santana? His stuff is/was nasty today... If he's capable of starting games, I would think he's going to waste in the bullpen. I know that Aaron's Baseball Blog seems to feel the same way. Johan Santana...any thoughts?
  7. Good afternoon, good evening, and good night...Curtis Leskanic strikes out the side! Quick Doug run to the phone!
  8. Is it just me, or has Royce looked a little more comfortable in the box the past week or so..he's raised his batting average to .225 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif
  9. Great slide indeed by Pods, as for Matt Ford's start 3 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 2 SO, 62 pitches, 38 strikes He "battled" http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif , while it wasn't a flashy start, if every starter's could have an ERA of 3.00 during their starts...I think it was Osik that called for a high fastball to Kielty and Fod's mid-high 80's fastball either wasn't fast enough or wasn't high enough and Kielty hammered it...Ford's expression after the pitch said it all, whether it was Osik's fault for calling for the high fastball or Ford's for not putting it up high enough remains to be seen. A promising start...Kolb with 2 scoreless innings backing up Ford, 3 more innings of relief left...
  10. Podsednik knocks in yet another...Ginter a ground rule double....walking Jenks to load the bases for Richie...
  11. I saw reports that Delmon Young and those who speak for Delmon are in no hurry to sign with the Devil Rays and that his camp is going to hold out to get an idea of what he's worth, "price lining" was the official term used I believe. I think Delmon Young wants to be among the last signed in the first round, so if Rickie Weeks gets signed for $ X million dollars Delmon Young can sign for X + .5 million dollars.
  12. VDS puts out the fire in the 8th...leadoff man aboard for the Cubs in the 9th...
  13. Kolb's ball is darting all over the place...
  14. Baseball Prospectus is the first source I've seen that has questioned Rickie Weeks as the # 2 pick. Granted Southern University isn't an elite baseball powerhouse but I'm not sure if I'd call Rickie Weeks an "extremely risky pick". Weeks has had some of his best performances against some of his strongest competition. ...I guess they vehemently disagree with Gwynn as a 2nd round selection as well.
